Hollywood Dreams (Hollywood Hopeful Book 1) by Molly O'Hare (26)

Chapter Twenty-Six

Maggie followed behind Trevor as they ran up the steps of his home… well her home now, too, she surmised. It was still a little too surreal for her, but she was happy nonetheless.

“Oh, devil cat- I mean Pocket,” Trevor said as he opened the front door. “You’re Mommy and Daddy have a surprise for you.”

“Trevor,” Maggie laughed as she followed him.

“But we really do.”

Pocket, always knowing when he is being talked to came out from around the corner and sat down in the hallway looking at them. With one slow blink, he yawned, clearly waiting for the news that took him away from what she presumed was his cat nap.

“There you are,” Trevor said. “Guess what, big guy? Your Mommy and Daddy are getting married.”

Another slow blink from Pocket. “Well, don’t act all excited,” Maggie said before moving to Pocket to pat the top of his head, earning her another slow blink.

“The cat never shuts up, and the second we actually want to talk to him he’s gone mute.”

In protest, Pocket opened his mouth wide and bellowed.

“There’s my boy,” Trevor said before scratching Pocket under the chin.

Trevor turned toward Maggie, his eyes showing nothing but pure love. She stood there trying to remember how she even got to this point. So much had happened, things she hated and things she loved. She’d met some amazing people, followed her dreams and now she was standing in front of the man, she had once crushed on from afar and then hated. Now, she didn’t think she could go one day without loving him.

Trevor must have felt the thickness in the air. He took two steps and cupped Maggie’s cheeks in his hands. “I love you.” He then kissed her. Kissed her like a man that was drowning and was finally getting air. Pulling away he kissed her nose. “My Fiancée.”

“I guess so,” she said still not believing it. I’m going to marry Trevor. Freakin. McCain!

That feeling somewhat unsettled her. She was going to be marrying the biggest name in Hollywood. Her.

“No,” he growled. She looked into his eyes and saw the passion there. “No. I won’t allow you to think like that.”

She cocked her eyebrow. “How do you know what I was thinking?” she challenged.

“Are you kidding me. Do you really think I don’t know you? It’s written all over your face.” He pulled her into his arms. “First, let me remind you. I love you and only you.”

“That’s a nice thing to say.”

He laughed. “How did I get so lucky?”

“Who said you were going to get lucky?”

He lifted her, causing her to wrap her legs around his waist or she’d fall. “I know I’m getting lucky. You hate when I’m not buried deep inside of you,” he growled. “But in all honesty. I love you, Maggie. You’re who I want to spend the rest of my life with. You. No one else.”

Her heart skipped. God, he was such a pain in her ass, but when he said things like that, she couldn’t help but melt. “I love you, too, you big buffoon.”

“Who are you callin’ a buffoon?”

“You.”

He laughed before taking her mouth with his. One thing was for sure, there would never be a dull moment between them. And she wouldn’t want it any other way.

They made their way to the bedroom. Trevor tossed her onto the bed, climbing on top of her. As he kissed his way down her neck, he started to palm her chest. “God, I love this dress. Too bad it’s not going to last another second.”

“No!”

It was too late. Trevor had already ripped the beautiful dress right down the middle. “I’m gonna kill you,” she growled.

“What a way to go,” he said before kissing his way down her body. He dipped his tongue into her belly button before saying, “how is it you taste better and better every time?”

“They put some marshmallow body lotion on me,” she moaned.

Trevor’s tongue was off of her in a millisecond as he growled. “Who put it on you?”

Rolling her eyes, she did her best not to sit up and slap him upside his head. “The people you hired to help me get ready tonight.”

“They touched you?” He moved to get off the bed and reached for his phone.

“Drop it right now mister, or so help me.”

He narrowed his eyes at her. “How could you let them touch you. Better yet, why would you?”

“Oh, for the love of all things. No one touched me you, Neanderthal. They handed it to me and told me to make sure I put plenty of lotion on. I misspoke.” He crossed his arms over his chest, clearly deciding if he wanted to believe her or not.

Nope. It would never be a boring day married to Trevor. Doing the only thing she could to distract him, she slid her hands down her body pulling her panties off.

That did the trick.

“Mine!” he growled before grabbing the panties and ripping them off her body. Thought so.

“Damn, you are so beautiful and all mine.” He ripped his dress shirt off sending buttons flying through the room. Which then caused a certain cat to start chasing after them, informing everyone within earshot the second he caught one.

Maggie threw her head back in laughter. Yup, this was the life she was going to live and she wouldn’t want it any other way.
