Liam
Getting on the bus, Liam remembered the wet walk home the day before, but with that, he also remembered he’d gotten a message from Daddy Cash. Sitting down between a man talking on his phone and a woman reading her Kindle, he opened the app and glanced at the blue dot next to Cash’s message, listing it as unread. Clicking on it, he sat back, prepared to read it then reject any proposals therein, but the message was too intriguing.
Liam,
My name is Tommy and my Daddy’s name is Cash. I’ve created a profile for him without his knowledge. I know, I know, it’s a recipe for disaster, but desperate times call for desperate measures. Daddy and I are parting ways, very amicably. We love each other very much, but we aren’t in love with each other. He’s always pushed me to follow my dreams and supported me in that as well.
My dreams are taking me away from him, and he’s going to need a new boy. I want to find him one and make sure he’ll get his needs met when I’m gone. I know him, and he won’t seek out what he needs when I leave. He’ll give himself some time, and then he’ll become complacent about it and justify settling for someone that doesn’t suit him because he doesn’t think he can find what he needs.
What better person to find what he needs than the boy that gives him what he needs every day? I know this is a long shot. I know you live far away and the distance isn’t exactly conducive to setting a good foundation for a new relationship, but I’m hoping you’ll take a few minutes to think it over before you reject my request to talk.
I figure I’ve got nothing to lose in asking, and you’ve got nothing to lose in listening. So, if you’re willing to chat with me about Daddy, message me and let me know when you’re free, and I’ll do my best to be available. If you’re just looking for casual “Daddy play” hook-ups, there’s no need to respond. But from the way your profile reads, I don’t think that’s the case. I hope to hear from you soon.
Tommy
He read the message five times before he realized that, once again, he’d forgotten to pay attention to the bus stops. Tommy was right. He had nothing to lose in listening, and if nothing else, he’d at least be chatting with another boy that had the same, or similar, sexual predilections as he had. He’d never had anyone to talk to about it. So, when the situation with Cash didn’t work out, and he was positive it wouldn’t, at least maybe he’d have gained a friend.
He didn’t have time to write Tommy back right away, but he’d do it at his first break. He got off the bus at his stop, walked a couple blocks to his first job of the day, and got to work. He didn’t exactly love working at a distribution center for a local manufacturing company. He basically dealt with inventory all day. Shipping and receiving wasn’t exactly a mental challenge, but it did keep his mind active and require a lot of physical activity, so he supposed that was good.
He worked with some pretty cool people which made the job easier, and he usually had fun. They’d been unusually busy that day, and since he didn’t smoke, he’d worked through his fifteen-minute breaks, wanting to get through their workload on time. At lunch, however, he had time to sit down, eat his PB&J, and read the message again before responding that he was willing to hear what Tommy had to say and was available at around eleven that evening.
He passed the rest of his lunch hour scrolling through his other social media accounts. He joked around with a few of his coworkers for a bit then engrossed himself with his phone again. Just before he went back on shift, he saw the notification from TBC and clicked it open. He grinned when he could read the excitement in Tommy’s response, and they were set to chat later that night.
For the first time in weeks, he was excited, which made no sense because the situation didn’t have much hope of working out for him, but he didn’t care. It was something outside of his regular life, something just for him, and he never ever had anything just for him. So, if all it turned out to be was a couple conversations with a guy about his Daddy and why they wouldn’t work well together, it was better than nothing. Tucking his phone back in his pocket, he got back to work.
When he got home around ten that evening, Ciara was in the kitchen making him something to eat. They sat in silence while he ate reheated boxed macaroni and cheese, frozen vegetables, and canned fruit cocktail. They’d burned through everything fresh a week ago and were subsisting on canned and boxed food until they could afford to go out and shop again on the first of the month. At least they had food. He wasn’t going to complain about that.
“Thanks for this.”
She smirked. “All the necessary nutrients for a growing boy your age.”
He snorted and shook his head. “How was tonight?”
“Good. She’s been fine today. Sobered up enough to shower, go down to the newsstand out front, and grab a paper. She looked for jobs for an hour. Then she got all mopey when she didn’t find one that would make us all rich immediately and started drinking again.”
“Big surprise. Glad she at least showered and pretended to be interested in finding another job.”
Ciara nodded. “I circled a couple for her, and she’ll most likely apply to them eventually, if for no other reason than booze money because she knows you won’t give her a dime for that.”
“No. I won’t give her a dime for anything. She can’t be trusted. I’m the one supporting you both. She doesn’t have a sober leg to stand on.”
“You’re so hard on her.”
“And you’re too soft on her. She can’t be trusted. I’ve learned that the hard way, over and over and over again.”
She rested her chin on her palm and met his gaze. “I know. And I know you’ve taken the brunt of it all so that I wouldn’t have to be impacted. Thank you for taking care of me.”
He reached over and clasped her other hand and squeezed. “We’re a team. We’ll find a way out of here.” He stood and put his dishes in the sink, turned back, and pulled her into a hug. “I think I’m gonna crash a bit early tonight. You gonna be alright?”
She nodded. “Yeah. I’m fine. I’m gonna watch some really bad tv and eat some ice cream.”
He smiled at her. “Sounds like a good idea. I’ll see you tomorrow.”
He headed to his room. He wanted to take a quick shower and wash off the day before he got on his phone to talk to Tommy. Less than ten minutes later, he was in his pajamas and lying propped up on a bunch of pillows on his bed. He’d prefer a computer to be doing this much chatting, but a laptop was a luxury they couldn’t afford, let alone the wifi to get him connected. His phone was the one luxury he allowed himself.
He glanced at Cash’s profile one more time, reading everything through. The man was gorgeous. He was forty, but his hair was a dark, gunmetal gray, along with his beard, which made him think he’d grayed extremely prematurely or colored it that way. But damn was it sexy. It leant a debonair quality to him that might have otherwise been lacking.
His beard was thick but not long. It was the perfect length to grip on and tug a little. His eyes were bluish gray, he was a striking man. He would look equally amazing in a fancy suit or ratty jeans and a T-shirt. Add in the piercing gaze, and he knew if the man was ever his Daddy, he’d always want to do what he said.
Shaking his head at that absurdity, he flipped to another picture, a candid one of him in jeans, biker boots, and a black leather jacket standing next to a Harley. He was putting on his sunglasses, unaware of someone taking the picture. He checked the others then read through the profile again. When eleven rolled around, he saw the message come through.
Tommy: Hey, Liam. How are you? Do you still have time to chat?
Liam: I’m good, thanks, and yeah, this is a good time. I’m surprised you’re not with Cash on a Saturday night at eleven.
Tommy: I’m upstairs, and he’s downstairs having a poker night with the rest of the Daddies.
Liam: Uh, how many Daddies does he know?
Tommy: There’s around seven or eight of them that play pretty regularly. They’re a great bunch of guys he’s known for years.
Liam really liked the sound of that. It was like a little community, built in support for their lifestyle. He had no idea what that would feel like. He’d only realized it was his kink at the end of his freshman year of high school and hadn’t dared tell anyone. Well, anyone except Ciara because she’d picked his phone up one day to search for something online for a paper she was writing and had found one of his favorite blogs up on his browser. That had been quite the conversation.
He wasn’t even out when he’d been in high school. They lived in bumfuck Pennsylvania, and he knew it wasn’t in his best interest to share that little tidbit. At the end of freshman year, he’d started to watch porn online. He’d saved enough to be able to afford his own mobile phone with data, and he was like a kid in a candy store. He’d happened upon a video he still watched occasionally where age role play was happening, and he’d nearly come without even touching his dick.
Seeing an older man telling his boy to take Daddy’s cock was an epiphany. A light bulb went on, and he started looking for more videos like it and doing internet searches to find out as much as he could on the subject. He knew it wasn’t “normal,” but the fact that it made him yearn for something so strongly he wanted to learn everything about it was something he couldn’t deny. He knew the likelihood of him ever finding what he wanted was slim. But that didn’t mean he couldn’t try, which was why he’d joined TBC in the first place.
Tommy: Liam, you there?
Liam: Yeah. Sorry. That’s really cool. I’ve never met anyone that lives the lifestyle. I mean, I’ve had casual encounters with Daddies, but never one that wanted to live the lifestyle like I do.
Tommy: Daddy’s not into adult baby/diaper lovers and role playing as the Daddy of a little.
Liam: Yeah, I’m not into ABDL, either.
Tommy: You have age play with pseudo incest as your kink, and you list that you need a firm hand of control more like a Daddy Dom. How much structure and control do you want?
Liam: Yes, that’s my kink. I don’t necessarily want a Dom so much as I want to give up all control to my Daddy.
Tommy: Are you looking for a contract with twenty-four seven pseudo incest play?
Liam: Don’t need a contract. But I need to feel like I’m under Daddy’s thumb at all times. And, I don’t need twenty-four seven pseudo incest play, but I want him to always be Daddy and for his rules and his control to be strict and constant.
Tommy: So, he’ll always be Daddy and always be in control of you, but it won’t be constant role play.
Liam: Yes, exactly. Will that be a problem? I mean, I don’t need to call him Daddy in public, I just mean in my head, that’s who he is, he’s Daddy to me, always. Does that make sense?
Tommy: Yes, of course. That won’t be a problem at all. But, in terms on the control you’re asking for, do you know how much you’ll feel like you have no say? That’s a lot of commitment and a lot of control to give. Are you sure that’s what you want? I’m not trying to question your honesty, I just wanted to be sure you know what that really means, and you’re serious about it. It won’t work otherwise.
Liam: It’s exactly what I want. It’s what I need.
Tommy: That’s good. That’s perfect, actually. And to clarify the age portion of the pseudo incest play, what age do you prefer to play?
Liam: Late teens, I guess. This feels so weird, talking about it like this.
Tommy: I know. I’m sorry I have to be so blunt and invasive about your preferences, but I can’t choose someone that isn’t exactly what Daddy needs.
Liam: Won’t he be mad when he finds out you’ve set him up with a stranger?
Tommy: I’ll tell him before I leave. He’ll be expecting you. He may be a bit annoyed at first, but when he finds out that you’re looking for exactly what he’s looking for, he’ll be fine. I promise.
Liam: Look, I don’t know how it would work. I’m in Pennsylvania, and you’re in Massachusetts. I work three jobs to take care of my sister and my mom.
Tommy: Well, we can try to work around any issues you have with moving. We can get creative to make it work. But, if it’s completely out of the question, let me know now.
Liam: I don’t know. It’s a lot to take in.
Tommy: I understand that, and I’m assuming before you say yes to anything you’ll want to learn a lot more about what you’re getting yourself into, but we won’t get into any of that if it’s completely off the table.
Liam: I don’t know. I’d have to think about it.
Tommy: That’s fair. Of course. Take all the time you need, but know that I have to continue my search. I’m running out of time to fully train a new boy for Daddy, and I need to find someone that would fit him. Your profile reads exactly as mine would, so if what you said is true, you’d be a great fit for Daddy.
Liam: It’s true. All of it. I want exactly what you have, but I have to think of my sister, and how she’d afford to live on her own while she finishes high school. I’d have to find a job as soon as I got there.
Tommy: Money isn’t an issue. Daddy takes care of his boy. He even paid for my schooling and gave me an allowance. I’m sure he’d help with your sister and your mom. He’s very generous if you’re his boy. I don’t want for anything.
Liam: Oh, I wouldn’t expect that. I pay my way. I’ve helped support my mom and sister basically since I was fifteen and could get my first job.
Tommy: Daddy would allow you to have a job if it’s what you really wanted, but he wouldn’t let you pay for any of your living expenses. Obviously, you’d have to figure that out between yourselves because it would be a different situation than the one we have, but I doubt things would change much.
Liam: Tommy, it really sounds great. Perfect actually. It’s exactly the type of relationship I’ve wanted. I just need to think about it. I understand you have to keep looking and might find another, more suitable boy in the meantime, and honestly, if you found someone more suitable, you should choose that person anyway. Let me get back to you after I’ve given it some thought.
Tommy: Sounds good. I hope I hear back from you. Have a good night, Liam.
Liam: You too, Tommy.
He sat his phone down beside him on the bed. God, he wanted something for himself. So badly. He’d never made many friends in high school, and forget any sort of relationship. It was all he could do to get good grades and work enough to take care of his mom and sister. Once he graduated, he added as many work hours to his schedule as he could. Friendships and relationships seemed like a luxury he couldn’t afford.
But as soon as he thought about what Tommy was offering, images of his sister popped into his head, and he knew he couldn’t do it, which just depressed the shit out of him. He couldn’t leave her, and it would be nearly six months before she’d graduate. Maybe he could think of moving that far away then, but he knew Tommy couldn’t wait that long.
Two days later, he was in bed looking at pictures of Cash, yet again. He’d memorized the contours of his face and every word Tommy had written on his profile. He couldn’t get enough and would admit to being just a little obsessed. He’d come back to his bio over and over and over again. During breaks at work, on the bus, when he got home, he couldn’t seem to stop. Each time, promising himself it was the last.
He hadn’t contacted Tommy yet to tell him he couldn’t be Cash’s boy. He was just about to force himself to when there was a knock on the door. His sister walked in before he could even tell her it was okay. She plopped on his bed and grabbed his phone right out of his hands. He panicked because he hadn’t had the time to turn it off, and he tried to snatch it from her grasp when she flipped it to face her. She was too quick though and whistled at Cash’s gorgeous face.
“I’ve been wondering what’s got you so broody the last couple days. It’s not like you. Who is this hottie?”
“No one.”
“I call bullshit. You’ve been all sad and droopy, looking at your phone every chance you get. I can’t blame you for it, now that I see what’s got your attention, but why the puppy dog eyes?”
He rolled his eyes at the question and grabbed for his phone again, unsuccessfully. “I don’t have puppy dog eyes.”
She smiled and nodded. “You so do!”
He got serious. “Really, it’s nothing. Can I have my phone back, please?”
She crossed her arms over her chest and said, “No. Not until you tell me what’s up. If you don’t, I’ll just look for myself. You know when I want to know something, I’ll find a way.”
“He’s just some dude on one of those dating apps.”
“Ohhhhh, like Grindr?”
He gave her an incredulous look. “How the hell do you know about Grindr?”
She rolled her eyes. “Oh, please. Everyone knows about Grindr.”
“Everyone does not know about Grindr. But no, it’s not Grindr.”
She tried to thumb out of the profile, and he made another grab for the phone. Again, he was unsuccessful. When had she developed cat like reflexes? He groaned when she asked, “What’s The Boys Club?”
“Don’t worry about it, CC. Just give me my phone.”
“Li, I’m not gonna stop until I know what’s going on. You haven’t been this distracted in. . . I don’t think I’ve ever seen you this distracted. Please, tell me what’s going on.”
“It’s nothing. He’s just a guy on a dating app that I think is hot.”
“Ohhhhh, is he a daddy?”
He flung himself back on his pillows and covered his face with his hands. “Oh, for fuck’s sake, CC. I’m not talking about this with you.”
“He is a daddy! Hang on, let me read his profile.”
He shook his head, his face still hidden behind his palms. “Oh my god.”
“Hey! Don’t be like that, I just wanna know what’s going on. You know me, I’m curious. I’m not gonna poke fun!”
He didn’t reply and waited her out. She finally grinned and looked at him. “He’s perfect for you. You should totes be his little boy.”
He wouldn’t admit to the whimper he let escape. “Oh, sweet Jesus. Kill me now.”
“Oh, come on! I’m encouraging you. Why not go for the guy? You should chat with him.”
“He’s not looking for a boy.”
“It says here he is.”
He growled and was finally able to grab the phone back. “His current boy, Tommy, posted it. He’s leaving him and trying to find his replacement. The guy doesn’t even know there’s an ad up. Besides, he lives in Boston for shit’s sake. It’s not gonna work.”
She jumped up and down on his bed. “Seriously? Boston?!”
He looked at her, suspicious. “Why are you so excited about that?”
She gave him an innocent, “Who, me?” look and said, “Because this is exciting for you! You like this dude.”
“I haven’t even met this dude!”
“Doesn’t matter. You’ve talked to his boy and his profile is really detailed. You like him, admit it.”
He slumped back into the pillows and sighed. “Yeah, but it doesn’t matter. I need to tell Tommy that it won’t work. He’s looking for someone to train as his boy right now.”
“So, train! Why not? Take a chance, Li. This is exactly the kind of relationship you’ve dreamed of. I mean, I don’t get it, but I don’t have to. I support you, and if this is what you want, you should totally train to be his boy. How often does an opportunity like this come around?”
“It comes around exactly never. But did you not just hear what I said? He lives in Boston.”
She bounced and grinned widely. “I know! But, who cares? We’ve always wanted to visit. It would be an adventure! I could finish up high school and come out when I’m done.”
“Ciara, come on! It’s a pipe dream. Not to mention, you’re starting college in the fall. We’re moving as soon as you graduate. I’ve already started looking for a cheap place to rent near your campus. Cheap and Boston don’t work in the same sentence. It’s like the second or third most expensive place to live in the U.S. What the hell happens when the guy decides he doesn’t want me? How the hell would we be able to afford to live there?”
She scoffed at him. Actually scoffed. “You, brother, have got to be every daddy’s wet dream. He’s not going to toss you out! He’d be lucky to have you. And if he’s the kind of guy the profile says he is, even if he decided it wasn’t going to work out, he wouldn’t toss you out on your ass.”
“We don’t know that. It could happen.”
“For shits and giggles, let’s just say I was going to college in Boston in the fall, had a job here to help with bills until I moved to Boston, and I’d be fine without you when you left because I’d be moving within months of you leaving. Would you go then?”
“But you’re not.”
She huffed and rolled her eyes. “This is hypothetical. So, answer hypothetically.”
He crossed his arms over his chest. This was getting ridiculous. “Fine. Hypothetically, if you were going to college in Boston and were moving there anyway, I’d say yes.”
She was up like a shot, running from his room. “Be right back!”
What the fuck? She was crazy. She was back in less than a minute, handing him an envelope. He pulled several papers out of it and started to read.
Dear Ms. Cavanagh,
Congratulations! I am pleased to inform you that you have been accepted into the School of Nursing in the Bouve College of Health Sciences at Northeastern University…
“You got into Northeastern?”
“Yeah.”
“Jesus, CC, why didn’t you tell me? That’s like… Isn’t that like one of the best nursing schools in the Northeast?”
She nodded, “Yeah. I didn’t tell you because it’s too much money, and even if we could come up with the money for me to go, you’d have nothing to live on. I just didn’t think it was feasible.”
“We’ll make it feasible. Jesus, this is huge, sis! Congratulations! I’m so damn proud of you!”
She smiled wide, tears in her eyes, “I’m kinda proud of me too, but Liam, it’s too expensive. I’ve gotten a big financial aid package with some scholarships, a grant, and a student loan, but even with all of that I’d still owe fifteen grand. They said I may qualify for a work study program that would knock another five grand off that, but that’s still ten thousand dollars, Liam. And that’s just for the first year. Each year, I’d have to go through the whole process all over again and see how the numbers fall. And you need money to live on too.”
“I’ve got money saved. We’ll make this work. Let me worry about the money. No matter what happens with me, I need you to promise me you’ll go.”
She shook her head and crossed her arms over her chest. “I don’t go if you don’t go. And I can wait you out until the first of May, when I have to give my decision to the schools that accepted me.”
“CC, I could talk to this guy Tommy, and in the end, he may be like, sorry, kid, you’re not the one for him. What then?”
“We’ll cross that bridge when we come to it. For now, accept his offer and see where it goes. Please, Li.”
He stared at her for what felt like minutes, but was probably only a couple seconds, before he nodded, agreeing to what he’d wanted to do in the first place. She crashed into him and gave him an exuberant hug, telling him thank you over and over again. When she pulled back, she wiggled her eyebrows. “Better tell Tommy that his daddy’s got himself a new boy.”
“Jesus, CC. Get outta here.”
She laughed as she gathered up her acceptance letter and skipped to the door. “Can’t wait to hear all about your training.”
He threw his pillow at her and missed by a mile.
