The Island by Mia Silverton (18)

Chapter 20

Doing things his way meant that Brody got to whisk Cassie away in style. He didn’t really think of it as showing off, but hell, he liked the fact of having reached the point in his career where he didn’t have to deal with congested airports, crowds, crappy food, and annoying delays anymore. More importantly, flying privately meant he didn’t have to worry about tripping over paparazzi or fans tweeting out his photo. Not that he didn’t love and appreciate his fans but a guy was entitled to a personal life. He gave enough of himself during press tours and other things that he did. Privacy was important. Especially when he had a lady with him, and Cassie was his lady in every definition of the word. She meant the world to him, and by whatever means necessary, Brody would protect her from the insanity other stars purposely put themselves through in the game of self-promotion.

Traveling by private means eliminated all of those hassles and then some.

The plane picked up Cassie first, since she was in St. Louis, then landed in Dallas for him. Brody walked out onto the tarmac and up the stairs toward the most gorgeous set of legs standing there at the top dressed in a pretty green summer dress and wedge sandals that showed off candy-pink painted toenails. The view traveled upward from there and ended with beautiful sparkling eyes, a happy smile, and sexy red waves of hair tossing in the wind. The fact that Cassie practically launched herself at him and almost knocked him back down the stairs only made it better.

Catching and lifting her high, Brody grinned at her smiling face before lowering her to take that gorgeous mouth he’d been forever without. Her taste blew clean up and through him, making everything settle into a pulsing hum of raging need.

“Hey there, handsome. Ready to sweep me away?”

Shifting his arms under Cassie, Brody ducked through the plane door to carry her inside. “Damn right. Thought today would never get here.”

He tucked her into a chair and sat next to her. It was a shame they were taking off immediately, according to the steward. He would have loved to have a more thorough greeting.

“Do you know everything in here is amazing? This plane is somehow fancier than the one from Salt Lake City. The captain even let me come up front on the way down.” She rubbed her hands in glee over the experience then pulled him back in for another smack on the lips. “I missed you.”

“How much?”

“A lot. I even bought you some new things to tear off me.”

His appreciative grin was all the answer Cassie needed to see.

Deciding that there was no point in waiting, since he was losing his mind, as soon as they hit flight level, Brody flicked open Cassie’s seat belt and his own. Tugging her up to her feet, he started toward the bathroom in the rear of the plane. Unlike commercial planes, this one was larger than your average coffee cup. Pulling open the door, he guided Cassie inside, ignoring her snickering whispered protests. Following her in, he shut the door, and backed her right up against it so he could feast on those incredible lips. Her arms came up to wrap around him like a siren of old, pulling Brody under and into her spell. So much so, he felt as if he were drowning.

“God, I missed you so much, baby.”

Her breath was skipping like music in his ears. “So much. I missed you too, Brody. I can’t believe how much. Touch me.”

She fought to get his shirt off, and it landed in the bathroom sink. Brody’s hands slid up to cup and mold around her body before he shoved aside the dress to bare each beautiful mound.

“Sundresses are one of my favorite things about summer heat.” He nuzzled one already hardened bud with his lips. “Easy access.”

His tongue swirled tighter and tighter around her nipple before he drew it into his mouth. Cassie’s moan echoed in the space as she arched to meet him. Impatient to feel more, he let his hands roam freely along her sides and around to cup that fantastic toned ass —

Pulling back in shock, his eyes widened in appreciation. “You’re not wearing anything under this dress.”

Cassie smiled at him shyly. “I had a feeling you might not be in the mood to wait based on our phone calls.”

Need threatened to overrun good sense, and it was a struggle to chain down the ravenous beast inside him.

“Ever been to the mile high club?” Knowing without a doubt that Cassie was going to shake her head, he teased along her neckline when she did exactly that. “That’s a shame. We better get that checked off your list, all right?”

Her hands drifted down to his pants to tug open the belt and undo the snap and zipper. Brody’s breath came hot and fast on her skin when her delicate hands found and freed him. Those same sweet hands about almost made him embarrass himself like a first-time kid in high school. Pulling away, he went down on his knees, desperate for the taste of that silken heat. Brody nudged her legs apart and eased her hips forward to take advantage of Cassie in every wicked way he knew of until she was screaming his name and fisting his hair.

Unable to wait any longer, he stood and grabbed her ass to boost her up, pinning her to the door. She was so petite and perfect. Every. Single. Inch. Locking his mouth on hers, Brody knew her moan was from the echo of the taste of herself on his lips. One sure move later, he was buried deep with that slick heat closing around him like a homecoming, and his own groan tore out to match Cassie’s.

Beautiful hazel eyes met his, and he fell into them.

Home. God, he was home.

Finally, he had her in his arms again. This beautiful woman. His Cassie, whose light shone bright and clear. A light he drowned in as he moved inside her. Surrounded by that light, consumed by it, they burned so bright until Brody’s world burst into flame and he poured himself inside her with a guttural growl of sheer heaven.
