Chapter Twenty

 

Ella

The doctor just finished checking on my stitches and making sure that I was healing properly when the door opens. I quickly pull up my pants before whomever is barging in gets an eyeful.

“Ella, Ella, Ella. It’s about time that I got you alone.” When I hear the deep voice that haunts my dreams, I freeze.

Slowly, I lift my head up to see if my ears are betraying me.

When my eyes meet his black ones, and observe the evil smirk on his face, I know that what I’m seeing is real.

Demon.

I swallow a lump in my throat.

“What do you want?” I’m not stupid, I know what he wants, but I hope to stall him so that Damien can come in here before he takes me.

“I told you that I was coming for you, Ella. All I needed to do was wait for one little slip up to make my move. I’m a patient man, but not today. I’ve been waiting a long time for this moment. You either come with me now, or I’m going to start shooting up the waiting room where Damien, your brother, and your son are. Your choice, but choose fast because I won’t hesitate to kill everyone you love. Starting with your son,” he smirks at me.

We both know that he has me right where he wants me. I nod my head, and quickly put my shoes on. Before I can head out the door, he quickly stabs the doctor in the side. I try hard to stop my scream so that he doesn’t hurt anyone else. I throw my hand over my mouth to muffle my scream.

“That’s just in case you didn’t know how serious I was about you, Ella. A lot of people’s lives lay at your hands now,” he says with a cold look in his eyes. When I’m close enough, he grabs my arm and twists it behind his back. The knife he is holding is now digging into my skin through the fabric of my shirt.

He starts pushing me along to the back exit of the doctor’s office. When I am outside, he throws me into an SUV, and I see Pyro lying on the ground with blood surrounding him. That’s when the tears start falling. I can’t tell if he’s dead or alive from this angle, but Demon, and the other men that I now notice are also in the vehicle, laugh at my distress.

“We had no choice, Ella. If you wouldn’t have been hiding from me behind those pussies, Vicious Snakes, then I wouldn’t have had to do it,” Demon says in a cold tone. His voice is flat and void of any emotion.

I know I’m in hell now, and I don’t know if anyone will ever find me. The club had been looking for all of these guys for weeks. I just have to get them far away from my family, and then I need to think of something to do. If I’m going down, they sure as fuck are coming with me.

 

Damien

We don’t waste any time getting back to the clubhouse. Torch made sure that Pyro went to the hospital. Those fuckers shot him, but I don’t know the damage yet. I couldn’t think about that while my woman was out there with that monster. Every brother is on his bike waiting. I pull up and quickly hand Derek over to Lily. I need to save his mom.

I get on my bike with my brothers at my side. We are going to search high and low for this fucker. No way could he have gotten far.

This is our town, and he stepped in the wrong motherfucking territory.

They won’t be on their bikes, or we would have heard them. We have brothers all over town.

We split up down the streets seeing if we can catch the fucker from any angle.

When I look up, I see a black SUV swerve close to the lights. That fucker is going to run a red light. I look to the brothers at my side, and they are thinking the same thing as I am.

I keep my eyes on the SUV. It runs the red light, and gets hit by two cars on either side of it. It was like the fucker was asking to get hit. When the SUV rolls, and one of the bodies gets thrown from it, I see a black leather cut. Motherfucker. That has to be them.

We increase our speed, and pull up to the scene. When I stumble on the guy, the cut says Devil’s Souls MC.

I look back at the SUV, and see movement. We all take off running to the vehicle in hopes of finding Ella in there.

When I pull open the door to the back of the car, I see Demon. That fucker. When he sees me, his eyes widen. I hear more bikes pull up to the scene. I grab Demon and pull him out. Bear, Blade, and Kid are all standing there. Prez pulls up just as I am throwing Demon to my brothers’ feet.

“Take him back to the clubhouse. We have some unfinished business with this fucker.” Just then, Torch pulls up with a van so that we can place all the Devil’s Souls inside. We aren’t letting these fuckers get away.

When I look in the backseat, Ella is laying on the roof of the SUV. She’s bleeding, but it’s hard to see from where. Her eyes aren’t open, but I put my fingers to her neck hoping to find a pulse.

“Fuck,” I grumble when I finally find one. I don’t move her in case there is damage that I can’t see. The brothers take all of Devil’s Souls out of there, and everyone leaves but Prez and me. There is an ambulance that pulls onto the scene. They run out to us.

“I didn’t move her. I just made sure that she was still breathing,” I tell them.

“Are you family?” the guy asks.

“Yeah, she’s my woman, and he’s her dad. She had a baby two weeks ago,” I tell them as they place a neck brace around Ella. They tell me that they are just putting it on for safety precautions.

They nod at me, and we follow behind the ambulance on our bikes.

I call the sheriff, and tell him what happened. We have him on our pay roll, so we know he has our back. He has helped us out of more messes than I can count.

Prez calls Lily and tells her that we found Ella but she isn’t in good shape. He also sends Kid out to get some formula for Derek since we don’t know how long Ella will be out. We refuse to believe that she will be taken from us when we had finally just gotten her in our lives.
