Curtis and Sierra were waiting for us when we left our Biology test. We made a quick stop because the guys wanted to get snacks and Sierra wanted some trash magazines for the trip. While they grabbed what they wanted I put twenty dollars into the lotto vending machine. I got tickets for the weekend drawings and used the rest for scratch tickets. Alfred and Norma were ready to roll out by the time we got there. We loaded our stuff and Alfred wasted no time before putting it in drive and just like that we were off on our four hour drive. Curtis sat shotgun and kept Alfred company. Words couldn’t express the amount of respect I had for Alfred and Norma, they were getting up there in age but certainly didn’t act like it. About an hour out from our final destination Steve reminded me to touch base with Calvin since he would probably arrive before we did. When I got my phone I saw several text messages waiting, two from Calvin telling me where he’s at.
