Finding My Way Home (Doyle Global Securities Book 2) by Kendel Duncan (5)

Five

Ten felt like he’d entered another dimension, or era, or planet.  “What the fu….?” he whispered but then snapped his mouth shut when Morgan’s head snapped around and pinned him with a shut the fuck up look.

This was like Men in Black times a thousand kind of shit when it came to the technology in the room, and that was just the shit he could see.  There was more stuff behind the closed doors scattered throughout the large room that he was currently standing on the edge of.

“Good to see you again, Lieutenant Doyle,” a young man said as he hurried by, obviously in a hurry to get somewhere.

“Welcome back, LT,” another man said as he rushed by.

Everyone seemed to be in a hurry around this place. Everyone except the man currently striding towards them from the far side of the room.

Oh boy.  This man exuded so much power that Ten had to fight the urge to step behind Morgan and cower.

“Easy, Ten,” Morgan mumbled from his tight lips.

The man had shiny black hair, short but not a military crew cut. His was slicked back.  A strong, sharp jawline that looked like it was chiseled from marble, full rose-colored lips that were pinched tight in a grimace, a thick, muscular body that looked like it was barely being contained inside the khaki uniform. To Ten, the man’s body looked like it was perched on the edge of hulking out, shredding that uniform into a thousand pieces, his huge muscles bulging and contracting everywhere.

But all of that wasn’t the most frightening thing.

No.

It was his eyes.

His eyes were black as kohl.  And they felt like they were looking inside Ten’s head and seeing everything in there, including the things that he hid from himself.

He barely contained his shiver as the man’s eyes shifted to him and quickly gave him a once over before looking back at Morgan.

“Doyle,” he said with a dip of his chin.

“Dragon,” Morgan replied.

Dragon?  This fucker’s name was Dragon?

Well……fuck.

“Am I to understand this is not a social call?”

Ten’s eyes flicked between the two men.  Social call?  Social…..

Ten snorted a laugh.

Morgan turned and glared at him.

Ten tried to everything he could – pinching his lips together, digging his fingernails into his fists – but still another snort rang out.  And then another.  And then he was fucking laughing.

Morgan turned and glared at him, “Care to share what’s so funny, asshole?”

“Does Luther know that this guy is your ex?  Cause I’d love to see the jealousy that he puts out as he tries to become Luther the Dragonslayer.”

Morgan glared.

Ten laughed.

And Dragon snorted.

“You too?” Morgan said with a growl as he turned back to look at Dragon.

“You have to admit it’s pretty fucking funny, Morgan.”

“I should’ve brought him with me just to shut you up,” Morgan mumbled under his breath.

“Yeah?  Your man that good?”

“My man loves me enough to try,” Morgan snapped.

“Oh, ouch.  Stop being a bitter ex, Morgan.  So, I didn’t fight for you, fight for us.  You got what you wanted, didn’t you?”

Morgan blew out a breath as he nodded, “Yeah, I did,” he whispered as he lifted his hand and fingered his ring.  “Look, can we not lay our history out for everyone to see?  We need a room, Trent.”

Dragon lifted an eyebrow as he crossed his big arms, “Yeah?  There’s a Holiday Inn two miles down the road.  I hear they have showers big enough for two,” he said with a smirk and a quick wink at Ten.

Ten barely refrained from rolling his eyes.

“Trent,” Morgan growled.

“Morgan.”

Now Ten did roll his eyes, “Who’s got a ruler?”

Both men looked confused as they frowned at him.

“What?”

“You can’t have a dick measuring contest without a ruler.  Who’s got one?  Cause I left mine at home.”

Dragon snorted a laugh, “I like him, Doyle.  He work for you?”

Morgan frowned, “He does.  Why?”

“So, I know where to find him when I need my dick sucked.”

“Fuck you, Trent,” Morgan growled.

Ten’s mouth gaped open.

Dragon leered at him, “Yeah, just like that, baby,” he said as he reached over to trace Ten’s lips with his thumb.

Ten could feel Morgan’s body vibrate with anger.  “If you lay one motherfucking finger on him,” Morgan growled.

Dragon grinned at him, “Just my thumb, baby, just my thumb.”

“Do.  Not.  Call. Me. Baby.”

“Aw, does that bring back too many memories, Morg?”

“Trent, I swear to….”

Dragon threw his head back and laughed, “I’m just fucking with ya, Morg.  Come on, I’ll get you set up,” he said as he turned on his heal and began walking through the cavernous room.

Ten opened his mouth to say something but Morgan held up his hand, “Not one word, Ten.  Not one fucking word.”
