Quarterback Baby Daddy (A Secret Baby Sports Romance) by Claire Adams (35)

Chapter 35

Liza

I felt as if I were standing at the base of a giant V. One path led to my normal life. A life that included me and Ainsley living in the same apartment I had been in since she was born. It was just me and her. The other leg of the V was a life with Milo that would most likely include some rough patches, but it would also include companionship and great sex. Boring and normal versus challenging and exciting.

He didn’t say he loved me. He said he thought he loved me. I couldn’t say I loved him because I didn’t know him all that well.

“Milo,” I repeated his name, hoping the right answer would tumble out of my mouth.

I didn’t know what the right answer was. I was being pulled in two different directions. In the very short amount of time I had spent with Milo, I only actually liked him for about half of it. I wasn’t sure that was the best way to start out a relationship.

“Think about it,” he said. “Don’t answer right now.”

I nodded my head in agreement and began to pace the living room, taking in the size of the room and admiring the natural light. In my head, I was already placing furniture and decorating the damn place. It was too easy to jump in with both feet. It was a decision that needed to be mulled over. That was the rational side of me. Then there was that irrational side that Milo seemed to bring out.

“I hate the press,” I said, spinning around to look at him.

“The press isn’t going to be around forever. I’m not that exciting, and neither are you. It’s a headline that’s going to get boring very quickly. No one cares,” he said.

I walked to the kitchen. It was big enough, but there were no appliances. The gold laminate was ugly and in bad shape.

“I won’t cook you steak or bacon,” I said, running my hand over the dusty counter top.

“You don’t have to. It’s better if I cut out some red meat anyway.”

He started walking towards me. Adrenaline was pumping through my veins as the idea of living in the bungalow with him started to take hold. I had to turn him down, I knew that, but somewhere inside me, I knew I wouldn’t.

“I don’t want any more kids,” I said, holding up a hand and stopping his advance.

He cocked his head to the side. “We’ll have to talk about that one a bit more. We make beautiful babies.”

I shook my head. “No.”

“Fine, I’ll agree to that for now, but I will need a lot of practice to make sure I stay in shape for when you decide you do want my baby,” he said with that sexy grin on his face that had a way of making my panties wet.

“I could use a little more practice,” I said huskily.

He lunged forward and kissed me. The kiss was passionate and full of need. We had been apart for too many days. I was desperate to have him pushing into me.

Before I knew what he was doing, he scooped me up and started carrying me down the hallway.

“What are you doing?” I asked, nervous excitement racing through my veins.

“I want to christen the house. I plan on having you in every room, but we should start with our room first.”

“Milo,” I hesitated, thinking of the dust and grime I had witnessed throughout the house.

“Shhh,” he murmured, leaning down to kiss me before he walked through the doorway of what was to be our bedroom.

He deposited me in the center of the room. I raised an eyebrow, wondering what he had in mind. I looked down at the hardwood floors covered in a layer of dust and then looked back up at him.

“Hold on,” he said racing out of the room and returning seconds later with a blanket. He was ripping it out of the plastic bag it was in and spread it on the floor.

When he had smoothed it out enough to his satisfaction, he turned back to me. The heat in his eyes sent a shiver down my spine.

“Now, where were we?” he said, moving towards me.

I smiled. “Right here.”

He reached out and unbuttoned the top button of my shirt. He used one finger to spread the collar wide, staring at the small V of skin he had exposed. Then he moved it down and undid the next button and on down the row until my shirt hung open.

He reached one huge hand into my shirt, his hand touching my skin causing goosebumps to jump out all over my body. The heat scorched my skin. I stood there, breathing heavily, anxiously awaiting his next move.

His hand moved over the lace cup of my bra before moving up to my shoulder and pushing the shirt down my arm. I was growing desperate for more, but I wouldn’t rush this. Every time we came together, it was always frenzied. He wanted it slow. I would fight back the urge to jump him. It was excruciating, but I could do it, for him.

“I want to kiss you,” he whispered.

I turned my mouth up to his and parted my lips.

He stared down at my lips. “Not there.” His hand reached between my legs. “Here.”

I nearly passed out.

His hands moved up to the button of my jeans and slowly unzipped them. I wanted to help, but his words had stunned me. His hands pushed the jeans down my hips. I managed to kick off my shoes before he dropped to his knees in front of me to pull my pants off one foot, then the other. His face was hovering over my crotch, the heat of his breath making me wetter with each breath.

“Lay down,” he ordered.

I sat on the blanket, feeling extremely nervous. He dropped to his knees in front of me and kissed me. It was a slow, deep kiss. As he kissed me, he put a hand on my back, supporting me as he pushed me backward onto the blanket. His mouth moved over my collar bone then down to my breasts, kissing me through the lace. With one quick move, he slid a hand under my back and unhooked the bra, pulling it away with a swift motion. His teeth pulled one erect nipple then moved to the next.

“Milo,” I groaned. Each tug of my nipple created a firestorm in my belly. The lava pooling between my legs was slowly deteriorating my will to let him go slow.

“Relax,” he whispered as his mouth trailed down my stomach. “I want to love your body with my mouth.”

His hand ran down the inside of my thigh. He applied gentle pressure pushing my legs wide. My heart raced as he pulled my panties down. I wanted to close my legs and cover myself, but I couldn’t move. Once the panties were out of the way, he pushed my legs wide. I could feel the change in him; his eagerness was making him clumsy.

“Milo, please,” I whispered.

With two fingers he opened me and then slowly licked.

I screamed out. Never had I ever experienced something so good. He ran his tongue over my clit, before shoving his tongue inside. My eyes squeezed shut. All my focus was on that one part of my body that he was lavishing with his tongue.

His teeth found the little nub, and he began to nibble while he slid a finger inside me. In a matter of seconds, my body shattered into a million pieces as the orgasm tore through me. His mouth stayed between my legs, lapping and extending the orgasm. My body felt as if it was floating.

Milo was kissing my naval and then my breasts as I managed to return to my body.

“You’re beautiful. I want you with me, here in this house,” he murmured into my ear as he moved over the top of me.

I spread my legs, bringing my knees up to my chest as he slid deep inside. A long moan escaped my mouth as he seated himself inside me. At that moment, it felt so right. Milo, me, the house, it was perfect. Thinking about spending every night with him, doing exactly this excited me. He pulled out and pushed in again with more force, sliding my body up the blanket.

He pulled me back down and thrust in again, over and over.

“Milo!” I shouted as another climax slammed into me. He rocked into me, shouting out with his own climax.

He collapsed beside me, one of his heavy arms thrown over my breasts that were heaving up and down.

“Have I convinced you to move in?” he asked.

I laughed. “Oh, is that what you were just doing? Trying to convince me?”

“Not entirely, but if that will work, I’m happy to keep trying.”

“I think I may need a little more convincing.”

His head popped up. “Give me five minutes. I’ll convince you.”

I rolled to my side, face to face with him. I stared into those blue eyes and saw a different man. He wasn’t the man I had thought he was all those years ago. This man was a good father. He had clearly not had an easy childhood. I wanted to ask him but wasn’t quite sure how to broach the subject.

“This is crazy. We don’t even know each other,” I told him.

“We’ll get to know each other. I know it isn’t conventional, but I think we’ve bucked convention already. There’s something between us,” he said.

I looked down at our naked bodies. “I won’t deny that.”

He reached out and touched my cheek. “No. More than sex. I felt it that first night we were together. I think the reason we have such great sex is because we are connected on a different level. I want that to grow.”

I sighed. “You are a complete contradiction.”

“What do you mean?”

“You, your reputation; everything about you says something different than who you really are. I think that’s what has always confused me. I’m trying to reconcile the man I know from school and the media with the man in front of me.”

“This is me. The person you see outside these walls isn’t me. You have to realize that now. I don’t like people to know who I really am so I created this personality for the media. It’s want they want to believe anyway, and it makes it easier for me,” he explained.

I touched his jaw. I liked the man in front of me. This was a man I could love, or maybe I already did love him. I didn’t know.

Flopping on my back, I threw an arm across my brow as I mulled over my future. Did I dare take him up on his offer? Was it even a question? I already knew what I was going to do.

I sat up and looked down at him as a sudden realization popped into my head. “I’m going to have to talk to the press, aren’t I?” I asked in horror.

He sat up, that familiar grin on his face. “I’m afraid so, but only once. Give a short and sweet statement, and it will be done.”

I groaned, but the irritation was short-lived. His mouth was on mine, and I knew I was in for more persuasion tactics. I was looking forward to being persuaded.
