Vycon (Zenkian Warriors) (A Sci Fi Alien Abduction Romance) by Maia Starr (127)

GENERAL RENDOR MOSCURN

I watched as the rebels retreated. "Finock! We must cover that hole in the fence now! Gather the builders and rig something for now. Something that would disable a speeder from coming through again!" I shouted. He nodded in agreement and was on his way to carry out my orders. I went inside the supply warehouse with a blaster in my hands aimed in the dark maze of supplies. There were many wounded inside from both sides.

"Rebels! Lay down your weapons and you will be given treatment for your injuries!  You will be taken prisoner, but you will be an alive prisoner!" I shouted into the darkness. The sound of screeching became loud as blasters were slid across the floor at our feet. My guards picked them up and we began to secure the warehouse.

"Should we take the rebel injured into the reconstruction building?” I was asked.

"No, there are too many of them. We must keep them separated. Secure the mess hall and lay them on the tables. We will have a team there to attend to them. But make sure it is well guarded. I want at least thirty to forty warriors in there and I want all the rebels stripped searched for any devices or hidden weapons." He nodded at me and carried out my orders. I left the supply warehouse and made sure that there was a sound system in place for getting the injured off of the ground and to the place they needed to be. After I was sure that my plans were being carried out in a timely and clear manner, I ran over to the reconstruction building to see Lavender. I only hoped that Lavender had made it. As I jogged over there I searched the blue dirt to see if she was laying injured on the ground somewhere. I was thankful that I did not see her lying in a pool of her blood along the way. I would not be able to handle such a sight.

As I entered the reconstructionist building, the full amount of chaos hit me. There were so many injured and critically in danger. I immediately saw Lavender in her element. She was quickly attending to the injured with skill. She was right to have come here, though I would rather that she was safe underground. I ran over to her glad to put my hands on her once more. We rambled on together apologies and me giving a stern disappointment and her not following my orders. I was going to tell her that I loved her and that I wanted to be with her always when everything went black.

When I finally awoke I did not know how long it had been. I looked around to see that Lavender was asleep in a chair at my side.

"Lavender. Lavender…" I said louder. She woke up and smiled.

"Oh Ren! I am so glad you are awake! I was so worried," she said as she wrapped her arms around my neck and laid on my chest. Then she began to sob.

"It is all right," I said as I pushed my hand into her hair. I could tell that she was worried and exhausted and I wanted to give her some reassurance.

"I feel fine. I am going to be fine. How many hours was I out? What happened?"

"Hours? You have been out for two days. We were very worried that you were not going to make it. You lost a lot of blood. I am very angry with you. You had a slash to your artery in your arm and slowly leaked out a lot of blood over an hour or so throughout the battle. You could have died. How dare you do that to me!" she sobbed out the words. I was shocked that she said I was out for two days. The General in me quickly sat up and said, "Two days! There is much to be done! What of the fence? What about the injured?" I said suddenly feeling the pressure of my responsibilities.

"Lie down. It has all been taken care of. The fence has been repaired. The injured rebels have been mended and are imprisoned. Your orders were carried out clearly and systematically. You must rest."

I lied down feeling some relief. I looked at her and her soulful eyes and knew that she had repaired me. "Thank you. Thank you for reconstructing my body."

"You are welcome. I did not have a choice. You see I cannot live without you. Therefore I had to mend you."

"I am glad you feel that way. I love you. I am in love with you. I cannot live without you either. I apologize for all that I put you through. I was a foolish ass that thought I was doing the right thing. I come from a long lineage of Kalazaron and it has been my destiny to continue that. Yet here I was almost in death and I would have missed out on enjoying my time with you now for some far off future that may or may not happen. I do not want to live that way. I want to live in the now, with you. Do you accept my apology? Will you be with me? Will you be mine?"

I looked at her and she cried harder but she said nothing. Would she continue to deny me? She had said that she loved me, and I believed her. But that did not mean that she would agree to be with me, not after what I had put her through. Perhaps she thought that I should follow the Kalazaron way and couple with a Kalazaron female.

"Lavender? Say something," I said to her as I put my hand on her chin and lifted her face to mine.

"Yes. I accept your apology. I want to try this. I want to be with you in whichever way the Kalazaron allows us to be. Let's not live for the future, let us live for now. Any moment the rebels could return and steal away our last moments. Let those moments be moments of joy together."

I smiled at her in agreement. She leaned in and kissed me. I kissed her back. It was deep and passionate as though we were sealing a deal with a kiss. I was never happier than in that moment.
