Wild Thoughts by Charity Ferrell (4)

Zeth

Good morning, Zeth,” Sally greets when I walk into the kitchen and fall down on a stool. “I hope pancakes are okay.”

A full plate of food is dropped in front of me.

I met Sally last night. She’s their housekeeper, cook, and whatever the fuck else she does. She’s an older lady, most likely in her sixties given the wrinkles lying underneath her eyes, but she seems cool so far.

I pick up my fork. “My breakfasts usually consists of leftover pizza or Captain Crunch, so this is definitely okay.” I grab the syrup. “Is everyone else gone?”

“Your father left for work a few hours ago. Melinda is attending a charity brunch, and Addison is out for her morning run.”

She hands me a glass of orange juice. I’m not sure how I like this having someone serve me shit.

“If everyone is out, grab a plate and have a seat. It will be our little secret,” I say.

She gives me an amused smile. “I’ve already eaten my breakfast, but thank you for the offer. I’m allowed to take breaks. This isn’t a sweatshop.”

I chuckle. “Got it. Will you answer a question for me, though?”

She nods in response.

“What’s the deal with the daughter, Addison?”

I pride myself on quickly figuring people out. I know if they’re going to try to fuck me over, or if they’re decent, but I’m having a hard time with her. She puts off this whole I’m a virgin front, but I know deep inside there’s a rebellious fire burning.

“She’s a lovely girl. I’ve been working for this family since she was eleven, and I have no complaints.”

I raise a brow. “That’s it? That’s all you got for me?”

“I think you need to figure out who she is on your own, but I will tell you one thing.”

“What’s that?”

“There’s more to her than what you see.”

She grabs a handful of dirty dishes and starts washing them. I spin around in my seat when I hear the door open, and my eyes widen when I find Addison walking in.

She’s wearing a pink sports bra that shows off her flat stomach and gives me a glimpse of her endless curves. Sweat is dripping from the bottom of the bra and falling down her smooth skin. Shorts so tight they’re like a fucking second skin stop at the top of her thighs. They look more like panties than they do shorts.

Fuck, the un-virginal girl trying to pull off the virginal act has a hot as fuck body.

If she were a virgin or didn’t have a boyfriend, if I knew she’d never had the feeling of a cock inside her, I’d be dragging her to my room right now and making it my fucking mission to break her in. A body that sweet deserves to be fucked and fucked right.

“Addison,” Sally says, breaking my attention. “I have your breakfast.”

“Mmmm… thanks,” she moans out.

I turn around and look away, telling my dick not to get excited when she sits down next to me.

She glances my way. “Good morning, Zeth.”

“Morning, princess.” I point to her plate. “What the fuck is that shit?”

“Eggs, hummus, and peanut butter toast topped with flax and pumpkin seeds.”

“It’s what? The only thing I got from that was eggs and those aren’t eggs. Your plate looks like breakfast for birds.”

“They’re egg whites, they’re healthier.” She scoops up a bite. “Want to try?”

I curl up my lip and swat her hand away. “Fuck no.”

“More for me then.” She shoves the fork in her mouth.

I shake my head at her. “Hey Sally, is there an extra car to use? I need to go job hunting.”

“There isn’t.” Sally pauses like she’s trying to figure something out. “I can ask your father if it’s okay to lend you mine. I don’t mind.”

“I can take you,” Addison rushes out.

“Appreciate it, but that’s not necessary,” I answer. “I’ll take Sally’s car or call a cab.”

“You’re going to be paying a butt load of cab fare around here. I don’t have anything to do. Getting out of the house sounds like a good idea today.”

“Cool, thanks.”

This is a bad fucking idea.

Addison finishes off her food. “Let me shower real quick, and then we can head out.”

Sally waits until Addison leaves the kitchen before resting her elbows on the counter and giving me a serious look. “I told you she’s a good girl. Don’t go breaking her heart. You hear me?”

“You don’t have to worry about that. I’m not planning on being here long.”

She wouldn’t want me. She likes boys who wear cargo shorts and fucking flip-flops.

* * *

My cock pulsates when Addison comes skipping down the stairs twenty minutes later.

Her tits bounce with each step, and I lick my lips with hunger. The yellow sundress hugging her curves shows off her toned legs. Her hair is wrapped up in some type of braid that’s running along the back of her ear, exposing her long neck.

“You ready to go?” she asks.

I take a step closer, noticing the hint of mascara on her lashes. Her plump lips are painted a pale pink. Even though she has the whole minimal, sweet girl look going on, she’s sure as hell working it.

The snap of her fingers in my face startles me. “You ready to go?” she repeats, whipping around and walking toward the garage.

I fix my eyes on her perfect little ass on my way out and whistle when I notice the white Mercedes sedan beep. “Damn, nice car. You buy this yourself?”

She climbs into the driver’s side. “As a matter of fact, I did.”

I slide into the leather seat. “Right …”

“I did pay for it myself,” she fires back, defensively.

“With what? Your sweet ass?”

“No, asshole. I paid for it with my trust fund money.”

I can’t help but burst out in laughter. “That’s not you paying for it. That’s mommy and daddy forking out their hard earned money to some spoiled rich girl. I bet you’ve never even had a job.”

I have a piece of shit Beretta at home that barely runs, but I worked hard for it. I was proud of myself when I got the keys after working all summer. The fucker has broken down on me a few times, but it’s still a trooper.

“Whatever,” she grumbles.

She slams her foot down on the gas pedal, and we go speeding down the driveway.

Damn, looks like I hit a sensitive spot.

“So tell me, why are you doing this?” I ask.

“I told you I have nothing else to do. I need some fresh air.”

“Fresh air? You could’ve gotten that anywhere.”

“Fine, I think you’re interesting. Plus, you’re like family now. I figured we should get to know each other.”

I point to myself. “Please tell me what makes me so intriguing to you, princess. That I don’t give a fuck? That I look different than your prim and proper family? Because I’ve been arrested?”

“You don’t care about authority or what people think about you. You say what’s on your mind. I wish I could be like that.”

“Trust me, you don’t want my shit. Keep walking down your goodie two-shoes trail, and you’ll find yourself a nice little life complete with a white picket fence.”

She rolls her eyes. “Forget it. Where do you want to look for a job?”

I scratch my head. “I’m not sure. You got any ideas? I’ll take anything right now.”

I spent almost all my money on legal fees and my plane ticket out here. I need to make money, and I need to make it fast, so I can get my own place for the next six months. I looked up jobs on Craigslist last night, but there wasn’t shit.

“You can try the country club. I know they’re hiring for the summer,” she suggests.

I snort, choking out a laugh. “I highly doubt they’ll hire me at a country club. Those places are filled with snotty assholes.”

“Not everyone there is a snotty asshole. We’re members, use your dad and me as references.”

I don’t want to work for guys who could qualify as Leonard’s twin. I’ll probably end up laying one of them out with my fist.

She catches onto my hesitation. “If you don’t want to, we can try other places, but you’ll make good money there. Members tip well when they’re drinking, which is almost always. They think the higher the tip they give, the richer they look.”

“They got any tattoo shops around here?”

That’s where I worked back in California, and I was finally starting to build up a decent client list before everything went down.

She keeps her eyes on the road. “Um … not that I know of.”

“Of course, you wouldn’t know.” My body jerks forward when she breaks hard at a red light.

“Quit being a dick to me, okay? I haven’t done anything to you. I’m trying to help you, and you’re doing nothing but acting like some raging douchebag.”

“You’re helping me in exchange of keeping my mouth shut about walking in on your boyfriend pounding into your pussy.”

“Tell on me then. I’m not going to play this game with you for the next six months. You’re not going to keep holding this over my head, ready to blackmail me at any time.”

She hits the gas when the light turns green, and we go rushing forward.

I grin and look out the window, happy with her being pissed off at me. I love girls with attitude, ones that don’t take shit. Maybe Sally was right. There might be more to Addison than I thought.

* * *

I filled out applications all morning, but none of them paid shit. There aren’t very many places around the Hamptons to work unless it’s at a restaurant or a tourist attraction.

“You hungry?” I ask. “I’ll buy lunch.”

She nods at the same time her stomach growls.

“I’ll take that as a yes.”

“Where to?”

“Your choice, being that you’re on some weird-ass diet.”

She scrunches up her face. “Weird ass diet? I eat perfectly normal.”

“Perfectly normal is pizza and burgers. You eat bird food and hummus, whatever that shit is.”

“Okay, first off, I eat burgers and pizza. I’ve eaten plenty of burgers and pizzas.”

“Oh really? How often do you binge on burgers and pizzas?”

“Every single day.”

I can’t hold in my smile. “Liar.”

“Once a week.”

“Liar.”

Her lips morph into a scowl. “Fine, once a month, you happy?”

“That’s better than what I thought.”

She pulls up to a small diner with only a few cars in the lot and puts the car in park. “This is one of my favorite places, and don’t worry, they have burgers for you.”

“That’s my girl,” I say, without thinking.

Her head whips around to look at me.

Why did I say that?

I don’t even say that to chicks back home. I think this East Coast air is making me crazy. I shrug off my comment and jump out of the car.

We give the waitress our order, and she brings out our drinks. I feel a sense of pride when Addison orders a bacon cheeseburger and fries–the same things as me.

“So I guess this calls for us to have a conversation,” she says.

I chuckle. “Unless you want to sit in silence then yes, that’s probably a good idea.”

“What do you want to talk about?”

I give her a look.

“I mean … what are things you enjoy?”

“I enjoy pussy, alcohol, and tattoos. What about you? Plaid skirts and Sunday brunch?”

She throws her straw wrapper at me. “I told you to quit being an asshole. And I highly doubt those classify as enjoyments.”

“Oh babe, they are definitely enjoyments.”

Her eyes deadpan on me. “Hobbies? You have any hobbies?”

She doesn’t like talking about sex. It makes her uncomfortable. I’ll have to rectify that.

“Pussy, alcohol, and tattoos.”

She gives me an annoyed look. “You’re incorrigible.”

I grin proudly. “I’ve been called worse.”

The waiter brings us our food, and we dig in.

“Why haven’t you visited before?” she asks, swallowing down a fry.

“I had no reason to.”

“Your dad said your relationship was strained, but he never talks about you.”

“Strained is an understatement. I detest the man.”

“Detest is a pretty strong word.”

I take a chug of my coke before answering. “My dad went to the same college as my mom in California. They started dating, and he knocked her up a few months later. When she told him she was pregnant with me, he insisted she get an abortion. When she refused, he left her. My mom had to drop out of school because she was on scholarship and couldn’t keep up with the required credits. It was too hard on her juggling a baby, a job, and school. Meanwhile, my dad was able to graduate and go on to law school. He’s now rich with a mansion while my mom works doubles waitressing.”

“Your dad didn’t help at all?”

I shake my head. “He didn’t come to one appointment with her. He wasn’t at the hospital when I was born. After a few years, he started to come around. He’d make an appearance every few years and tell my mom he wanted us to become a family. He’d get her hopes up and then bail again. He’s a fucking coward.”

She plays with the straw in her cup. “Wow, that’s an asshole-ish.”

I nod. “Damn straight.”

I don’t like talking about my personal problems. I don’t want people thinking I have daddy issues, because I sure as hell don’t. I don’t give a shit that my dad wasn’t in my life. I could’ve turned out to be some pompous prick like him.

She eyes my empty plate. “I don’t understand how you can eat all of that and have your body.”

I look at her in full cockiness, and her face shades with embarrassment. “My body? Have you been spying on me behind closed doors? Do I need to start checking my closet for you before I undress?”

“No, idiot. You decided to grace me with your naked chest last night, remember?”

“Ah … I forgot about that. Did you like what you saw?”

“Obviously. Your body is crazy perfect. It’s like your stomach is filled with ridges and valleys of muscle. It’s ridiculous.”

I grin at the compliment. Since I eat like shit, I work out like crazy. I joined a kickboxing gym with my best friend, Kelton, to make sure I stay in shape.

“You’ve seen mine. I think it’s only fair I see yours.”

She bites into the end of a fry. “Not happening, homeboy. I wish I could eat like shit and still look good.”

I scowl at her. “What the fuck are you talking about? Your body is sexy as fuck.”

Usually, when girls bitch about their bodies, it pisses me off because I know they’re fishing for compliments. But I have a feeling Addison is being serious. She’s self-conscious, even though she has no fucking reason to be.

“It’s good to have a curvy body, to look like a woman,” I go on. “Those boobs and that ass, those are good fucking things. If any man tells you different, stay the fuck away from him because he’s fucking crazy.”

* * *

“I’m telling you, this isn’t a good idea,” I say, looking at the brick building from Addison’s car.

The country club is bigger than I thought it would be. They don’t have this kind of shit in my neighborhood. There’s a pool in the back, and kids are running around. Women are lying out with big ass hats on their heads and drinks in their hands.

“Quit being a pansy,” Addison says, killing the engine. “I’ll come in with you and hold your hand.”

I shake my head, and she can’t hold back her smile.

“I see you do have a little smart mouth on you.” I’ve surprisingly had fun hanging out with her today. “It’s not about me being a pussy. It’s about me not wanting to be around arrogant bastards like Leonard. I don’t want to get arrested.”

“Has anyone suggested you work on your anger management skills?”

“A few times, yes.”

“I see you took their advice.” She steps out of the car. “If you need bail money, give me a call. I’m a trust fund kid who doesn’t pay for anything and gets money handed to her.”

I sense the edginess in her voice. “Sounds good, thanks.”

“Oh, and this trust fun kid charges a twenty percent interest rate. So I’d keep your mean ass out of trouble if I were you.”

* * *

“Addison said you filled out an application at the country club today,” Melinda says.

Dinner is spaghetti with no bread. Who the fuck eats spaghetti without garlic bread? I guess Addison isn’t the only one on some bullshit diet.

“What?” my dad asks, nearly choking on his red wine. “You applied for a job at my country club?”

“I wasn’t aware you owned it,” I answer sarcastically. I grin when I notice the fire light up in his eyes. “And the good news is I got it.”

The manager there was surprisingly cool. I’m also sure it helped that Addison was up their ass to give me a job. I guess the girl has some pull around there.

“You’re going to call the club and decline,” Leonard says. “Tell them you’ve made another choice.”

“Yeah, that’s not happening. The faster I make money, the sooner I’m out of here.”

He slams his hand on the table. “I will not be embarrassed by you.”

“Leonard,” Addison whispers.

Melinda stares at him in shock. I bet he’s never shown them the jackass he is in front of them. They’ve never seen the real Leonard Isaacson, the man who walked out on his girlfriend because she inconveniently got knocked up with his child.

“What do you have to be embarrassed about?” I question. “That I’m your bastard son? Or that I look different than all of you people?”

“You act like a disrespectful prick; that’s why.”

“The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, does it?”

He scoffs.

“I’ll only work there a few months, save money, and get the hell out of here. Isn’t that what you want?”

He wipes his mouth with a napkin. “That’s exactly what I want.”
