The Madam by M Robinson (31)

Chapter 31

A year went by and everything was perfect, which should have been my first suspicion. All of my girls were handpicked by me, other than my Brooke, but nothing could have prepared me for the indiscretion that was about to happen on her part as well as one of my loyal clients. Brooke quickly became like a daughter to me, there was something about her that just stood out and I admired that. Each of my VIPs had their own flavor to them, however when Brooke walked into a room, they always stared at her first. She knew it as well as I did.

Jaxon was one of my high profile clients and he had been with me for years. He worked in politics and was the epitome of a happily married man with children, in public. He had been with several of my girls more than once, but the moment he met Brooke he was struck. I allowed it because it wasn’t unusual for one of my clients to fall for my girls; they were treasured jewels and any man was lucky to have an hour with them. He started to request only her and much more frequent than he ever asked for any of my ladies.

I trusted my girls to never fuck with their hearts.

Brooke and I were always close and I could read anyone like a goddamn book, so when she started to change I immediately noticed it. Although, Brooke wasn’t the one to disclose her little secrets, Jaxon did all that on his own.

“Why did you want to meet with me?” I interrogated one afternoon when Jaxon showed up uninvited. The dark circles around his eyes made it evident that he hadn’t slept in days.

His hands brushed back his hair in a repetitive movement that just added to his disheveled appearance.

“I fucked up, Madam. I royally fucked up,” he wallowed.

“Stop being a pussy and start from the beginning.”

He sighed, leaned over, and placed his hands on his head. “During the last business trip I took Brooke on, she forgot her birth control. I thought we were careful.”

I cut him off not wanting him to say the words. “You thought? Please tell me you aren’t about to say what I think you’re implying.”

“Yes…” he whispered.

“How far along?”

“Six weeks.”

I shook my head in disbelief. “Let me get this straight! You take one of my girls on a business trip and you think you’re careful and now I have a situation that I have to deal with, complimentary of you? Did I get it right? Please let me know if I carelessly missed something as important as not sticking my fucking cock into pussy that is unprotected!”

“Madam-”

I couldn’t hear another excuse he had to share. “Take care of it,” I roared without hesitation.

“What? How?”

“Don’t make me spell it out for you! You work in politics, make it go away.”

“I love her,” he divulged, looking me straight in the eyes.

I crossed my arms. “Oh yeah. You love her? Well then excuse me, I had no idea that this child was made out of love. Please let me start over; when exactly did you get a divorce?”

“Don’t patronize me. I am not a fucking child. I know the fucked up situation that we find ourselves in but that doesn’t change the fact that I love her. I’ve never met anyone like her and if things were different, it would be her on my arm and not my wife. I married my wife because I work in politics and you more than anyone knows what is appropriate and what is not.”

I laughed, “Right. Then let me make it crystal fucking clear for you Mr. Bureaucracy, how is it going to look when the tabloids get wind of your love child? Huh? Are they going to understand because you were in love? Does that make what you did anything other than adultery? I’m just an outsider looking in and from here, it looks like you got one past the goalie with your play toy. Congratulations, your boys can still swim,” I mocked.

His head spun with all the truth that I spoke. I took the opportunity to keep going.

“This is how it’s going to go. You are going to tell Brooke she needs to get an abortion as soon as possible. You are going to make her believe it’s the right thing to do and that of course, you will be there for her every step of the way. When the time comes, you won’t show up. I don’t think it needs to be said that you are no longer a client of VIP.”

“What?” he stated in shock.

I smiled. “If you would like to continue in your house of corruption then I highly suggest that you do exactly what I say or else I will take care of this.” I kneeled down close to this face and looked him square in the eyes. “Trust me…you don’t want that to happen.”

“Madam…” he whimpered.

“Answer this, Jaxon. Are you going to leave your family for her? If you are, I will let her go.” I waited for the response I already knew he was going to give. It was always the same fucking answer; it didn’t change just because it was a different man in the situation.

He shook his head no. “Then you have your work cut out for you. Get the fuck out of my office and do what needs to be done.” He nodded and walked out of VIP.

I know what you’re thinking…you hate me don’t you?

It’s all right, I didn’t write this for you to love me. I don’t care if you love me. I don’t care if you hate me. But before you judge me, take a second and look at how he jumped on the opportunity to make it all go away. See…that’s the thing about love.

It fucks you.

There is never a happily ever after, that’s only in books. You have to make your own fairy tale, you don’t wait for someone to do it for you; and if you do, I suggest you sit down, your legs will ache by the time you realize that it’s not coming.

Men think with their dicks and that’s exactly why all the blood flows there when they are hard. They can’t multitask to save their lives. I wasn’t bluffing when I said I would have given her up, I would have done it in a heartbeat to have someone prove me wrong. Oh yes, the big bad Madam isn’t as evil as you think she is, I do enjoy being right, don’t doubt that, but that doesn’t mean that I wouldn’t enjoy to see this so-called love prevail.

I am a woman.

Brooke called me 3 weeks later to have lunch on South Beach. I knew what was coming but she didn’t have to know that, we ordered our food and I waited patiently for the bomb to drop.

“I can’t work for a month, Madam. I need some time off,” she finally revealed, it only took her ten minutes. It made me proud.

“Oh yeah, why is that?” I countered.

“I’m looking for some me time. I think I need a break for a bit; I’m getting burnt out,” she stated, keeping my gaze.

“You know, Brooke, being Madam entails a lot of accuracy. I have my eyes and ears everywhere and I know when one of my girls is lying to me. Why don’t you try that again, but this time be honest. I am here for you; I don’t need to remind you of that.” She bit her lower lip and burst into tears.

You gotta love hormones.

“I don’t even know where to start. I got caught up in it all, Madam,” she cried, wiping away her tears. “I swear to you I didn’t mean for any of it to happen, but I believed him every time he told me he loved me. He seemed honest and sincere. I promise I would never be that girl. I don’t know how he was able to fool me so well. I just got lost…I have never had someone treat me like he did. I swear, I swear I would never disrespect you and everything that you have done for me. I love you,” she wailed uncontrollably.

I pulled her into a real and tight embrace. My heart did break for her, but she needed to learn now that she couldn’t rely on anyone other than me. This was a punishment as much as a reassurance. I rubbed her back and let her cry on my shoulder for as long as she needed, her tears started to subside and I grabbed her face, wiped away the tears, and kissed her forehead.

“Start from the beginning. What happened?”

“Okay…” She sniffled while she grabbed a napkin to fix the running mascara down her face. “Jaxon and I got close,” she admitted, trying to gauge my reaction.

“One thing led to another and I ended up pregnant.” Her eyes glistened with new tears. “I had an abortion, Madam, and he didn’t even show up for me, for us. I went through it all by myself and I can’t even get a hold of him, he’s changed his phone number and I have no idea where he lives,” she bawled.

I should have felt remorse as I watched her fall apart, especially since I myself went through the same emotions that she was going through; however, I didn’t. I did the right thing. You may not agree with me, but at the end of the day, all she needed was me and VIP. We were her fairy tale and now she would know it. There is a very fine line between love and hate, and once it’s crossed you can’t ever go back. I made sure that I was there for Brooke for the next few months, although she came out of her depression on her own. Brooke was a survivor and that’s what makes her one of my favorites.

But it didn’t stop me from being The Madam.

I am the puppet master.
