Finally, Phillip: Rakes vs. Wallflowers by S Cinders (31)

I will not wait until I am certain they are finished… Elias

CHAPTER 32

It was mere moments later that Phillip and Eden heard a commotion just outside of Eden’s bedroom door. Although it was a bit muffled, the voices could still be heard clearly. There was a distinct pounding on the door.

“Randall, I know you are in there. Open this door at once.”

There was some more rustling outside the doorway, and Sophie’s softer tones could be heard.

“No, I will not wait until I am certain they are finished, Sophie! This is my house, and I will be damned if I will allow my wife to be awakened to the sound of another man demanding that someone look at his cock!”

Sophie’s squeak of alarm was quite clear.

“I don’t know why he thinks that I would allow him to fornicate with innocents under my roof. What kind of a man does he think I am?”

There was more rustling and then a giggle was heard, followed by a low moan.

Eden and Phillip were frozen in shock. They stared at each other before dissolving into laughter.

“I am not answering that door,” Eden said wide-eyed.

“I shouldn’t worry on it, love,” Phillip smiled down at her. “I would imagine that they are well on their way to doing some fornicating of their own. However, they are right - I should not dishonor you so. Please tell me that we may dispense with a long engagement? I could try and promise to stay away, but you and I both know that it would be broken in a day or two.”

Eden winked seductively, “Or by this afternoon.”

Phillip felt himself start to stir, “You really are a minx. I need to dress and leave before the rest of the household awakens.”

He leaned into her and kissed her passionately, pressing her back into the soft bed and reminding her of their amazing time together.

When he pulled away reluctantly, she struggled to catch her breath and he knew he had her.

“Short engagements are all the rage you know,” he encouraged, knowing that if he stayed a moment longer he would sink right back into her heat and he would never leave.

Eden grinned at him, “You don’t have to try so hard to convince me - I will marry you anytime, anywhere.”

He went to his jacket and pulled a small bag from his waistcoat pocket.

“I had meant to show this to you earlier, but this was my great grandmother’s wedding ring. I have carried it for several weeks now, dreaming of you wearing it. I know it’s not traditional, as it’s an emerald, but I wanted to see if you…”

Eden’s eyes grew misty as she looked at the beautiful intricately-carved roses in gold, with smaller emeralds surrounding a large emerald in the center. It was the most beautiful thing she had ever seen. And it was even more special to her that it meant something to him and that he wanted her to wear it.

He mistook her tears, “Of course, if you want something more traditional….”

She stopped him with her hand on his lips.

He glanced down at her. Her hair mussed from their night of loving, leaving her golden curls a riot all over, most falling down her back, but some covering her large breasts that were love bitten and red from his whiskers. She had love bites on her thighs as well as her breasts, and her lips were still swollen. He wanted more than anything to steal her away, to keep her like this forever and always.

“Can I put it on you?” he asked tentatively.

She nodded smiling shyly sticking out her left hand.

He slid it on her finger - it was the tiniest bit big, but she wouldn’t let him take it off.

“It’s perfect,” she whispered.

“You’re perfect,” he whispered and kissed her hand where his ring now sat. “You belong to me, and I want everyone to know it.”

They decided for Phillip to go home and change and then to come over ‘officially’ later in the day so that they could plan for their wedding, the one that they would have a soon as possible. Never could it be said that a couple was more in love than Eden and Phillip.

*****

Just as Eden had filled her plate and bid the other members of the house a happy good morning, a servant announced that Phillip had come calling. She almost dropped her bacon.

Sophie had the audacity to smirk, and Elias had a downright scowl upon his face. But upon seeing her puppy-dog eyes, he did allow Randall entry and asked if he wanted to join them in breaking his fast.

Never one to miss an opportunity to have a hearty meal, Phillip filled a plate and sat directly next to Eden. Making sure to rub her thigh generously upon sitting down, just for good measure, he was attentive and sweet.

Cece and Charles seemed to be enjoying the play-by-play of the morning’s events. It was too much to hope for that breakfast would go off without a hitch, though, because halfway through Cece had to go and blurt out the craziest of statements.

“It’s funny,” Cece grinned, “in the country we’ve gotten used to waking to the cock’s crow. But apparently here in the city you just wake to the cock. Is that how it works now? Charlie and I were uncertain, but we wanted to make sure that we knew the new rules. It was cock we heard the yelling about, was it not? Is that to be every morning then? Or just on special occasions?”

Charles burst out laughing, nearly spraying tea out of his nose.

Elias looked at his twin in horror, “C, show some decorum for once in your life!”

“Sorry, E, you of all people should know that I haven’t any,” Cece grinned back.

Charles tried to control himself, “I thought we had decided not to mention that, love.”

Cece grinned naughtily, “I know, but then Randall showed up here not an hour after his declaration and I just couldn’t help myself.”

Phillip addressed the group, his usual cocky arrogance firmly in place, “Look, it was a desperate situation. You’ve no idea what kind of torture I was in.”

The men looked impressed, and the women looked intrigued.

Phillip continued, “And I am not sorry I woke you all yelling about my cock. Besides the obvious embarrassment to her, of course - I am sorry about that, Eden.”

Eden flushed, “Pray do not mention it.”

Cece leaned in, “I want to hear more about this torture.”

“Me too,” Sophie nodded.

“Next Bluebell meeting,” Eden whispered, and the girls nodded.

“Anyhow, we have more important things to talk about,” Phillip smiled. “Let’s plan a wedding!”
