Going Commando (Heathens Ink Book 2) by K.M. Neuhold (19)

Royal

Panic and guilt clutch at my chest as I sit out on the front porch, trying to get my thoughts together.

The sound of the door opening behind me has me turning to see which of my men came out to check on me.

Without warning Nash snatches the cigarette out of my mouth and I have to clench my fist against the urge to hit him.

“Don’t fuck with me right now,” I warn, grabbing another cigarette and slipping it between my lips.

Nash ignores my warning and plucks this one away, too.

“I can do this until you’re out, I don’t mind.”

“I’m a little stressed, will you let me have some fucking nicotine already?”

“Hey Zade,” Nash calls out.

Zade’s head peaks out of the door.

“Do you want Royal to die of lung cancer or end up breathing through a tube in his throat?” Nash asks Zade.

Zade grimaces and shoots me an apologetic look.

“Of course I don’t.”

“Two against one,” Nash declares before reaching into my pocket and stealing the whole pack of cigarettes. “Looks like you’re officially a non-smoker.”

“I love you, Nash. But I’m about two seconds from punching you.” I blow out a frustrated breath. Then, I turn to face Zade as he steps out onto the porch. “The two of you ganging up on me right now is kind of bullshit.”

“We’re not ganging up on you, we’re trying to help,” Nash insists.

“How am I supposed to do this? I don’t know how to take care of a kid. Not to mention that I don’t know the first thing about how to help a trans kid cope. I don’t want to let him down.” I bury my face against Zade’s chest and breathe in his scent, using it to calm me.

Nash’s warm body presses against me from behind and I finally relax a fraction, having my men surrounding me, caring for me.

“We’re going to figure this out. You’re not in this alone,” Nash assures me.

“All three of us are here for Liam, we’re going to do right by him and give him the family he deserves,” Zade adds.

“I love you,” I say as gratitude for my men washes over me.

“Love you too, babe,” Zade says, tightening his arms momentarily and kissing me on the top of the head.

“Love you,” Nash adds, kissing the back of my neck.

Then Zade and Nash’s lips meet over my head and my heart stutters out a happy beat.

“Let’s go sit down and make a list. We’ve got a lot to figure out so we can take care of Liam,” Zade suggests.

I nod and join hands with each of my men as we head back into the house.

I grab a notebook and a pen and the three of us sit down on the couch, Royal’s legs draped over Nash and his head on my shoulder.

“We’re going to need to find a bigger place. Not that I mind sharing your bed on a permanent basis, but this place isn’t big enough for all of us,” Nash says as his hand lazily strokes up and down Royal’s calf.

“Oh my god, as long as we’re looking, we should try to find a place with a basement. Then, we could make it into a rec room like we always talked about,” Royal suggests to Nash with excitement.

A thread of jealousy weaves its way around my gut at the thought of the two of them looking at houses and building a home without me.

“Wouldn’t that be cool to have a basement full of arcade games and a pool table?” Royal directs the question at me.

I clear my throat and force a smile.

“Yeah, that sounds cool. I bet you’ll have fun building that together.”

“You think you’re going to get out of the heavy lifting?” Nash taunts. “It’ll be your house, too.”

“It will?” I ask in surprise.

“Well yeah. You’re going to move in when we’re all ready for that. Might as well start planning ahead.”

My heart nearly bursts out of my chest at Nash’s forgone conclusion that this thing between the three of us, however new and confusing it might be, will be long term, possibly even permanent.

“What? Why are you looking at me like that?” Nash squirms under my gaze.

“Just happy,” I assure him.

“Alright, new place is on the list,” I confirm. “We’ll need to talk to a lawyer who specializes in family law. That should be the first thing we do tomorrow. Ultimately I’m guessing we’re going to have to get Ray to sign away custody. We have to look into getting Liam enrolled in school. And, I think it should be a top priority to find him a therapist who will be able to discuss options for hormone therapy, transition, whatever he has questions and wants to talk through. You have to get signed off by a therapist for a doctor to do any of that stuff, anyway.”

“How do you know all that?” Royal asks. “I had no idea that a therapist was the way to go to help Liam figure out his options.”

“Before I joined the Marines I got my undergrad in psychology. I was interested in particular in helping transgender people,” I admit with a blush. “I had an aunt who was transgender. She was more of a mom to me in many ways than my own mom was. It pissed me off that so many people treated her like she was less than human because of who she was. She died from a stroke ten years ago.”

“That’s the ‘stupid’ career dream you didn’t want to tell me?” Royal puts my previous words in air quotes.

“It’d be a lot more school, like six more years.”

“So? If that’s your dream then that’s what you need to do,” Nash says.

I see Royal give his hand a thankful squeeze.

“Maybe,” I shrug and turns back to the list.

Royal puts his hand over it and forces me to look at him.

“It can’t hurt to look into the program at the University of Washington. That’s right here in town.”

“Fine, I promise I’ll look into it,” I agree with exasperation. But If I’m being honest, it’s the first career idea I’ve felt excited about since leaving the Marines. It couldn’t hurt to at least look into the program.

The three of us spend the next few minutes adding to the list, mostly small things and questions we want to remember to ask the lawyer.

As the stress starts to ease from Royal’s body. Nash’s hand continues to trail up and down his leg as I run my fingers through his hair.

Royal shifts his hips, and it’s obvious he’s trying to adjust a growing erection.

Nash’s eyes travel up and land on the expanding bulge in Royal’s jeans. I take the hand I’m holding and place it on Royal’s hard-on. Nash gets the hint and starts to stroke Royal through his pants.

“Mmmm,” Royal hums his approval, tipping his head back to seek my lips.

My mouth is there, eagerly taking his in an upside down kiss as Nash gropes him. When Royal gasps into my mouth, I open my eyes to see his shirt pushed up and Nash tugging at his nipple ring with his teeth.

“We’d better take this to the bedroom,” I suggest, casting a glance toward Liam’s room.

“That’s going to take some getting used to,” Royal laughs. “I’ll meet you guys in there in a minute.”

Royal

I adjust my clothes and my hard-on so it’s not noticeable and then I go knock on Liam’s door.

“Come in,” he calls.

I ease the door open and peek my head in.

“Wanted to check if you need anything before we go to bed.”

“No, I’m alright. Probably going to sleep in a few.”

I nod and look around the bare bedroom. I didn’t think of decorative stuff when we were at Target.

“We’ll have to get you some posters or something so you can make it your own in here.”

Liam gets up from where he’s sitting on the floor folding his new clothes and wraps his arms around my waist to hug me.

“Thank you, for everything.”

I return the hug and then ruffle his hair.

“Don’t mention it kid. Help yourself to anything in the kitchen and let me know if you need anything.”

Liam nods and I wish him goodnight before closing the door behind me on the way out.

Stepping into my bedroom I’m met with the sight of my two gorgeous men, naked in all their muscular glory, and wrapped around each other as they make out in bed.

I waste no time shedding my clothes and jumping into bed to join them. My hands roam over Zade’s firm ass as he covers Nash, kissing and grinding against him.

I part the globes of his ass, my mouth waters at the sight of his tight, pink hole just begging to be filled.

I run my tongue from his heavy sac up toward his hole and Zade moans in approval.

“I’m going to be all up in this hole tonight,” I tell him, before rimming my tongue along the puckered flesh and eliciting another desperate sound.

Zade’s hips buck and Nash groans out his own sounds of pleasure. My cock throbs at the noises my men are making. In no rush to reach the finish line I leisurely lick and suck Zade’s hole until he’s cursing and begging me to fuck him.

“I love it when you beg,” I say, giving him a hard slap on the ass.

I reach over to the nightstand and grab a condom and my bottle of lube. I place the lube in Nash’s hand.

“Get him ready for me.”

Nash nods and squirts a generous amount of lube onto his fingers. I watch, stroking my dick, as their tongues tangle in deep, drugging kisses and Nash’s fingers disappear inside Zade’s ass, stretching him to take me.

When my balls draw up and start to ache for release I stop jerking myself and roll the condom on.

“Ready for me?” I ask Zade, crawling up behind him and getting into position.

“Fuck yes,” Zade agrees with enthusiasm.

“Comfortable?” I ask Nash.

“Yeah,” Nash’s answer is breathless as Zade’s hips continue to roll against his.

Without wasting another second I line myself up and slowly sink inside.

“So tight,” I gasp before leaning forward to kiss Zade’s shoulders and back, trying to get myself under control so I don’t blow in five seconds like a virgin.

My eyes lock with Nash’s over Zade’s shoulder and another pulse of lust punches through me. His eyes are clouded with pleasure as each thrust I deliver causes Zade’s cock to drag against Nash’s. I wish Zade was inside Nash so it would be like I was fucking them both at the same time.

Nash’s eyes close and his head tilts back as he bites down on his bottom lip. Fuck he looks sexy when he’s trying not to come.

I sit back into a kneeling position so I can give Zade more. When my angle changes Zade cries out. I slam my hips forward, aiming for the same spot again and am rewarded with another desperate cry.

“Yes, fuck, more,” Zade begs. “So close.”

Nash whimpers too as I fuck into Zade mercilessly until he tenses, his inner muscles clenching so hard around my cock it’s almost painful. My own release slams into me as both my men writhe and moan beneath me.

“So fucking good,” I gasp as I fill the condom, buried deep in Zade’s ass, and then collapse on top of them.

Once I’ve regained my wits, I roll off to one side so Nash isn’t being crushed beneath both of us. I pull off the condom and toss it in the trash near my bed, then I reach for a dirty shirt that’s on the floor and hand it to my men so they can wipe themselves off. Then, I climb into bed and wriggle my way between them, every cell in my body feeling right and whole when I have all four arms around me.

I wake up early, determined to get started on some of the list we made last night so I can ease Royal’s worries. I figured it would also be good to have a nice breakfast with Liam this morning. I want him to feel welcome and  part of the family. Family. Is that what we are now? I suppose it is. Am I part of the family, though? Nash and Royal have known each other their whole lives, so of course they are family. Is it too soon to count myself in that category?

When Nash included me in their moving plans I couldn’t have been happier. On some level I think I wasn’t sure Nash really wanted me around, or if he was going along with all of this for Royal’s sake.

First things first, I pull out my phone and start searching for lawyers in the area specializing in family law. Once I get ahold of the secretary for a lawyer named Jim Graham and make an appointment for the three of us to go speak with him on Wednesday. With one major thing checked off the list I start whipping up some French toast.

When a pair of arms wrap around my middle I smile and relax against Nash’s sturdy frame. His lips trail over the back of my neck giving me goosebumps from head to toe.

“You know, the first morning I stepped into the kitchen and saw you in your underwear I was so attracted to you. I thought I was going insane, first I couldn’t stop thinking about Royal and then there I was checking out his new boyfriend.”

“I don’t want this to come off as condescending, but I’m really proud of how well you’ve dealt with discovering a new side to yourself. A lot of people freak out when their perception of themselves changes. You seem like you’ve rolled with it without missing a beat.”

I feel Nash shrug, his arms still around me.

“I’ve always believed we put too much emphasis on labels. Sexuality is a spectrum and just because my spectrum has shifted, that doesn’t make me a different person. I never felt a deep connection with anyone I’ve dated in the past, this feels different. Being with you and Royal feels right in a way I never would have imagined.”

“For me too,” I agree.

“Oh, sorry,” Liam’s voice comes from behind me.

Nash’s arms disappear and I turn to see Liam backing out of the kitchen, face aflame.

“Hey, you’re fine. Come back in, I’m making breakfast,” I call out.

Liam looks skeptical as his eyes go between Nash and myself.

“Seriously, you’re not interrupting anything, we were only talking,” Nash assures Liam.

Nash gives me a quick kiss on the shoulder and then walks over to the coffee pot and starts making coffee while Liam sits down at the table.

“Did you sleep okay?” Nash asks Liam.

“Kind of. I always have a hard time sleeping somewhere new.”

“Anything we can do to make you feel more comfortable, you let us know,” I say. “I made an appointment with a lawyer for Wednesday so we can figure out what we need to do to keep you safe from Ray.”

Liam nods, tracing circles with his index finger on the table.

A few minutes later Royal stumbles into the kitchen half-asleep. I’m glad he remembered to put on pants, that’s not always a given.

“Morning,” Nash gives Royal a cup of coffee and a brief kiss.

I smile at the domestic moment and finish making French toast so we can all have breakfast.

“Liam, I want you to know that we’re going to figure out getting you in to see a doctor about hormone treatments and everything. I don’t want you to feel like you’ll have to get testosterone in some shady way and I definitely don’t want anything going down without the supervision of a doctor. So if you can bear with us while we get everything sorted out, we’ll make sure you have everything you need,” Royal says as I serve up breakfast.

“I can’t thank you enough, for everything.”

“Don’t mention it, we’re family.” Royal reaches for my hand and gives it a squeeze. “All of us.”

Nash appears on my other side, leaning down and brushing a kiss to my cheek.

“All four of us,” Nash agrees.

I swallow around the lump in my throat. How did I get so fucking lucky?

Royal

“Hey, Liam, I was wondering if you want to go do something together?” I ask from the doorway of his room.

It’s so surreal to suddenly have family I never knew existed. I want to learn everything about him that I missed over the last sixteen years.

“Sure, what do you want to do?”

“Uh, I don’t know,” I laugh. “What kind of stuff do you like to do for fun?”

“I’m really into photography,” Liam says, gesturing to an expensive looking camera sitting on the desk in his room. “It was pretty much the only thing I made sure to take with me when I bolted from Ray’s place.”

“There’s a cool park not far with great gardens and stuff. We could go there with your camera, if you want?” I suggest.

Liam’s face lights up and he grabs his camera in a hurry.

The park is a ten minute walk from the house and it’s a beautiful day so we stroll leisurely, Liam snapping random pictures along the way.

“So, how’d you find me, anyway?” I ask as we walk.

“My dad used to talk about your mom all the time when he was drunk. I was curious, and her name was distinct enough that I was able to find her on Facebook. It’s just a memorial page now, but I saw your posts on there and so I clicked on your page and I knew you had to be my brother.”

“Wow. I’m really glad you found me. If I’d known…” I trail off because I don’t know what I would have done, what I could have done to protect him from Ray.

When we reach the park I point toward a shaded area where we can sit and talk, and that will be a good spot to take pictures from.

“What was your mom like?” Liam asks.

“She was awesome. After she kicked Ray out she had to work all the time to support us, but I couldn’t have asked for a better mom. She always supported me, encouraged my art, told me I could be anything. When I was fourteen and I told her I liked guys she said she didn’t care who I dated as long as they treated me well.”

I feel the tears burning behind my eyes as I talk about my mom. It’s been years since I’ve brought her up. There hadn’t seemed much point in talking about a ghost. It’s nice, though, to remember her and to make sure someone else knows how amazing she was.

“She sounds awesome. Ray loved her a lot. I always felt like that was one of the reasons he didn’t like me. My mom was some rando who stuck him with a kid and took off. Your mom was the love of his life.”

“Trust me, that didn’t stop him from smacking me around. He said it would ‘toughen me up’ and ‘make me a man’,” I scoff.

After that the conversation turns to more pleasant things like hobbies and favorite movies. Liam wants to hear all about what it’s like to work at a tattoo shop, and makes me promise to give him his first tattoo when he’s eighteen. It’s a damn good day.
