Her hands shook as she turned the hot water on and then the little spigot to turn on the shower. Her body hummed with the moments that were definitely hot, but Bella couldn’t believe she had done it, almost feeling like a betrayal to Carlos. Shaking her head, admonishing herself for feeling that way, she tried to think of something else. It was almost impossible to shake the feeling though and she was left thinking of Jake as she washed off their need. She was soaked and she turned a little hot thinking about it. Bella didn’t think she had ever come like that before.
When she got out of the bathroom, she had a towel wrapped around her and Jake was still lying in bed, his eyes following her as she went to her bag to find something to wear. She wished that she would have thought about it before and brought something with her. It would have stopped him from looking at her like that and stopped her from feeling her nipples harden in response.
“Why don’t you come back to bed and keep me warm?”
Bella nodded, moving back to change in the bathroom. Jake’s smile fell and he felt like he should get up and dressed as well. His boxers were still on, so he just pushed his softened cock back in and sat up. The bathroom door opened again, but she still wouldn’t meet his gaze.
“Bella?”
She looked up, her dark eyes filled with something that he wasn’t sure he understood. “Look, I’m sorry about that, but I woke up from a dream or something. I don’t know what I was thinking.”
Jake shook his head. He had just had some of the hottest sex of his life and she was apologizing about it. Bella was also putting her shoes on, back to acting like they had not just made love. He was shocked, used to the girl being doe-eyed and exhausted when he was done. Jake blamed it on the fact that he hadn’t been prepared. He had been ambushed, waking up to a wet quim nudging his cockhead and the woman saying that she wanted it. His first reaction had been to press forward, but now he was left feeling strange.
“It’s no problem, any time, really.” He meant it to, his cock hardening slightly just from the suggestion. There was something in the way that she looked over at him for a minute, but then she turned back around and starting putting her things in the bag.
“Hate to run and all after…that, but I’ve got to load the horses up and get moving.”
“Do you need some help?” Jake was already to his feet and she stopped, her gaze falling to the hardness that was trying to creep out of his boxers.
“No really, thanks though. Nice meeting you Jake.”

He watched the door shut kind of in a daze. Jake had heard of hard to get, but Bella was something else entirely. Unavailable came to mind loud and clear. He should know the signs of course. He had lived that way for some time. It made the moments with her seem more precious, but also left him sitting on the side of the bed, her shampoo smell still in the air. He kept asking himself, what had just happened?
Shaking his head, he looked at his pocket watch and realized he still had another hour before he was supposed to go up to the house and get his first instructions. There was no way he could sleep though, so he moved into the small bathroom, inundated with the smell of her. She was driving him crazy and she wasn’t even there. Bella had left behind some shampoo in her rush and Jake used it, just so that he could be reminded of her.
He settled into the room, wishing they had been bunking together. She hadn’t said much, hadn’t shared anything, but her body and a moment of her pleasure. Jake tried to forget her, keeping himself busy when he finally left for the ranch-style house to get some breakfast and his duties for the day.
When he knocked, it was almost immediately opened by a short, rotund woman with dark brown eyes. She introduced herself as Betsy and ushered him in. “Now you will have to get here earlier for breakfast or there won’t be anything left. Big appetites around here, but I will make you some eggs to get you going.”
Jake thanked her and took a seat, introducing himself to the other three men that were sitting around the table. One guy name Trent asked him where he was staying.
When he told them the number, everyone got quiet for a minute.
“I thought Bella was staying in there last night.”
“She was.”
A few eyes went to Betsy, but she was humming like she hadn’t heard a thing. Trent eyed Jake, wanted to ask him more, while Jake felt unease about saying something and decided not to say anything else. He was given a couple of horses that needed to be saddle broken. It was actually not that hard and Jake figured that they were warming him up for something more challenging. When he saw the horses though, he had a feeling that it was a test instead an easement into the job.
Trent walked up to a couple of pens in the back. The first horse that caught his attention was Smudge and he was big, angry and so beautiful. There was no wonder why they wanted him trained, he was a race horse in the making.
“I see I got the crazy one.”
“Oh yeah, that horse should have been called the Devil. A few have tried and if they don’t get him trained soon, they will send him south.”
“What’s south?”
“Bella.”
Jake nodded like he was supposed to understand, not wanting to ask a bunch of question. “So you stayed with her last night?”
“Yes. It was late and she was already in there.”
“What I wouldn’t give for that chance. Everyone around her has tried, but she doesn’t pay us any mind after what happened with her husband.” Jake didn’t hear much else after finding out she was married. He was looking at the horse, watching it move, tuning the young man beside him out.
“She’s Betsy’s daughter, so just be careful what you say around her.”
It just got worse. He had slept with the boss’ daughter who was married, on his first night there. Jake felt like he had fucked up big time and at the same moment, wondered if he would get another chance to do it again.
