Brody
I fucked up. And, now, my mistake might cost us our lives.
We all turn, looking at the SUV chasing after us.
“You need to just let me go. It’s the only way to save yourselves,” Skye says.
“No way. Not happening,” I say.
Shots ring out behind us, and Levi swerves the car as all our hearts jump into our throats. Now, they’re shooting at us.
“Levi, Noah, please. Just turn me over to them. Gabe won’t hurt me, and you guys will have a chance to go free.”
Levi grips the steering wheel hard and glances in the rearview mirror while I give him a death stare, imploring him to keep driving, no matter what.
“We aren’t turning you over,” Noah says.
Levi nods in agreement.
Skye exhales deeply and then looks at me. “Then, you’d better come up with something fast, or we are all dead.”
I pull out my burner phone. He wants one thing. Skye. And I don’t think he’d be too happy if she were dead. Or at least, I hope not.
Shots ring out again, and we all duck down like, if we get low enough, somehow, the bullets won’t actually pierce our skin.
I reach into the bag at my feet and pull out the small gun inside.
“I don’t think shooting back is the answer,” Skye says, looking at me with wide eyes.
“Skye’s right; these guys are professionals. They will shoot you dead before you even have a chance to get a shot off.”
I aim the gun at Skye’s had.
“I’m going to make Gabe think that we’re going to kill you if he doesn’t call his men off.”
Skye smiles and grabs the phone out of my hand, handing it to Noah.
“Take a picture, and send it to Gabe,” Skye says.
Skye closes her eyes and then opens them, trying to look as terrified as possible while I aim the gun at her head.
“You have to hold the gun closer,” Noah says.
I put the gun all the way up to her head, hating how it feels to aim a gun at her, even one that has no bullets in it.
Skye looks at the gun out of the corner of her eye, and she looks terrified, just like she needs to be.
Noah takes the picture but only of my hand and Skye, giving us more time before Gabe realizes it is me who is the kidnapper.
“Message sent. Now, we wait and hope we don’t die,” Noah says.
I continue holding the gun to her head, hoping the guys behind us will see it and stop.
My heart races as the silence drones on, and we zip down the road, passing car after car. One second passes. Then, another. Then, another.
The phone buzzes in Noah’s hand. We all hold our breath as he clicks the button to open the text message.
“He’s agreed,” Noah says.
We all exhale at the same time.
“They are pulling off the road,” Levi says, looking in the rearview mirror.
I toss the gun back into the backpack and grab Skye’s head, firmly kissing her on the forehead, thankful that she’s still alive. That all of us are. But none of us are naive enough to think that we’re safe, long-term.
The phone buzzes again, and Noah clicks the message open.
All of us stare intently at him, waiting for the message.
“He says that he’s going to hunt us all down and kill us. But will make it long and torturous if anything happens to Skye. He wants her desperately. We aren’t to hurt her. He wants us to return her to him by tomorrow morning, or he will use everything in his power to take us all out.”
“Tell him to give us one million dollars and that we define the terms, not him. Tell him we want the money in exchange for her safe return by tomorrow evening,” I say.
Noah nods and begins typing the message.
I look at Skye, who has her head cocked to the side, eyes curiously looking at me.
“It will give us enough time to work on plan C.”
“Plan C?” Skye asks with a raised eyebrow.
I nod. “It takes a lot of plans, and we will go through as many plans as we need until we are all safe.”
“What’s plan C then?”
Noah turns around in his seat and hands the phone to Skye. She takes it with her hands still bound together.
“We need to call that rich princess friend of yours to get us a private plane to somewhere anywhere but here,” Noah says.
“You can’t be serious.”
I nod.
She shakes her head. “First, she doesn’t just have a private jet on hand at all times to take me wherever I want. Second, Gabe knows about her, he’s threatened her and her family before. I’m not going to get her involved, and even if she were to get involved, Gabe would be able to track the plane in a second. If we’re trying to be discreet, that’s the opposite of helpful.”
I rub the nape of my neck hard. “I guess we are on to plan D then.”
“Actually…” Skye says, staring at the phone.
She reaches into her bra and pulls out a business card. I can’t help but continue to stare at her boobs and wonder how much else she has stored in there.
She begins entering the number on the business card.
“What are you doing?” I ask.
She shakes her head and just shushes me.
“Hello, Tonya. This is Skye.”
The other woman must say something, as Skye goes silent.
“You see, I know you don’t like me very well. But I made a mistake, and I think you’ll want to help me fix that.”
A short pause.
“Because you want my husband, and I want an annulment. So, you’ll help me by discreetly getting me a private plane out of the country without letting Gabe know where I am, and I’ll make sure that he finds his way safely into your bed.”
My mouth drops open.
“Done,” Skye says, smiling. She moves and lets the phone drop to her hands before she presses End on the phone and hands it to me. “Head to the airport. We have our plane.”
“How?”
“I met a woman tonight who was not too happy about me marrying Gabe. She wanted him for herself. She asked me to give her number to Gabe if he ever needed help with redecorating. But I knew it was her saying that she didn’t care that we were married, that she would still try to go after him.”
“We have our plane,” I agree.
I’m not sure I believe that this is gonna work until we pull up at the airport, and there is the plane waiting for us. Still, I don’t think it’s gonna work, and we all load and carry the guns we bought as we board the plane, expecting Gabe or his men to be sitting on it, ready to ambush us the second we get on. But there is none. Apparently, a woman scorned and in love will do just about anything to have a chance at her ex-lover again.
It’s not a huge plane, but it’s enough for the four of us.
“Where to?” the pilot asks as he ducks his head into the main cabin of the plane.
“Vancouver,” Levi says.
Skye looks at him like he’s crazy. But the pilot just nods and heads back to the cockpit.
Skye takes a seat in the back, and I take the seat right next to her. “Seriously? Vancouver? Can’t find a place a little further away to head to?”
I look at Levi.
“I have some friends in Vancouver who might be able to help.”
I reach over and rub Skye’s neck, trying to get her to relax. “I’m going to save you.”
She grins. “Sure you are.”
We all buckle our seat belts, and the plane takes off shortly afterward. It’s only then that I realize her hands are still tied together. When we are safely in the air, I unbuckle my seat belt, and she undoes hers. I motion with her to follow me to the back. She does. We barely draw attention as Levi and Noah talk strategy in front of us.
I’m hoping there’s some sort of bedroom or at least a large bathroom in the back of the plane, but there’s none. Just a tiny-ass bathroom that’s no bigger than a bathroom on a commercial jet. Still, I pull her inside and close the door behind us.
“Finally,” she exhales as she throws her tired arms up over my head and around my neck.
Our lips crash together in a passionate kiss that beats all others. I’ve never needed a woman so much in my life, and it’s clear she’s never needed me more than now. Our tongues tangle and our breathing becomes one as our kisses dig deeper into each other’s smiles. But she is still wearing her wedding dress that she got married to Gabe in.
“I’m sorry I couldn’t save you before you had to marry him.”
Her lips kiss me again hard. “I don’t care. Marriage means nothing to me.”
Her voice is sharp, like a woman scorned, not willing to get back into love again.
It’s something I’ll have to work on later. As desperate as she is for my body, if we survive all this, I’m not sure she’ll be as desperate for a relationship with me, as I am with her.
“Fuck me, Brody. Please,” she cries into my lips, her entire body begging for me but not being able to do anything about it because her hands are tied and currently locked around my neck.
I lift her dress up and push down the thin white lace panties, finding her tight cunt and pushing two fingers inside. She’s soaked and ready for me to enter her in a second, so that’s exactly what I do. If there’s anything I’ve learned through this, it’s that there is no promise for a tomorrow. Not even another minute or another second.
I push down my pants and pull out a condom, slipping it on just in time as she wraps her legs around me, and I push my cock inside her. I fuck her hard over and over in the tiny bathroom on a plane. Any other time, I would be reveling in the coolness of getting to fuck a woman on a private jet. Any other time, I’d be telling her to be quiet so that my friends wouldn’t hear her, and I would get to keep her cries all to myself. Any other time, I would do all those things and more. But not today. Today, I’m just going to fuck her as many times as I can. Because, despite my words of promising her that I can save her, I’m not sure that I can. All I can do is fuck her and take away her pain, however temporarily.
