Adrianna Valdez’s POV

I opened my eyes and frowned. I was not in my room at Olivia’s house nor I was in my bedroom back in Spain. I suddenly became aware of a familiar and heavy arm wrapped around my waist again.

Right, I was at Damien’s home. Oh, god, I had cried like a baby in front of him. Was there anything embarrassing I hadn’t done in front of him?

However, it seemed I felt lighter. As if a load of rocks had been removed from my heart. I guess, finally, crying and mourning Jake is helping me move on. After his funeral, I had not shed a single tear. But last night, I cried for almost seven years of sorrow, and I felt more released from the grief.

My eyes snapped towards Damien in confusion. I had not even said anything. Was he awake? I observed him carefully. No, he was not.

“Adrianna.” My eyes widened in mortification. He pulled me tighter against him, and I could feel the solid length of his erection pressing against my back. He mumbled quietly, and a blush swept through my face. I felt like I was on fire.

Okay, I really had to get myself out of this position. Knowing Damien, he would tease and taunt me about it if he found out I knew. I slowly pulled the covers away and watched his face the entire time.

Once I was out of the bed, I hurried out of the room. Oh god, what do I do now? I don’t even know how to react in front of him, especially when I cried and asked him for his help.

I sighed and went to the washroom to clean myself up. After splashing some water on my face, I’ve decided what to do. I would offer him my friendship and pretend that the sex dream he had about me had never happened. And as a peace offering and a start of our friendship, I will cook him breakfast.

Yes, that is what I will do. I opened the door and started cooking breakfast, Spanish-style. As I laid the meal on the table, the door burst open, and two beautiful women walked in. Their chattering stopped when they noticed me.

Talk about awkward.

Both were blondes and had sapphire blue eyes. All in all, they seemed like the type of girls Damien dated while I was the total opposite.

Were they one of Damien’s frequent bedmates? At this thought, my heart seemed to have dropped to the bottom of my stomach.

“Oh, hello,” I greeted them coolly, and they appraised me before glaring at me snootily.

“Who are you?” The taller one spoke out.

“What are you doing here?” The other one spoke.

“And where is Damien?” Both of them demanded at the same time.

“I’m Adrianna, and Damien is sleeping now. How may I help you?” I said offhandedly.

Even though I was not one for confrontations, I was not the kind of girl that allowed people to talk down to. Why did Damien’s bedmates have to be so stuck up and gorgeous at the same time?

This just further proves that I was not Damien’s type.

Wait, what? What the hell am I thinking?

“Oh, wait, you’re Adrianna?” The taller one spoke out, recognition appearing in her eyes.

“We’re sorry for being rude. We thought you were one of Damien’s friends.” The other sneered at the word “friends.”

How did they know my name? “I’m sorry we didn’t introduce ourselves. I’m Leila, and this is my twin sister, Sofia. We’re Damien’s younger sisters,” The taller one said.

Immediately, the ache in my heart faded as relief swept through me. “Oh, I’m sorry for being rude. I’m just a friend of Damien.”

Now that they mentioned it, both Leila and Sofia look quite like Laura. They both had her platinum blonde hair.

Sofia grinned at me. “Sure you are. If not, why else would you be here? Come, seeing that you’re Damien’s girlfriend, we can tell you all about Damien’s embarrassing childhood stories. Right, Lia?”

“Oh, this will be fun!” Leila clapped her hands eagerly. “Come!” Both of them tugged me to the kitchen and started talking happily.

“Damien’s girlfriend?” I sputtered.

“Yes. You share his bed, didn’t you?” Leila questioned with a smirk.

I shook my head. “No! We are just acquaintances in fact. I won’t be sleeping with him anytime soon,” I said in embarrassment, my face red while the twins burst into laughter.

“We’re just teasing.” Sofia grinned, and Leila tugged me towards the counter island.

“Oh, you have to be joking. He could not have done that.” I gasped as Leila laughed and Sofia grinned.

“Yes, he did. Mother was so horrified, and father was very amused.”

The image of a young Damien looking under a woman’s skirt in church and saying that the woman had been wearing ugly underwear out loud made me burst into laughter.

“Adrianna dearest, where did you go? I missed you in bed,” Damien said sleepily as he lumbered into the lounge.

I cursed inwardly.

“Bed?” Sofia questioned, her eyes brimming with questions.

“Are you sure you didn’t share a bed with Damien Adrianna? It’s not wrong to do so with your boyfriend,” Leila said with amusement as they took in Damien’s bare torso and boxers.

“What are you two brats doing here?” Damien frowned as he glared at the twins.

“Visiting you. You didn’t tell us you had a girlfriend,” Sofia answered with a grin.

“She is your girlfriend, isn’t she, Damien? Kaden said that mother told him she was single.” Leila asked, a sly glint in her eyes.

“No!”

“Yes.”

I glared at Damien. “I am not your girlfriend! And even if I were, I’ll be breaking up with you because I do not recall you asking me to be.”

Leila laughed, and Sofia grinned, “We’ll best be off, or we’ll be late for an appointment.”

“It was really nice to meet you, Adrianna. Welcome to the family!” Leila said as she reached to hug me.

“It was very nice to meet you too. But I assure you, I am really not Damien’s girlfriend,” I said truthfully.

“Okay, enough female bonding time,” Damien said with annoyance as he pushed both Leila and Sofia out and slammed the door in their faces.

“That was extremely rude to your sisters.” I gaped at him once we were alone.

He glared down at me. “They would deal. You, Adrianna dear, are my girlfriend. Why did you tell Leila no?”

I gaped at him and said in astonishment, “Seriously, Damien, we are not dating.”

Damien raised an eyebrow before smirking. “We certainly are. You had asked me to help you move on from him. What better way for me to help by dating me?”

Oh, his arrogance infuriated me! “I didn’t mean you! I meant you could help me find someone else!”

The moment I said it, Damien’s features darkened, and he scowled angrily. “Like the English?” He said dangerously.

I rolled my eyes. “No, someone else, I am not interested in him.”

Damien’s jaw clenched as he made his way towards me. “You can’t date anyone else besides me.”

“And why not?” I demanded angrily. Gone were the thoughts of being friends with him.

“Because you are mine, dammit!” Damien growled his eyes boring into mine before crashing his lips against mine.
