Adrianna Valdez’s POV

“Put the cake right on this table, and make sure it is centralized,” I instructed the cake delivery men. “Damien! Knock it off!” I reprimanded as Damien tried to sample the cream on the cake. He shot me a disgruntled expression before stalking towards me.

“Darling, when will you be free?” He purred, and I knew Damien was up to something.

I raised an eyebrow. “Around half-past three. Then I would have to get ready for tonight. Why do you ask?”

Damien smirked, “You look really beautiful now. I want to ravish you.” My eyes widened, and I blushed furiously. “Damien!”

The delivery men gave us smirks before leaving, and I glared at Damien who was grinning wickedly at me. “Did I mention you look gorgeous?”

A reluctant smile crossed my face, and I snorted. “Charmer.”

Damien pecked me on my nose. “You know it.” He flashed me a satisfied grin before leaning in for a kiss. My eyes widened, and I leaned away and slipped out from his grasp.

“No kissing… or I would never get anything done!” I said hastily, and Damien frowned.

“What kind of rule is that?”

“My rules,” I stated before giving him a cheeky grin.

Damien laughed and gave me an arrogant smirk. “All right. But tonight, you will be playing by my rules.”

I eyed him warily. “Your rules?” I echoed.

“Yes. A preview of them is first, no clothes.”

Damien smirked at me, and I rolled my eyes. “Damie—”

“I would see you later, darling.” Damien interrupted me before giving me a heart-melting grin. He kissed the top of my head and sauntered off. I shook my head, and a smile crossed my face as I watched him go.

My face fell when I suddenly remembered that the two months is up. I would have to go home back to Spain. What was I going to do? I could not leave Damien.

What was I going to do?

***

Trevor’s birthday event was a success. Olivia’s parents and Laura spared no expense. Everything was absolutely the best. Trevor had enjoyed himself tremendously, soaking up the attention from everyone who had met him.

Laura had been eagerly showing Trevor off to everyone with Kaitlyn beside her. All in all, everything went perfectly well. However, I did not enjoy it as well as I hoped. My mind was plagued with thoughts and worry about going back to Spain.

“Adrianna, what’s going on? You’ve been distracted the entire night.” Damien’s voice snapped me from my thoughts.

“Damien. I— The two months is up. I would have to go back to Spain,” I said quietly.

Damien frowned and narrowed his eyes. “What?”

“I would have to go back to Spain. My job is there and so is my family,” I repeated quietly, waiting for Damien’s explosion.

“What? You’re not breaking up with me, are you?” Damien’s voice took on a dark tone.

“No, I am not,” I replied firmly.

“If you are not, then what the hell is going on?” Damien demanded; his body posture was tense and rigid.

“I do not know! What do you want from me?” I said frustrated. I wanted Damien to convince me to stay with him here in New York. I was conflicted. I needed another opinion from someone to help me make a decision.

Damien narrowed his eyes. “I want you to stay here with me in New York.” My heart jumped excitedly at his words.

“What about my job?”

Damien’s hands cradled my face. “You could always find one here in New York.”

My mind grabbed at another fault. “Then where would I stay? I can’t stay with Olivia and Drake. That will be imposing.”

Damien flashed me a smirk and ran his fingers through his hair. “You could always stay with me in my apartment.”

I blinked. “Are you asking me to move in with you?”

Damien met my stunned expression with a determined one. “Yes.”

Could I really move in with Damien? I guess I could. We always slept in the same bed at Olivia’s home. And we acted as if we already shared a home.

“All right, then, I would move in with you. But I still would have to go back to Spain tomorrow,” I agreed, and Damien gave me a brilliant grin before it turned into a frown.

“What? Why?”

“I have to inform my parents that I will be staying here with you in New York,” I explained.

Damien raised an eyebrow. “Give them a call. That should suffice, should it not?”

I blushed. “My parents are rather old-fashioned. Phone calls are for pleasantries only. News such as I would be staying in New York with you must be announced personally.”

Damien shrugged. “Oh, okay, how long will we be going? We have to pack tonight and tomorrow morning. We can take my private jet.”

We?” I asked as a smile stretch across my face. Damien’s crystal blue eyes glittered with mischief.

“Of course, you met my parents. I have yet to meet yours.”

“What?” I laughed out.

“What’s wrong with meeting my future in-laws?”

My laughter faded, my breath caught in my throat, and my eyes widened. “Are you serious?” Damien wanted to marry me?

Damien shrugged. “Yeah, so how long will we be in Spain for?” His fingers caressing the left side of my face as he smiled down at me.

I smiled back. “Maybe a week or less. I intend to spend as much time with my family before I go back to New York. Let’s go pack now,” I said excitedly as I gesture towards my room.

“Now, wait just a minute,” Damien started, and I frowned in confusion.

“Yes?”

“We are not going to pack anything yet because if you remember correctly, we have to play Damien’s game.” Damien grinned wickedly, and I flushed, catching what he had meant.

Anticipation rose in my body, and I exclaimed, “I thought you were kidding!”

Damien stalked towards me and undid his tie. “Nope. I was not. After we play Damien’s game, we can start packing. But mostly, we would be packing tomorrow morning.”

His lips then crashed against mine.
