Crazy Good Love by MF Isaacs (14)

I woke up early the next morning; I didn’t want Calvin to come looking for me and find out that I didn’t spend the night in my own bed. I quietly got out of bed and quickly dressed in the bathroom. I was trying not to wake Steve but that was useless, he was sitting up in bed as I walked out of the bathroom. He asked me to give him a few minutes to get dressed and he would walk me back to my room.

As I opened the door to my room, I saw Sierra walking out of the bathroom but I also saw that neither of our beds had been slept in. Thankfully Steve didn’t notice the undisturbed bed. He simply kissed me and said he would see us in a little bit.

As he left I turned to Sierra with a knowing look. Her cheeks were more than pink, and since she couldn’t even look me in the face I decided to let her off the hook for now. She reminded me that Calvin was taking me to breakfast before he took off. I didn’t waste any time and quickly showered; I kept my hair up in a bun and didn’t bother with re-applying makeup. When I was ready I sent my brother a text telling him I was hungry.

We went to a small diner the guy working the front desk recommended for their homemade breads and muffins. This time our breakfast alone was different than last time, I wasn’t worried about his opinion of Steve or what I was doing. This time he was the focus, I needed to be sure he knew what he was doing when it came to Sierra. Thankfully he put my mind at ease when he told me that he really did like her and that he thought he had true feelings for her. He confirmed what I saw in my hotel room earlier when he told me that they stayed up most of the night talking. He said he told her our parents story, with that knowledge I knew he met his person.

He continued convincing me when he asked me if I would please invite them home with me for Thanksgiving. He knew they didn’t have family and he wanted them to feel comfortable with ours. Upon finishing breakfast, I continued to feel the shift in our relationship; we were still siblings but now we were adult siblings.

We made our way back to the hotel and packed up our things. Calvin gave Sierra, Steve and me a ride back to the motor-home. We pulled in at the same time Curtis was being dropped off, from the looks of him he’d had a great time the night before. We all stood back as we watched him as he said good bye to Callie and Will embracing them both. I hated saying good bye to Calvin, but I could see that Sierra was truly sad to tell him good bye. The rest of us gave them a few minutes of privacy before Alfred started up the motor-home for our four hour drive. Norma sat up front with Alfred since the rest of us were exhausted and planned on sleeping the whole way.

I woke up with about an hour left and found Sierra sitting at the little dining table. She tried to give me smile as I sat down with her, but the smile failed to reach her eyes. She told me that Calvin invited her to have Thanksgiving with my family. When I smiled, she didn’t return the look. Finally I asked her, “What do you think? Do you want to come?”

She was busy looking out the window, lost in her thoughts. Finally she answered, “I don’t want him to invite me out of guilt. Yes, we lost our parents and Sophia” at the mention of her sister’s name she glanced at me, I am sure gauging to see if I knew about Sophia yet. “but that doesn’t mean we need to be pitied.”

I couldn’t help but reach out and touch her arm; I wanted her to look at me before I responded. “Sierra, my brother doesn’t do anything he doesn’t want to do. He doesn’t offer things to people out of guilt or because he feels sorry for them. He has never invited anyone into our family home for a holiday. That being said, he asked me to be sure that you came home with me for Thanksgiving. He didn’t invite your brothers, he invited you. That doesn’t mean I won’t be inviting your brothers.” At that we shared a giggle that eventually woke up Steve. I think Curtis was dead to the world.

Steve and Curtis helped Alfred park the motor-home as Sierra and I helped Norma pull out all the food items. It took us about a half hour to help them get everything put away. Steve dropped Curtis off at the fraternity house before taking Sierra and I back to the dorm. He carried my stuff up to the room and asked if I would go for a short walk with him before he headed back to the frat house.

On the walk he told me he just wanted to see where my head was at after last night and after having breakfast with Calvin. We stopped at a park bench that was situated in the courtyard that was surrounded by dorms. I didn’t hold back, I told him breakfast was good and that nothing important came from that; it wasn’t my job to talk to him about the possible relationship between Calvin and Sierra. When it came to talking about my thoughts regarding the night before, I didn’t have the words figured out yet. I rested my head on his shoulder while holding his hand, while sitting like that he turned and brushed the top of my head with a kiss. When he stopped the kiss I turned my head looking up at him and told him the only thing I knew for sure, “I love you. I knew that before last night but last night solidified the thoughts and feelings. I know without a doubt that I want what we started. I want to spend my nights sleeping with you. I can’t stop thinking about you touching me. I got so caught up in the pleasure last night that I didn’t get to touch you like I want, like in my fantasy.”

“Good baby. That is what I was hoping you would say.” he gently kissed the tip of my nose, “Thank you for this weekend. We have class early tomorrow, let me walk you back to your room so you can finish up any homework you might have before going to bed. I am exhausted so I am going to head to my room and crash.”

I was on cloud 9 after walking her back to her room. I had no doubt in my own mind that she is the one. Words cannot describe how lucky I feel hearing her tell me that she has no doubts. She wants what we started. In my mind, we started the rest of our lives.

I need to start planning…
