I was released from the hospital a couple of hours ago, and ever since we got home, William has barely even left me alone. William was being sweet and all, but he was following me everywhere. Even to the bathroom! It was so awkward to pee when he was standing right there.

“William.” I turned around abruptly, causing him to bump right into me.

I was limping toward the bathroom to take a bath and he was right behind me.

Great.

“What’s wrong? Are you in pain? Do you want to go back to the bedroom?” he asked, worried.

He made a motion to pick me up, but I stepped back.

“William, I’m fine. I love that you care so much, but you don’t need to follow me everywhere. If I need something, I’ll come to you or I’ll call for you. I know how to take care of myself,” I said gently, holding his face in my hands.

He closed his eyes and leaned his forehead against mine. “I know, I’m just paranoid right now. I almost lost you once, and I’m afraid that if I turn my back for just a second, you won’t be there anymore.”

I smiled. “I’m not going anywhere, at least not willingly. I like you too much to leave you behind.”

William opened his eyes and they were glowing slightly. “I like you too.”

I chuckled and wrapped my arms around his waist, leaning my head against his chest. He wrapped his arms around me and buried his face in my hair.

“How heartwarming,” a voice muttered.

We pulled back and saw the guys standing there with smirks on their faces.

They had the worst timing ever.

William groaned. “Don’t you guys have anything else to do than interrupt us all the time?”

Ethan snickered. “Nah, this is more fun. I always wanted to be a cock blocker.”

I rolled my eyes and limped away as they talked. Finally, I could be alone.

“Heather!”

Or not.

“Hey, Chelse.” I nodded at her as I stepped into the kitchen, deciding to shower once all of them left. I began making some hot chocolate while Chelsea sat down and rambled about the baby clothes she had bought the other day. Once I finished, I handed her a cup and leaned against the counter, facing her.

“So, should we expect a little William or little Heather soon?” Chelsea asked, sipping her hot chocolate.

I spit my hot chocolate out and began choking.

“Whoa there, calm down.” Chelsea stood up to pat my back to stop my choking.

“I was released from the hospital a couple of hours ago and you’re asking if I’m pregnant yet?” I asked her incredulously once I stopped wheezing.

She shrugged. “You guys seem cozy. Besides, don’t think I didn’t notice how William can’t keep his hands off you. He is always either holding your hand or your waist.”

“So?”

She looked at me blankly. “So? When are you going to do it?”

“I don’t know. I don’t think I’m ready yet,” I said, blushing slightly at the thought and sipping my hot chocolate again.

Chelsea laughed. “Someone’s already thinking about it.”

“Thinking about what?” Ethan asked, walking in with the rest of the guys. I groaned and banged my head against the cabinet.

Today was not my day.

“Oh, we were talking about when Heather and William will finally do it,” she said casually, like it was something people talked about every day.

William, who had stolen my cup, spit out the hot chocolate and began choking.

That was what he got for stealing my drink.

Chelsea began laughing hysterically as Jackson patted William’s back. “Wow, you two are meant to be,” she said, wiping at her eyes.

William wiped his mouth on the back of his hand. “I think there’s a football game on now.”

As soon as the words were out of his mouth, the guys and Chelsea were out of the kitchen. I smiled as I heard them arguing over the remote.

A throat cleared loudly. “Well, that was…interesting.”

I turned to face William, who was staring at me intensely. My cheeks turned pink as I nodded and stared down at the marshmallows floating in my mug. I felt one of his hands grip my waist gently and the other pull my chin up.

“William,” I whispered hoarsely as he nuzzled my neck and sucked on my sweet spot.

“Mhmm.”

I bit back a moan and hummed.

“You are so beautiful,” he murmured, crushing his lips to mine.

I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed him back passionately, tangling my fingers at the nape of his neck.

“Wow, I didn’t mean to do it now.”

William released my lips with a groan. “Really, Chelsea?”

“Okay, okay, I’m going.” She laughed and waved at us.

He turned back to me and sighed. “I guess that killed the mood.”

I chuckled at his disappointment. “It sure did.”

We headed to the living room, where the rest of them were throwing marshmallows at the TV and booing.

I frowned, plopping on the couch beside William. “You guys had better clean that up later.”

They nodded their heads and continued watching the game intently. After a while, the doorbell rang, and I got up to go answer it.

“Wait, I’m coming too,” William said, leaping up from the couch. On our way to the door, he grabbed a baseball bat from the closet.

I stared at him weirdly, and he shrugged. “Just in case it’s an unwanted guest.”

Shaking my head, I opened the door. When I saw who it was, I couldn’t move from shock.

Oh God.

“What? No welcome for your sister-in-law? You really are a bitch.”

“Kelly,” I whispered.
