Biker Ruined (The Lost Souls MC Series Book 8) by Ellie R Hunter (24)

Dex

Melissa’s hand slides up my thigh and for the third time, I shove it away.

“Don’t,” I warn her.

“Why deny yourself of what you want, Dexter?”

I roll my eyes and drain the rest of my beer.

“I’m denying you of what you want, if I wanted you, I’d have you.”

She smirks and lights up yet another cigarette.

“You smoke too much,” I grunt.

“How is it any of your concern?” I shrug it off, she’s right, it’s none of my concern.

Over her shoulder, Sparky and Pope walk out with Kyle, followed by Cas a few seconds later. A strong need to keep close to Melissa hits me and I don’t like it. I don’t know what Cas is up to, but I do know Melissa won’t give him a chance to say where her brother is concerned.

“Keep it cool,” I tell her and slide off the bar stool.

She frowns, confused, and when the bar goes quiet, she turns around on her stool. As soon as she sees Kyle, she is on her feet and darting through the brothers.

I follow and stand next to Pope as she checks Kyle over.

“Kyle isn’t our enemy, he’s going to be staying with us for a few days. Someone get him a drink and order some pizza in,” Cas orders.

I know what he’s really saying, Kyle is staying so the club can keep their eyes on him.

“He doesn’t need to stay, I’m taking him home,” Melissa hisses.

“I offered for him to leave, but he wants to hang around.”

He’s saying that for her benefit and she doesn’t believe a word of it. She turns her back to us all and in a hushed voice, she chews his ear off.

“Come and sit yourself down, Kyle,” Sparky calls over from the largest table in the bar.

He doesn’t miss a beat and moves Melissa out of his way, it looks like he’s pulled this move before. Grinding her teeth together, she stays close to him and yanks out the chair next to his.

Brothers are weary, they carry on with their conversations keeping one eye on Kyle and Melissa the whole night. Pope’s the only one who openly stares at them in contempt.

For four and a half hours, the night passes with drink and food and Kyle makes himself comfortable around everyone. You wouldn’t have guessed, that he’s been tied to a chair by the very men he’s now laughing and chatting with.

Cas has to tread carefully with two people he doesn’t know, who are both extremely close to the men we plan to kill. I wouldn’t want his president patch for all the money in the world.

Kyle yawns and Cas is on it straight away.

“Prospect,” he yells, not particularly looking around for one.

I don’t miss the orders being barked out.

Scotty comes over and Cas orders him to sort Kyle out with a room. I wait for him to add Melissa to the list but he doesn’t.

For the first time tonight, I look her way and she’s already looking at me. Her eyebrow shoots up, questioning where she’s going to be staying and Cas has her answer.

“As you two seem to know each other, you can stay with Dex tonight. He has plenty of room for you,” he smirks and it’s the first time I’ve wanted to slap him.

“He can be very accommodating,” Sparky winks.

“Okay, let’s go,” I mumble, pushing out of the chair.

If I have to be accommodating, I don’t want to have to sit here and listen to everyone enjoy themselves at my expense.

Kyle drains the last of his beer and Melissa only stands when he does. He can’t move without her moving with him.

“Follow me,” I grunt and head for the stairs.

I wait outside Kyle’s room for Melissa to do whatever the fuck she’s doing in there and lean against the wall. It’s been a long ass day and I’m getting sick of waiting on her highness. I bang on the door and yell for her to hurry up, I don’t hear anything back until the door opens and she full on scowls at me.

“I’m staying here tonight,” she informs me.

“Say goodnight and let’s go.”

“Didn’t you hear what I just said?”

“You’ve got ten seconds before I throw you over my shoulder and move you myself.”

A gleam in her eye has me regretting my threat. She turns to her brother and says goodnight.

She passes me and I close Kyle’s door. I fight not to watch her ass as she sashays to my room.

She walks straight in and before I walk in and close the door, Scotty and another prospect stand by Kyle’s door.

It reminds me of when I had to guard Melissa in Cas’s old room.

I close the door and find Melissa beginning to strip in the middle of the room. My dick springs to life and before I know I’m moving, I’m closing the short distance between us and lifting her up. She wraps her legs around my waist and digs her hands into my hair.

What’s right or wrong, what I should or shouldn’t do, none of it exists in this moment. My head is gone and my dick is leading the way.

One thing I do know, I’ve never felt more alive than I do when I allow myself to put my hands all over her body.
