Rise in Arms: Book 4 in the Blood Brothers MC Series by J.A. Collard (19)

Waiting out front of the clubhouse for Hazel and Charity, I contemplate how I’m going to handle the whole Honey situation. After being with Charity, the thought of Honey in my bed makes me sick to my stomach. I don’t want any other girl but Charity. Well, there is one other girl who sends my heart beating madly, and that’s Jasmine.

Fuck, Jasmine. I’m gonna be seeing her tonight, and I don’t know how to handle it. Will she be all weird and shit around me? Or will she forget what happened and let things go back to the way they were? Either way, I’m fuckin’ nervous as hell.

“Hey, where you at?” Bear asks, as I take one last drag of my cigarette and throw it on the ground, before I straddle my bike.

“What do you mean?”

“You’re somewhere else, brother. You okay with what’s going on with your sister and friend?”

I clench my fists against my thighs. “Nah, man, not okay. This fucker thinks he can treat women like that and get away with it? Not happening.”

I look at Bear, who has a smirk on his face. Not the reaction I was expecting. “What is it?” I ask, curious.

“She’s getting to you, isn’t she?”

I think on his words, not even having to ask who he’s referring to. He’s right; Charity is getting to me. If I thought my life was crazy when I left the clubhouse that day, the morning I kissed Jasmine, now I’m just confused as hell. What am I honestly feeling for Charity? Is it just that I need to fuck her and get her out of my system? Yeah, that could be it. Maybe I just need to slide my cock into her, have her dripping her juices all over it. Then after that, I’d have my fill and be done with her. But… something tells me that once I’ve had her, I’m gonna want more. A lot more.

I sigh and run my hands over my face. “Is it that obvious?”

Bear laughs, and I glare at him. “That obvious? Fuck, man. You carried her over your shoulder to your bike when you found her on the back of mine. If that’s not a sign of her ‘getting to you’, then I don’t know what the fuck is.”

“I don’t know what I’m feelin’, I’ve never felt so crazy about a woman before,” I say to Bear, needing to talk to someone about all the stuff going through my head. “It’s to the point I want to drag her back to my room and keep her there, so no one else can even get a glimpse of her. That make sense to you, brother?”

Bear shakes his head at me, but he’s wearing a grin. “That’s some fucked-up shit right there, Trigg.”

“Fucker. You asked,” I remind him, flashing a grin back.

“Yeah, well, now I’m starting to regret it.”

My attention is diverted when I hear laughter coming from the direction of the clubhouse. Looking over Bear’s shoulder, I see Charity and Hazel walking out, with Quill in front. Her laugh is like an aphrodisiac—it washes over me and stops right at my chest, where it sits warm and sweet.

“You’re already gone, man,” Bear says under his breath, then chuckles.

“What you say?” I reluctantly turning my gaze from the girls to him.

“I said, you’re already gone. You’re in love, Trigg.”

I widen my eyes in shock. “In love?” I growl. “Now you’re goin’ too far, brother.”

He laughs out loud this time. “We’ll see. Hey, Trigg?”

“Yeah?” I get off my bike to grab Charity’s bag from her.

“I’m your best man, right?”

“Best man for what?” I say distractedly, watching the way Charity’s hips sway as she moves closer.

“Your wedding, shithead.”

I flinch and snap my head toward him. Wedding? Is he fuckin’ mad?

“Don’t know what drugs you’re on, man, but I ain’t never getting married.”

“We’ll see. We’ll see, brother.”

Ignoring his last words, I walk up to the girls and grab their bags, throwing Hazel’s at Bear and laughing when I catch him off guard.

“You boys ready?” Quill asks.

I nod. “Sure am.”

“I’ll see you at the house. Watch your backs, see if anyone’s following you.”

“Will do, Prez,” I reply, looking out of the compound gates onto the street. I doubt Blake knows where the girls are, but if he looks closely into Hazel’s life, he’ll find out who I am, and even more worrying, where we are.

“Am I with you again?” Charity asks, looking up at me shyly.

“You’re actually asking me?” I joke, pointing to my chest.

She smiles. “I figured I might as well, don’t want to be carried off again.”

I laugh. “You know me too well.”

I step closer to her, our faces only inches away—the scent of my body wash on her skin hits me, and I love that she chose to use it, so my scent is on her. Tucking a loose piece of hair behind her ear, I ask quietly, “We okay?”

She looks away briefly, then focuses back on me. “Yeah, we’re okay,” she whispers, biting down on her bottom lip.

Wrapping a hand around her waist, I bring her in closer, ducking my head so we’re eye to eye and I have her full attention. “She means nothing to me, you have to believe me.”

She bites down on her lip again, and I hold back a groan. “Kane, you don’t need to explain anything to me. You… don’t owe me anything.”

“I know I don’t, but I don’t want you to think that what happened between us before was nothing, because, Charity, it meant everything to me. You in my arms, my lips on yours,” I explain, watching as her gaze drops to my lips. “It felt like heaven. I don’t know what this is between us”—I wave my hand between our bodies, my fingers brushing against her stomach—“but boy do I wanna find out.”

She licks her lips then, and my cock hardens even more when I catch a glimpse of her pink tongue. Fuck, I want that tongue on my cock.

“I want to find out too,” she says, her tone husky.

I swallow hard at the need that’s visible in her eyes. “I bet if I touched you between your legs right now, you’d be wet for me.”

Charity smirks then, and leans in and whispers in my ear, “I’d say you would be right.” She pulls back, winks at me, then walks to my bike and lifts her leg over it to settle herself on the seat.

“Let’s ride!” I hear Quill shout, before he takes off out of the compound with a loud roar. I watch as Bear takes off behind Quill with Hazel on the back of his machine, then turn back to my bike to follow, but we don’t go anywhere until I grab the back of Charity’s head and smash her lips to mine in a kiss that lets her know just how much I want her.
