Rise in Arms: Book 4 in the Blood Brothers MC Series by J.A. Collard (24)

She’s driving me out of my goddamn mind. I have to have her, no, need to have her. I’m through with playing these games, I’m making Charity mine tonight, and I don’t care if she’s not ready. I want her—her and the baby she’s carrying, even if Reynolds is the father.

The way she felt under my hand—hot and moist and trembling with need—I knew she was lying to me, and her body proved that. Now I’m not holding back, I’m making her mine once and for all. I’m on fire, I need her like I need air to breathe, and the rain is doing nothing to simmer the flames I’m feeling within. I take her hand and continue to lead her toward my room.

Opening the door to the clubhouse, I spot Hazel, who’s just hung up on a call by the look of it. Worry is etched on her face as she looks over at us. Not wanting to deal with all the questions right now, I shake my head at her, hoping as hell she knows the meaning behind it. She smiles and nods, then turns to talk to Jasmine who’s beside her. Jasmine…. Was it just last week I kissed her, and hated myself for loving her? It seems so long ago. As beautiful and perfect as she is, I know now what it means to fall for someone. Love? Yeah, I’m not sure what love is, never known it, but all I know is that when Charity’s around, she has me feeling all kinds of awesome shit, and that’s something I’m willing to work hard at keeping. And if Blake comes after her? Well, there’s no way I’m giving her up. I don’t give a shit if it’s his baby she’s carrying.

“Brother, we need you at church.”

Not believing my fucking luck right now, I groan and stop walking. Charity is shivering and pressed up against my back, and I turn to face her, reaching up to move a stray piece of hair back behind her ear. “Go to my room and warm up, I’ll be there in a minute.”

She looks at me then Hawke, then back at me. “Okay, sure. I’ll see you soon, I guess…?”

I nod and give her a smile and a wink. I watch her turn and leave, and don’t miss Gunner’s eyes following her as she heads out of the main room. He looks over at me when she’s out of sight, likely not realizing I’ve been watching him all along. I give him a look that says, “I’ll fuck you up if you touch her.” He just smirks and takes a swig of his beer.

I look at Hawke. “Hawke, brother, now is not the time. I’ve got… shit to do.”

Hawke taps my shoulder. “Looks like your cock’s gonna have to wait to get wet. Prez got some intel on Blake and wants us in church.”

“Fuck!” I grunt, and run my hands through my hair, frustrated.

“Come on, lover boy,” Hawke says, chuckling, “she’ll be there when you’re out.”

I sigh. “Just tell Prez I’ll be there in a sec. I just wanna… wanna let her know I’ll be right back.”

“Fuck, man, you’re really are a goner.”

I smile at Hawke. “Yeah, I think I am,” I admit.

Turning to walk to my room, I tell myself mentally that I’ll have her soon enough. I just need my cock to believe it.

I open the door to my room, finding Charity’s wet clothes on the floor, a trail of them leading to the bathroom. Jesus, the woman is killing me. Following the path, I inch the bathroom door open, and what I see has my mouth suddenly drying out and blood rushing rapidly to my cock. I hold on to the doorframe for support as I watch Charity, naked and soaping her luscious curves with my body wash. I go to speak but can’t get my words out; I’ve never seen anything sexier in my life. But I don’t need to say anything, because when she turns to rinse her hair, she catches me watching, my eyes greedy for every single inch of her.

She smirks. “Well, don’t just stand there, are you going to join me?”

I moan inwardly, wanting to throw my clothes to the floor and take her up against the shower wall. Her soft skin glistens with soap and water, and my hands itch have her long hair wrapped around them, holding her firmly as I worship her body with my mouth. My gaze moves lower, to her well-maintained pussy—she’s mostly bare, with just a little strip of hair, just the way I like it. My mouth waters to get a taste, but just when I’m about to say fuck it and join her, my phone vibrates in my pocket. I look away reluctantly and grab it out of my pocket; it’s Prez. Get the fuck to church, is all it says.

I stare at the screen, pleading with it for the message to disappear, but it doesn’t. Shitty as hell, I look up at Charity, who from the look of disappointment on her face knows I need to leave. I walk further into the bathroom and open the shower door. Steam instantly hits me, and she steps closer, her face wet, droplets of water resting on her lips. I grab behind her neck with my hand and smash her lips to mine, savoring her taste. I pull back before I’m tempted to step into the shower in my clothes and shit, and rest my forehead against hers. “I gotta go… but fuck, I don’t want to leave you,” I groan out, my voice hoarse.

“Then stay,” she teases softly, her hands holding my face.

“I want to, God knows I want to, but I’ll make it up to you tonight,” I promise, determined to make her mine.

She nods her head. “Tonight it is.”

I peck her lips before I step back and close the shower door. Fuck, I’m gonna have blue balls with the way I’m going.

I walk out of the bathroom with some level of discomfort, still facing her, not believing that this gorgeous creature is in my shower. Then reluctantly I turn around and walk away.

“Trigger, good of you to join us,” Quill states as I enter church.

“Sorry, Prez, just had something to take care of.”

“Yeah, yeah, sit the fuck down, this concerns you.”

I take my seat next to Bear, Gunner sitting opposite and smirking at me. Yeah, fucker, smirk all you want, I’m the one with her naked in my shower. I smile back at him and bring my fingers up to my nostrils; I can still smell her scent on me.

Prez slams the gavel down, gaining our attention. “We have some news about Blake Reynolds.” The mention of Blake’s name has me twisting in my seat to face Prez. “Tracker, wanna tell the boys what you found out?”

Tracker nods, his red bandana in place as usual. He looks at me then at the other brothers. “Blake’s in town, he has some friends with him.”

I sit up in my chair, a chill running down my back. I haven’t seen Blake since I was in my teens, but when I do see him again, I can’t guarantee I won’t kill him where he stands.

“Trigg,” Prez says like it’s not the first time he’s tried to get my attention. I look up at him. “Did you hear what Tracker said?”

“Uh, yeah, he’s in town. How the fuck did he find her so quick?”

“Don’t know, brother, but something smells off.”

I agree with a nod and turn to Tracker. “How many men do you think were with him?”

“I’d say five.”

“Surely we can take them,” Rhyder says, and I smile at him.

“I like how you think.”

Prez slams the gavel down once again. “No blood needs to be shed, boys. We know why he’s here, and that’s to get Charity back.”

I squeeze my fists on the table, feeling rage rising within. “There’s no way he’s getting anywhere near her,” I growl.

“Not saying that, brother. We just gotta be ready and think about this. Charity is protected here, but when he comes, we’ll be ready for him.”

I look around the table and meet everyone’s eyes, wanting to make what I’m about to say is crystal clear. “I want you all to know that he’s mine, okay? I don’t give a fuck about the other men that are here with him, when it comes down to it, and it’s life or death, I’m gonna be the one taking him down. I need you all to know this. I need to be the one.”

All eyes turn to Prez, and I follow their gazes. It’s Hawke who clears his throat, though. “Look, brother, I’ve been where you are, I get it. We’ve had our women threatened, even used as a pawn to get to us, so we have this. You don’t have to take this all on, on your own.”

I look around the table at my brothers once again. “I appreciate that, and I know I have you boys beside me, but Blake is mine. I’m not negotiating, I’m telling ya.”

Hawke looks at Prez, then Prez looks at Blaze, who says, “Can’t blame the man, Prez. If it was Tess in this situation, I’d want to take him down, too.”

Prez looks at me in thought. “Fine, he’s yours, but if you’re in trouble we’re stepping in.”

I nod. “I can handle that.”

I sit back in my chair, feeling a little lighter knowing that Blake will be mine. “So what’s the plan?”

“We bait him,” Hawke says without hesitating. “If he knows where Charity is, then we wait him out, and he’ll come to us.”

“And then what?” I ask.

Hawke smiles. “Then if he tries to take her, we take him down.”

I take him down, you mean.”

“Yeah, sorry, brother. You take him down.”

“What if he’s armed,” Bear asks, and I snap my head toward him, wondering why I didn’t think of that. Of course he’ll be armed, you’d have to be dumb as dog shit to enter an MC clubhouse unarmed.

“Rhyder and Torch, you alert us the minute he approaches the gate. We search him and his friends for any firearms before we let ’em in. I want to talk to the fucker.”

“Talk! Ain’t no talking happening here. The only person he’ll be talking to is my fist,” I state, fisting my hand and punching it into my other.

“Be cool, man. Let’s see what his plans are, then you can have him.”

I get up from the table, and growl. “The man put his hands on Charity, raped her for fuck’s sake, and you want to give him an opportunity to talk? Not on my fuckin’ watch.”

“Sit down!” Prez yells. I don’t, I stand there seething, unable to rein in my anger. “Trigger, sit the fuck down before I rip that patch from your cut.”

Bear places his hand on my arm. “Take it easy, brother, Prez is right. We can’t just beat on him as soon as he enters the club, we gotta play it smart.”

I look at Bear, pissed that he’s not with me on this. I narrow my eyes at him. “He raped her, man,” I repeat, grinding my teeth.

He nods. “We know you’re hurting, brother, but he will get what’s coming to him.”

“Trigger!” Prez yells, warning clear in his voice. I look over at him and inhale. “Sit the fuck down.” I take my seat again and run a hand down the back of my neck. “I promise, he will pay for what he’s done.”

I look at Prez and nod. “I’ll take that. For now.”
