Unsuspected (Undercover Book 2) by T.a. McKay (31)

Epilogue

Niko’s going to kill me. There are no two ways about it. I am dead. I thought about not doing this but thinking about how he might punish me send a little shiver of pleasure through my body

I check my watch to make sure I'm not running late. Today is important and I refuse to miss a second. It was bad enough that I couldn’t wake up with Corey on his birthday, I won’t miss any of his party. My case with Clay took longer than I thought it would, and thanks to the long drive home I’ve already missed half the day with my men. My only saving grace is that it was only me that was working away today. Niko’s case finished up a few days ago so at least Corey wasn’t alone when he woke up this morning. I've spoken to him and wished him a happy birthday, but it’s not the same as actually being there with him.

Clay is planning on opening an additional office here in Scotland with Niko and me heading it up, and it can’t happen soon enough. Having both Niko and me working for Clay the last eight months has been great, but neither of us like leaving Corey on his own for too long. I was a little shocked when Clay had offered me a job in his PI company, but he said with my police background I would be a great addition. After I finished laughing, I asked Clay if he was sure. I had to check because he had watched me fuck up the entire investigation with Corey and Niko. I hindered that whole thing more than I’d helped, but Clay assured me he was sure. Now I work hard every day to prove he hasn’t made a mistake. In my defence, it's easier to work a case when you don’t have a personal interest in the outcome.

My phone buzzes with a text, but I ignore it because it’s probably Niko wondering where I am. I indicate onto the dirt track that will lead me home, and my whole body relaxes knowing that I will be with my guys soon. It’s the same reaction I get when I start up the track, but I don’t think I ever want there to be a time I don’t feel like that. It’s like my soul knows that it will be where it belongs soon.

Arriving in front of the cabin I park my car and turn off the engine. I sit for a fraction of a second looking at how many vehicles are here and smile. Corey started working in a library a few towns over, and even though it’s not the most exciting job, he's made a lot of friends. It helps lessen the guilt a little when I need to leave for a case, knowing that he won’t be alone while I'm gone.

I finally get out of the car and make my way to the front door. I can hear the laughter and music from inside through the open windows. The weather has been beautiful over the previous few weeks, and we’ve been making the most of the last warm weather of the year. None of us have experienced a Scottish winter before, but the local people have warned us to prepare. Corey is excited about possibly getting snow, but I'm just looking forward to finally having a family Christmas. I haven’t had one of those for a very long time.

Pushing open the front door I'm met with a scream when Corey sees me. He rushes to me and throws his arms around my neck. I hug him long and hard, the need to not let go strong inside me.

“Happy birthday, Core.”

He squeezes harder, a gentle sigh coming from him. He pulls back abruptly and grabs my hand. “Come with me.” He drags me behind him through the crowd of people and towards the back of the house where I see Niko standing just outside the patio doors. He smiles when he sees me, and I wink as I continue to be pulled along by Corey. “Look what Niko got me for my birthday.”

I stare at the tiny little bundle of fur that is running about between Drake and Ryden’s feet. Drake is complaining to Ryden that Corey has a puppy and he doesn’t. I will admit, it’s a damn cute sausage dog with its legs barely keeping its belly off the grass.

Niko kisses my neck and his arms wrap around me from behind.

“You got him a puppy?”

“Uh huh.” He continues to press his lips on me as I watch Corey playing with the pup on the ground.

“You didn’t think to maybe discuss it with me?”

“Nuh-uh. Is that a problem?”

I'm not angry with him, but his surprise birthday gift may just be a problem in about five minutes when we realise that we’ve been keeping secrets again. “You tell me.” I turn and kiss him on the lips, lingering for a few minutes to reacquaint myself with his taste before slipping away.

I go out to my car and grab a box from the back seat. I hadn’t brought my gift to Corey into the cabin yet because I thought it would make it a bigger surprise. Well I got that right. I walk straight through to the back garden and Corey squeals when he sees me carrying the box.

“Is that for me?”

“Isn’t the huge bow on the top a giveaway?” I wink at him as he leans over the top of the box and kisses me before stealing the box from my hands.

“Do I want to know?” I can hear the worry in Niko’s voice, and I think he realises what’s going on.

I don’t bother responding to him, instead choosing to let Corey’s scream be the answer. He pushes the box out of the way and sits on the grass with the tiny little black bundle in his hands.

“You got me a puppy too?”

I don’t know if it’s Corey’s shocked look or Niko’s loud groan but laughter is all I can manage. People often say that Niko and I are alike and this might prove their point. Corey has been talking about a puppy for months, and Niko kept saying no. I wanted to do something special for his first birthday with me, and I thought that this would make it memorable. Should I have asked Niko about it? Probably, but I've found that it’s easier to beg for forgiveness after the deed than asking permission. Maybe I just like Niko’s sort of punishments.

“That’s not fair. Corey now has two puppies, and I don’t have any. Ryden, you suck.” Drake collapses on the ground next to Corey and steals the tiny black pug from him and hands him the sausage dog. “Don’t be greedy, Corey. I'm taking the pug. Having two pups is greedy.”

The pair of them sit and bicker between themselves as they fight over the dogs. Ryden comes to stand next to Niko and me as we watch the two grown men on the ground baby talking to two small bundles of fur.

“I fucking hate you both. You couldn’t have gotten Corey an engagement ring or something. You had to get him a fucking dog. Correction, two fucking dogs. Now I'm never gonna get any peace.”

I would give Ryden a sarcastic response about him just getting Drake a dog, but my mind is stuck on the engagement ring comment. The thought had never crossed my mind before. We aren’t a traditional relationship, and the law definitely wouldn’t recognise any rings that we shared, but is that the significant bit? Maybe it doesn’t need to be accepted by the rest of the world, as long as we know what it symbolises.

“One day.” Niko whispers into my ear, and it pulls me back to what’s going on around us. I have a terrible habit of getting lost in my thoughts, but Niko can spot when I'm gone and pulls me back. Corey is my heart, the man who shows me what unconditional love feels like, but Niko is my anchor. He keeps me grounded when I threaten to lose myself to doubt or worry.

“Promise?”

He nods before kissing me gently. There’s no passion in the kiss, only love, and it makes my toes curl. I've missed him and Core, three days away felt like a lifetime. I always laughed when I heard the guys I worked with going on about their girlfriends and how that they hadn’t seen them since the night before and all that. I couldn’t understand how the need to see someone could be so strong, but now I know.

“I'm calling them Cinders the Pug and Arty Sausage.”

Niko and I stop kissing as we drop an arm so Corey can sneak in between us. He’s facing Niko, so I lower my lips to the back of his neck. I've found that any time I'm within reaching distance of either of them I have to kiss them.

“Thank you both.”

“You aren’t upset that we both had the same idea?”

Corey turns his head and looks at the two playing bundles of fluff, smiling sweetly before answering Niko. “No, not in the slightest. Look at them. They are going to be the best of friends.”

As if on cue, both of the puppies run towards us, and I stoop down to pick up Arty and hold him close to my chest as he licks my nose. He really is cute, a little hyper bundle that’s currently trying to climb over my shoulder to get to Niko. When Corey picks up Cinders, he holds it out to Niko who takes him gently. He licks Nikos' nose, and I can see him melt at the action, even though he grumbles to pretend that he didn’t like it.

“You do know the pug is male? Is Cinders really a boys name?”

Corey scowls at me like I just asked him to give Drake the pup. He takes the pug from Niko’s arms before hugging Cinders closer to him. “Don’t you listen to the bad man, Cinders, I think your name suits you.” He covers the dog’s ears before talking to me. “It’s like ashes because he's black. But it could also mean because he would look cute in a ball gown. OMG … a dress.”

I quickly reach out and take Cinders from him while passing Arty to Niko. “Nope, I draw the line at dressing them up.” I walk away from them both, smiling at some of our friends who nod as I walk past them, but I can hear Corey chasing after me. I make it to our bedroom before he catches me.

“He's my dog. I’ll do what I want with him.”

I pass the pup to Niko who’s also followed me and push Corey against the wall. Now that we are alone in the bedroom I finally get the kiss I've wanted since I got home. He opens to me instantly, and I plunge my tongue into his mouth. I can feel Corey’s groan everywhere, and it makes it all that much better. The door behind us clicks shut, and I know that Niko has given us some space to be alone. I make a mental note to thank him later, but my attention quickly goes back to the guy who is currently grinding against me.

“I want you.” The words are panted against my lips, and I wish we hadn’t planned a birthday party for Corey. I want the three of us to be alone so we can show Corey how much he means to us. Tonight we will spend the time worshipping his body, but for now, I should let him get back out there to his guests.

“There are too many people here. You should go back out there.” I try to back up, but he grabs me by the front of my shirt and drags me into the bathroom. The buttons on his jeans are undone before I have a chance to realise what’s happening, and I can just stand there staring while he bends over the sink in front of me.

“Need you, Grant. It’s been too long, please.”

I should tell him no but when he's needy and demanding like this, it’s hard to turn him down. Even after all these months, Corey renders me stupid with his sexiness. I love his confidence and how he embraces his sexuality. I’ve never met anyone so comfortable in their own skin. Thank fuck he picked Niko and me to spend his life with.

“Grant, please.” His whisper finally has me moving, and as much as I want to drop to my knees and taste his arse, I know we don’t have time for that now. Later. I will do that and so much more. Right now is just about feeling him again, about showing him how much I missed him.

Undoing my buttons, I step closer. I don’t bother with taking my clothes off entirely and just lower my jeans enough that I can get my aching cock out. Lube appears over Corey’s shoulder, and I grab it from his hands, opening it quickly before dripping it between his arse cheeks. This coupling isn’t going to be pretty, it’s going to fast and messy, but watching Corey’s laboured breathing I know it’s precisely what we need. I rub my erection over his opening a few times before pressing against the tight ring, sighing as it gives and I slip into his body. God, I've missed this. I try to take my time but Corey slams back against me, taking my whole length in one go. I'm not a huge guy, but without any prep, it would still sting.

When Corey cries out, it’s not from pain. There’s nothing but pleasure in his voice. He doesn’t give himself the chance to catch a breath before he starts to move. I lift my shirt and watch as Corey uses my cock to get off. My cock slips easily into him as he impales himself on me, and accompanied with the groans I know I won’t last long. Three days is a long time without any relief. A few more thrusts and I grab the back of his neck to stop him from moving. When I lean over his back, I feel him struggling to keep moving, but my size restricts him. I reach around and wrap my fingers around his leaking cock, relieved that he's just as close as I am.

“Oh god, Grant.” I can just make out the words over a groan that vibrates through his back and into my chest.

I keep him pinned against the sink as I thrust deep into his body while stroking him. It makes his hole tighten around my cock, and I lift onto my tiptoes slightly, tilting my hips to hit him at a different angle. I know I'm doing it right when his whole body tenses a few seconds before he comes in my hand. I keep grinding into him, prolonging his orgasm while I take my own pleasure. My eyes cross, and I bury my face into the back of Corey’s neck as I come.

We both still, panting together as we recover. I'm lost to the world around me until a kiss lands on the back of my head. I turn my head to see Niko standing next to us, his eyes alive with passion.

“Fuck, just when I think you two can’t get any sexier together.”

My cock twitches inside Corey, and he groans at the sensation. When I’m finally able to take all my weight on my legs, I ease out of Corey’s body, my eyes instantly watching my cum drip from him. Going without protection is a new thing but one I'm loving. There isn’t anything more erotic than seeing the man you love filled or covered in your cum.

I grab a cloth from the shower and wipe myself clean, concentrating carefully on not getting anything on my clothes. The last thing I need is to go out there with cum drying on my jeans and a room full of people. Niko’s sharp intake of breath has my eyes whipping up, and the sight nearly has me hard again. Niko's pounding into Corey’s body, my cum working as lube to ease his way. He’s done this a few times before, and it’s so fucking erotic to watch. Sitting on the edge of the bathtub I watch my men, sharing in their obvious pleasure.

Niko doesn’t take long to come, adding his release to mine inside Corey. I bite my lip as I think about Corey returning to the party filled and marked by both of us. I never imagined I would be able to share someone I loved but in this relationship, it doesn’t feel like sharing.

It takes Niko and Corey only a few minutes to clean up, and when they are ready to leave, I stand to join them. I can see love in both their eyes, and it’s more important than any words they could ever say. Lies are spoken, but looking into someone’s eyes always tells you the truth.

A bang sounds on the bedroom door before Clay shouts through the wood. “When you three have finished we would like to eat out here. Also one of your dogs has shit in the kitchen.” His exasperated voice causes us all to laugh.

This is my life. This is where I want to be until I take my last breath. I’ve found the love I’d always craved, only I've found it twice. I love Corey and Niko with every part of me, and I wouldn’t change what we have for anything. Someone looking in from the outside might not understand what we have, but we get it. We need it. Our relationship has been through dark times, but we’re still here … together. I found two men who have been through so much in their pasts, and I nearly lost them, and I won’t risk them again. These things make them perfect. Survivors. Mine.
