Chapter 6
Mills
Fuck.
I left her nice, sweet and sated this morning. What could have happened throughout the day? I texted her at lunch, then at three and even before I came over to her place. Nadine texted me back at noon but nothing since then. She was going to the store but that was all. Hell, a litany of things could have happened at the market but why would she be mad at me.
Following her inside, I noticed Nadine had on pajama pants and a tank top. This usually wasn’t her typical attire when I’m over. Yup, this was about me.
She guided us over to the kitchen table where she took a seat. I wanted to remain standing but knew that would have come off as defensive.
“Nadine, what’s going on?” I asked in a slightly annoyed voice.
“I took a trip to the all-purpose store and literally stepped back into time, a bad time in my life when the mean girls tried to bully me.” She looked at me with one raised eyebrow. “It wasn’t a good time and though it’s something that I’ve learned from over the years through therapy and other forms of clinical techniques, it still took me back.”
“Sweetheart, what?” I asked a little confused by her last statements.
“Your girlfriend,” she annunciated. “She and her mean friends tried to bully me in the gotdamn store. Calling me a homewrecker and stupid shit like that.”
What!
Before I realized it, I stood up too fast, which sent my chair backward and skidding across the floor.
“What!” I barked, not at her but at the fucking audacity.
This caught Nadine completely off-guard as she stared at me in confused shock before she continued to explain.
“In the market, it was her and two other girls. One with long dark hair and another with shoulder-length blond hair and the other had a pixie cut with highlights.” Her words were rushed as she gave me the descriptions. “They were different from the girl from the drive-in.”
Fuck.
That was Rebecca, Cindy and Grace. There was nothing graceful about what I was hearing and that was completely unacceptable on every gotdamn level.
“What did they say exactly?” I asked again for clarification.
My heart was pounding and my words came out quick but I was fucking pissed.
“Well, that’s what I wanted to talk to you about?” Nadine raised an eyebrow. “Does one of your brothers date a woman of color?”
“Color? What?” I asked.
Nadine huffed and said, “Is one of your brothers’ girlfriends black?”
My eyebrows drew together and then it hit me.
“Why?” I asked.
“Well, it was stated that you were following in your brother’s footsteps and dating a black girl.” Her head tilted as if on an axis.
“What?”
My face had to have turned purple and that was when I snatched my keys from the table and headed for the door.
“Mills,” Nadine called me back with a warning tone but I kept moving. “Mills, where are you going?”
I felt her small hand on my arm.
“To handle something,” I growled.
Nadine’s grip around my forearm tightened, which made me turn around.
“What?” I snapped to her, causing my woman’s head to snap back.
“Calm down,” she said in a low tone while standing her ground. “Stay here. With me.”
My head was shaking as I tried to tamper the rage down of what they did to her in the fucking store. Red, that’s what I saw. Who the hell did they think they were?
“Nadine, I’ll be back.” I said with a slower tempo. “I need to handle something.”
I used my other hand to disengage her fingers from my arm and walked out of the door with her calling for me to stay. I would be back, but it was not going down like that. They had no right, and who did they think they were?
My truck zoomed over to Rebecca’s house faster than I’ve ever made that commute. Tampering down my anger because it was her parents’ house, I knocked like a civilized man until her father came to the door. He gave me a hard look and then asked, “You’re here to see Becca, I assume.”
“Yes.” Was my only response.
“Heard y’all were no more,” He uttered in a low voice.
“You heard correct,” I answered.
The man grunted and went inside to get his daughter, leaving me on the porch. It was fine for him to leave me on the porch, even though I had often broken bread with the family. The man called me son most of the time but now it seemed all bonds had been broken.
Three minutes later, Rebecca came outside and closed the door behind her.
“Hey, Mills,” she smiled timidly.
“What’s this I hear about you cornering my woman at the store?”
She blanched, then blinked several times.
“Uh, n-no.” Rebecca’s head was shaking from side to side. “No, that was Grace pointing out that she was the one that you uh...just putting a face with a name.”
I leaned down closer so she could feel that I wasn’t buying none of that bullshit.
“What did my brothers have to do with anything? And black girls?” I hissed. “I know we have our differences, but I thought you were better than that.”
Rebecca gasped and said, “What? No, Mills. Cindy brought it up but I swear I shut it down. I’m not sure why she said that. I swear to it. There are no issues.”
She laughed nervously, but I found nothing even figuratively funny.
“Rebecca,” I snapped. “I find nothing funny and she walked away feeling cornered. Dare, I say, discriminated against and it had nothing to do with her. This was between you and me. So be sure to tell your friends that if they have something to say about her, to come see me. You understand. I will not stand for that shit in no way, shape or form.”
I had not seen the transformation of her face from apologetic to what looked like wonder. Her head shifted down and then she looked back up and said, “You’ve never stuck up for me like that.”
For heaven’s sake.
I groaned.
“Is that what this is about?” I asked.
“No–no. I’m just saying you’ve never done this for me. Like ever. And what’s it been, a couple of months and...” she trailed off. “I’m just saying.”
Okay.
“Look, tell your girls to see me. They don’t say shit to her in her vicinity or even stay in her presence. If they do, they’ll deal with me.”
That was all I had to say so I walked away, hopped in my truck and drove back to Nadine’s. When I knocked this time, she swung the door open and quickly inspected me before she slapped me on the arm.
“Don’t ever do that again!” She exclaimed.
That reaction caught me by surprise. She was worried.
“What?” I asked. “I said I was coming right back.”
“Right. Then you stormed out of here and I didn’t know where you were going and when you’d be back. You were angry and I just wasn’t sure you were in the right frame of mind is all.”
Her eyes lowered right before I took one step inside. My head dipped and I noted, “You were concerned?”
“Yes.” She mumbled.
“Shit, let me find out you care about little ole me.”
Her eyes met mine and with all shyness and mumbling gone, she replied, “I do.”
That was all I needed to hear before I was on the move. Quickly scooping down to pick her up so that her thighs were wrapped around my hips. I closed the door with my foot and stalked to the bedroom so I could hear her moan my name.
***
I WOKE UP WITH A HARD and wet dick. Blinking several times, I looked down and saw a mess of curly hair moving up and down over my shaft.
Holy fuck!
Once I caught on to what was happening, I grabbed Nadine’s curly mane and pulled her off of me so I could have her straddle me.
“Morning,” she smiled.
Her voice wasn’t rough from the morning but mine was.
“Morning, sweetheart,” I said while lifting her round ass so she could take me.
That moan that escaped her every time I entered that tight pussy was everything. I lived to hear that small utterance of her satisfaction.
“Yeesss,” she hissed.
Before, I could grab her, her arms stretched out and effectively pushed me down on the bed. My girl’s hips started to rotate all around my hard dick causing me to press my fingertips into those hips. The woman was like a freight train on automatic and like a fucking schoolboy, I grunted and came hard in her wet heat.
“Fuck, I’m sorry,” I murmured in her neck.
Nadine pulled back, tilted her head and laughed.
“What?” I asked when I could concentrate.
“I’m laughing at you.” She smiled. “This is what I wanted to do but I wanted it in my mouth.”
After that statement, she patted my chest and lifted off of me, leaving me there to contemplate how she just served me up. Once the sex haze settled and my pride kicked in, I jumped up and ran into the bathroom to see that she started a shower without me.
“Your ass thinks you’re slick?” I stepped into the old tub. “I should spank you just for your sass alone.”
My woman, Nadine Woodrow, turned her head around and said, “I dare you.”
This had me jerking my own head back in amazement. I knew she was older than the average grad student and the way she just rode me, she was experienced, but her comment perked my interest. I didn’t ponder for long.
“Both hands on the wall with your feet spread apart.” I commanded.
With no hesitation, she pivoted on one foot and assumed the position.
Dropping to my haunches, I kissed both of her ass cheeks as the water ran all over her curvy mahogany skin. She was absolutely fucking beautiful and there was no way I was giving her up.
“You’ll get five for sass.” I informed her.
She arched her hips, pushing her sweet ass further in my face. One slap caused her bottom to jiggle and that was mesmerizing. Another slap had her moaning. One more and Nadine pushed her hips out begging for more. The last two were for my benefit only because I used my lips to stop the reddened skin from shaken.
Rising to my full height, I whispered in Nadine’s ear as she still maintained the position. “How’s that ass feeling?”
Her half-mast eyes filled with lust hit mine before she uttered, “Ready.”
Fuck.
Gripping one thigh and lifting her leg so it could rest on the ledge, I inserted my straining cock into her tight pussy and fucked her until she was slumped against me and even letting her hair get wet. Little bites and nips were all over her neck and back because I couldn’t help claiming her.
“Mills,” Nadine cooed. “God.”
I lifted her so she was in my arms and brought her back to bed. My plan was to take her again but her eyes began drifted, so I let her get some rest.
Usually, I would leave her because she knew I had to start with the farm, but between last night and this morning, there was something else between us. I wasn’t sure what it meant, but it did mean something.
So, I left a note.
