Muse by Nina Auril (33)

Coyer

I pull Abby closer to me and we make our way through the sweaty bodies dancing on the floor. I laugh at her disgusted face and kiss the side of her head. My little muse has come a long way since the first time I saw her but sweaty humans are still an issue for her. I grab us both a drink from the table in the kitchen and think about what my life has become.

Abby moved into the loft with me, it took some serious convincing but somewhere between orgasm four and six she caved and promised me anything I wanted if I’d just let her come again. We’re one of those disgustingly happy couples who can’t keep their hands off each other and although not every single day is perfect domesticated bliss, I wouldn’t exchange even a single moment of our life together.

Things with my parents are getting better too. I think they may love Abby more than me but that’s ok. My dad has an entire wall dedicated to news clippings and pictures of me and my exhibitions and tells anyone who will listen about his artistic son. I never thought in a million years we would get to this place. He shows up at nearly every exhibition opening. Abby does too. Although she receives more attention at these events than even I do. Everyone wants to meet The Muse.

Things between Abby and her parents still aren’t great but if they are too stoned to even worry about their amazing daughter I more than make up for it. She’s part of my family now and sometimes I feel like my dad loves her more than me. I don’t mind though, I love her more than myself too.

My mother on the other hand brings up babies every time we have dinner together but that’s not in the cards for us. At least not for a good few years to come. Abby is still working hard on her degree and I foresee her becoming a famous doctor. A specialist like Dr. House. We’re re-watching Season Eight at the moment, every night at dinner but I don’t care. I’d watch static all night long if it meant having her snuggle into me each night.

“Your friend is doing something ridiculous again.” She says next to me and points to somewhere on the other side of the room. I look up to see Alex walking very determinedly through the crowd, balloon in hand. I frown and shake my head. God knows what he’s up to now. I keep watching as he ties the balloon to an unsuspecting girl’s bag and then disappears into the crowd again. I shrug at Abby. Sometimes there’s just no explaining Alex.

We’re at a party thrown by Alex’ frat to celebrate the new school year. Even though I’m done with university, both Abby and Alex  still have their degrees to work for. So does Levi. Dick. I look at him now where he’s sulking in a corner. Alex may or may not have started a rumor that he’s got crabs after he broke yet another girl’s heart. The guy has had no action since.

“Dance with me.” I wrap Abby in my arms and look down at her. I laugh at the face she pulls, but drag her to the dance floor anyway. She relaxes her body into mine and I take the opportunity to slip my leg in between hers. I place a hand on her ass and use it to grind her into me. The feel of her heat still gets to me like nothing else. For real, the feel of her will never get old. She reaches for my head and pulls it down so she can bite at my lip. She’s become a real insatiable little minx with an appetite for sex that rivals my own. Absolutely no complaints here. I’m lost in our kiss when someone bumps into Abby. She breaks away and curls her lip and rubs at her arm where his sweaty arm touched hers. I laugh and pull her off the dance floor. Moment ruined.

“What is he doing now?’ I look up to see who she means when I see Alex trying to get balloon girl’s attention. He’s following her around the room and talking but she’s so lost in her phone that she hardly notices him. I laugh at his confused face. Girls never ignore Alex. Nobody does really. The guy is kind of hard to miss.

I leave Abby to stand in a quiet corner while I go fetch us each another drink. I get to talking with a guy I met through Alex when he comes to stand next to me with a heavy sigh. I quirk an eyebrow again but he only sighs again, his eyes on the crowd.

“What are you looking for?”

“Red balloon.” I smile at him.

“Not interested, huh?”

He just huffs in response.

“Disappear on you?”

He nods. “But I’ll find her.”

My eyes grow big. Alex has never been a chaser. Never needed to be.

“So…” I say and scan the crowd with him. “That one, huh?”

“Yep, that one.” He doesn’t hesitate. He doesn’t blink. There is no hesitation in his reply at all. I look at my friend again. He’s a man on a mission. I’m almost afraid for the girl. Alex doesn’t like losing.

I look over at my own girl. I swear she becomes more beautiful every day. Deciding against the drinks I walk over to her. She bites her lip when she sees the determination in my body language. I grab her by the arm and take her home as quick as I can.  We reach our home and I have her pinned on the bed in record time. She pulls my shirt off and traces the latest mark she left on me with her fingers before looking up at me with those gorgeous eyes. They’re filled with that wild lust and ravenous appetite for sex I’ve come to expect from her. I bend my head to take her mouth with mine, grinding my hips into hers. I break our kiss and place my lips at her ear.

“You finally gonna let me put it in your ass, baby?”

She scoffs at me and then pinches my nipple. She has opened herself up so much, even making friends of her own, but some things are still a battle of wills and require some blackmail. I’ve promised her that there will be no more outrageous surprises, and it’s a promise I’ve kept so far. There’s just one last big surprise I’m planning. I know it’s going back on a promise but seriously, who tells someone they’re about to propose marriage? I plan on doing it at my next exhibition. The paintings are all ready to go. I hope she uncovers the hidden messages in all of them.
