Chapter 30

Dealing With A Rat

Pulling into the clubhouse, Alina immediately took Cassandra upstairs to freshen up as per Ivan’s directions.

Hammer strolled into his office. Rip immediately began to round up the brother’s for church. When Hammer entered the room on his brothers had just cracked open the small safe they’d taken from the dock. Dumping out the contents on Hammer’s desk, he began to log in the spoils. Everyone watched as he counted out close to a hundred and seventy dollars in small bundles of hundreds. There was a small bag of cut diamonds. Marlow looked up from a small blank book with scribbling in it.

“It’s his diary. You aren’t going to believe this but each one of those diamonds represents a woman Miguel sold. One perfect carat diamond is the price of a woman. Roughly eight to ten grand is the going rate of a pretty woman. I honestly never knew.” The man’s sarcastic tone spoke volumes of his disapproval.

Hammer replied casually. “Except for one particular woman. Seems they abducted one with some high class special training on being submissive. Her last master paid close to a million dollars for her. This is a pretty good haul for us. We don’t have to split it with the Russians because we agreed to allow them to take custody of the woman instead. Before you get your panties in a bunch. I agreed because she asked real nice like to be allowed to go with them. Think about it this way. If she has no place to go, why would she be interested in staying here with a bunch of bikers when she can with men who understand her apparent value?”

Marlow murmured, “That actually makes sense.”

Turnkey spoke up. “Makes sense hell. They were doting on the broad like she was carved of pure gold. Ain’t no woman worth that kind of groveling.”

A round of laughter went around the room, leaving Hammer with a smile on his face.

Hammer announced. “Twenty-five percent to the club vault and we split the rest between brother, all twenty.” Marlow jerked his head up and he smiled. Hammer spoke again. “You heard me, ever single man who spent time on the inside gets a patch. Turnkey comes in as a patch. That makes us twenty strong.”

Rip’s slow draw broke the confused silence. “Better count again. We got twenty-one.”

Facing his crew, Hammer’s gaze turned on Booker. “About that. We got ourselves a little problem with the Grim Crew having information on our routs that only patched members are told. I couldn’t for the life of me figure out who might be sharing confidential Kingsmen business with the Grim Crew, then Turnkey shared something interesting with me. Seems Miguel visited one of our brothers in jail. Care to know who that someone was?”

Looking around the room, he noticed that only Booker had his head down. As he stared at the man, the others noticed. Before long all eyes were turned on the man’s guilty continence.

Looking up at his brothers, the man began to deny the accusation. “I never saw him on the inside. I swear, I never spoke to him.”

Hammer pulled out the now slightly crumpled evidence and held it up. “Your sign in sheet says otherwise.”

Marlow rose from the ledger and crossed the room. “Miguel kidnapped Jaden and tried to kill us. Were you even on our side when the shooting started? We trusted you to cover our asses. Hell, we even had Alina there both times.”

When Booker didn’t respond, Marlow spoke again. His voice was low and harsh.

“Please tell me you weren’t shooting at us. Tell me that much.”

Turning to Rip, Hammer instructed. “Lock him up downstairs. We’ll deal with him after we get rested up.”

“Want me to have a little talk with him?”

Hammer shook his head no but the words coming out of his mouth didn’t match up. “Go ahead and see what you can get. You know what kind of information we’re looking for.”

“Sure thing, boss. I’ll let you know what I find.”

Booker stood up. “Don’t do this. I’m Miguel’s cousin. He’ll pay to get me back.”

Hammer whispered in shock. “That was the main thing I wanted to know. He’s been in Miguel’s pocket the entire time and we never even knew it. Take him away, Rip. Do what you have to get to the rest of it.”

Looking none too happy, Rip moved forward as a couple of brother’s drug Booker along with them. The man was working himself into a full blown panic and it frightened the females as he was drug through the main recreation room.

Hammer held up both hand in a calming gesture. “We just discovered he been working for the Grim Crew the entire time he’s been with us. You all know Kingsmen rules about shit like that, so calm the fuck down.”

Everyone sat back down but there was an air of sadness in the room. Hammer yelled, “Hey, why the long faces. The Grim Crew’s getting picked up by the police as we speak and they ain’t gettin’ out for good goddamn long time. The way I see it, this is a celebration. Until nine pm it’s a kid friendly one though. I’m sure the brothers would all love some turkey.”

He watched as people began moving again. Marlow gestured him back into his office and handed him the phone.

“Son Schu here and he not very happy. Son Schu want his guns now.”

Hammer gritted his teeth. Just great. “Sorry we missed you shipment date Son Schu. We’ll make it up to you.”

“Son Schu know all about Kingsmen problems. Ham Hammer in the slam slammer. You out now. You give extra gun?”

Hammer frowned that he’d somehow started a trend. “I have something better. I send Son Schu one shiny new diamond. One caret perfect diamond. Worth ten grand. Make Mrs. Son Schu very happy.”

“That good, Ham Hammer. You give good trade. Bye bye now.”

Before he could answer the phone went dead. The crazy little fucker had hung up on him.
