Knocked Up on Valentine's Day: A Single Dad Billionaire Romance by Amy Brent (103)

Chapter 22

Charlie

Our beautiful night of dancing and passion woke me up early Friday morning. I kept dreaming about his body and all the things we had done to one another, and a wild thought popped into my mind. This entire week since we’d gotten back from the Bahamas, L had been treating me to things. All the deliveries, dinners, bottles of wine, flowers, chocolates, even a dress, not to mention the salacious ministrations with his tongue. Every single thing had been initiated by him, no doubt wanting to make sure I knew he was thinking of me.

But, I had done nothing in return to show that I was thinking of him.

I went to work that morning and did some discreet research on my personal phone. I looked up things in the area we could do that were private and within my budget, and I found private boats I could rent by the hour. L was always shelling out his big billionaire bucks to whisk me away and buy me all these rich foods and decadent dresses, so I figured I could dip into my savings just this once and treat him to something he would never forget.

I booked the boat on my phone and paid it through the night before I took out my burner phone and shot L a message.

MBM. 6 o’clock.

I was hoping he would understand that ‘MBM’ stood for Miami Beach Marina and that I wanted him there promptly at 6. I didn’t get a message back from him, so I wasn’t even sure if he’d checked his phone today, but I hurried through my work anyway and was walking out of the office by 4:30. I had a dinner to purchase and pack before I could take a shower and get myself ready for the evening. The boat was going to be taking us out onto the ocean and we would be enjoying a picnic dinner underneath the setting sun.

Just the two of us alongside a captain and first mate who I’d specifically instructed to keep to the bridge.

I dressed in a flowing dress and slid on a pair of flip flops before I grabbed the cooler of food and drinks. I wanted to get there a few minutes early and make sure everything was set up, then I stood there and waited as 6 o’clock slowly rolled around. I wrung my hands in nervous anticipation while I kept my burner phone tucked into my bra. I still hadn’t heard from L at all that day, but the moment his body crested the steps of the dock I felt my skin crawl with excitement.

He looked absolutely stunning. Linen pants against his muscular thighs caught my attention, and the button down shirt he carried over his shoulder flowed in the slight breeze coming off the ocean, his rippling abs beckoning to my fingertips. He’d come shirtless, no doubt trying to fire me up before we got the surprise underway, and I could see how impressed he was with the boat from the moment he stepped on.

“Can’t honestly say I’ve been surprised before,” he said.

“I knew I’d be the first in something eventually,” I said, winking.

“Everyone ready!?” the captain called from his nest.

“Yes, sir, Captain, sir!” I said.

I took L’s hand and led him to bow of the ship, carrying the cooler in my other hand. We sat on the luxurious seating while the ocean breeze poured over our skin, and he helped me unpack all the snacks I’d prepared for this evening. Little cucumber sandwiches, grapes to easily pop in our mouths, and a bottle of wine to be shared. Cheese, pretzels and chocolate covered raisins completed the meal, but I’d even packed little cheesecake bites just in case we wanted something extra sweet for afterwards.

“You really thought of everything here, didn’t you?” he asked.

“I figured it would be a nice surprise. You’re always treating me to things, and I figured it was my turn to treat you to something,” I said.

“How much did this cost you, Charlie?” he asked.

“Rude. Do I ever ask you those types of questions?” I asked.

“I’m just—”

“Stop worrying,” I said, settling my hand on his knee. “Just enjoy it.”

We sat in relative silence while we slowly ate the small sandwiches I had prepared. Miami slowly fell into the background while the sun began to set off in the distance, and there was a brief moment where you could see the twinkling of the stars while the sun still splattered its colors in the sky. It was breath-taking, feeling the bobbing of the boat while the sun slowly set and we were blanketed in darkness.

But the feeling of something cool against my lips ripped me from my trance.

“Take a bite,” L said.

I plucked the grape from between his fingertips and chewed it slowly for him to see. He placed a small kiss on my cheek before he wrapped his arm around my shoulders, and my body melted into his before he lifted another grape to my lips.

“Aren’t I supposed to be feeding you this stuff?” I asked.

“No,” he said.

One by one, small bites of food were plucked from between his fingertips. A few grapes here, a cube of cheese there. There was even a point where he lifted my wine glass to my lips, allowing himself to fully and completely serve me whatever it was he wanted to see me eat while darkness fully covered the sky.

“The stars are beautiful tonight,” I said.

“I’ve never seen them out here like this,” he said.

“Probably because Miami stays so bright. Oh my gosh, L. Look at how many there are.”

“I’d rather look at you,” he said.

I lifted myself from his body and turned to face him. His eyes were stern and his lips were pulled taut. I could tell he was thinking about something—something serious and urgent—and I wanted to know what was going on.

“L. Are you alright?” I asked.

“I’m just—”

I waited for his answer, but all he did was hold my stare. The stars twinkled above our heads while the boat continued to roar out into the ocean, and before I knew it he was pulling me to my feet and close into his body.

“I’m just not used to this, is all,” he said into my ear.

“You deserve to be treated, too, L,” I said. “Just because you’re the one with all the money doesn’t mean someone shouldn’t surprise you with something every once in a while.”

“I’m still concerned about how much this cost you,” he said.

“Please, don’t be. Okay?”

He slipped his arms around my back and pulled me close to him. I could feel his heart hammering against his chest as I pressed my cheek against him, and our bodies began to sway underneath the moonlight while the boat parted the waters of the ocean. I closed my eyes, drinking it all in while breathing in his scent. Soon, the cool air of the ocean waters began to shiver my body, and his hands rubbed up and down my back before he pressed a warm kiss to the top of my head.

“Thank you,” he said.

“For what?” I asked.

“This evening.”

“Well, you’re very welcome,” I said, looking up at him.

“I hope you won’t hold the lack of conversation against me. I’m just—”

“Not used to it. I get it. It’s alright,” I said, smiling.

“Are you thirsty?” he asked.

“Not particularly. Are you?” I asked.

“A bit,” he said.

“Well, hold on.”

I bent down and picked up his wine glass before I raised it to his lips. He cocked an eyebrow slightly at me, wondering what in the world I expected him to do, so I touched the glass lightly to his lips before he wrapped them around the edge. I tipped it up towards him, the wine flowing freely into his mouth. I watched his Adam’s apple bob with every sip he took, mesmerized by its motions.

I was so taken by how his body moved that I felt his hand cover mine before he brought the glass down from his lips.

“Whoops,” I said, giggling. “Sorry.”

A single drop of wine fell from the corner of his mouth, teasing me with its trail as it slowly broke against his chin. Without thinking, I raised up on my tiptoes and kissed the trail, lightly licking it away before I captured his lips with mine.

I heard the wine glass clink against the boat’s floor before L’s arm slid around my waist.

“You taste like cucumber and grapes,” he said, whispering into my lips.

“And you taste like dessert,” I said, smirking against his skin.

All at once, his hands were all over me. They cupped my ass and pulled me close to him, and I could feel him growing against my leg while his lips devoured mine. I was thankful the Captain and First Mate had kept to the nest like I’d asked, because that meant I could take this beautiful man below deck, and the surprises I had planned for him were nothing short of spine-shivering.

“Come on,” I said. “Follow me.”

I broke the kiss before I took his hand, then I led him down below deck. The small staircase gave way to a well-appointed cabin with a sprawling couch that lined the entire wall space around the room. There was a massive ottoman with its top cast off to the side, set up by myself before L had arrived to partake in this adventure.

I had filled the inside with all sorts of toys and edibles for us to enjoy with one another.

“Holy shit, Charlie,” he said, murmuring.

“I need to tell you something,” I said, turning my body to him. “I need to—admit something.”

“Alright,” he said. “What is this admission you seek to proclaim?”

“I need you to know how much I crave you,” I said.

“And just how much is that?” he asked, as an evil glint rose in his eye.

“There isn’t a night that goes by that I don’t think about you,” I said. “There isn’t a morning that begins where I don’t wish you were there, especially after waking up to you all last weekend. There isn’t a shower I take where I don’t want you there, and every single time I get a message from you on that burner phone, my skin crawls before I open it. Because I know when I do, I’m about to add another adventure to my world. Another memory to my mind. Another part of my life will be touched by you, and that excites me in ways I can’t possibly explain.”

His stare was intense and his body was slowly stepping towards mine. I was painfully aware of how close he had gotten to me, and by the time I was done with my little speech his hand was cradling the back of my head. I craned my neck back to keep my eyes locked onto his while his body hovered over mine, and I could feel my heart trying to leap from my chest as my blood rushed through my ears.

“And I wanted to give you that same sensation with the message I sent earlier today,” I said. “I wanted you to… experience what you’ve given me. I wanted you to know that you’re on my mind just like I’m on yours. You deserve that, L. You deserve to know how much you’re craved by me.”

His eyes danced between mine as his face slowly got closer. I could feel his hot breath against my lips, my legs trembling underneath me while his cock raged against my body.

“Did you feel it?” I asked with a whisper. “When I sent you that message this morning?”

He dipped his forehead against mine, his lips mere millimeters away while his fingertips wound themselves in the tendrils of my hair.

“Please tell me you did,” I said breathlessly.

“Yes,” he said, his voice rumbling my ribcage. “I did.”

And I closed the gap between the two of us before we sank our bodies onto the couch.
