Knocked Up on Valentine's Day: A Single Dad Billionaire Romance by Amy Brent (93)

Chapter 12

Charlie

“Secret affair it is,” I said, agreeing.

Holy fuck, I did it. I had agreed to keep sleeping with my boss while keeping it in the shadows. I felt powerful and on top of the world. For the first time in my life, I felt as though my presence had weight in someone’s life. Ellison James was willing to risk everything he had worked for just to sink his body into mine, and there was something very flattering and powerful about that reality.

Which meant this would all go downhill. Good things like this never came without consequences, and if this shit got out it would literally cost me my job. Women I worked with would no longer regard me as a respectful businesswoman because they would assume I’d always been sucking dick to get where I am. They would simply figure this was the first time I’d got caught, because I was confident enough to go to the boss man, and then L would have to fire me in order to seem fair and understanding.

He’d have to protect himself from all the lawsuits and wrong termination issues he’d face for screwing a coworker, because there were many people he laid off who fucked around in the office with their higher ups or other co-workers. The only reason he could get away with it was because he practiced what he preached. We all knew Sheila would throw herself at him and he would intentionally make a scene of turning her down to reinforce the point, but what about now?

Even as I stared into his eyes that were bright with excitement at our newfound adventure, I couldn’t say I wasn’t worried. I loved my job. I loved working for his company because I enjoyed what they did and what they stood for. Ellison James wasn’t the shark in the room, he was the smooth operator. His right-hand man, Mr. Mike Broken-leg, was the shark. That man was ruthless in the boardroom sometimes, and his contribution was one of the reasons why L’s company had risen to such success.

But, even within all that success, they never indulged in gray-area practices, and it made L—along with his company—one of the most respected businesses in the country, and a model that countless others now strived to replicate. Moving up the chain of command in a company like this, while learning all I could in the process, had solidified my career in anything having to do with real estate, but by hopping on L’s dick, I had jeopardized all of that.

I wanted to open my own real estate development business one day. I originally took an internship here while I was in school in Miami. But, when I graduated, the company offered me an entry level position. From there, I worked as hard as I could and pulled ridiculous fucking hours to prove myself in the tasks I was given, and I was given every single promotion opportunity I pursued. I went from working in the proverbial mailroom to a full time salaried management team position in record time, then was offered the opportunity to travel with the owner of the company and demonstrate my skills in the boardroom.

I proved myself by helping him solidify every single one of those investors, and now I was fucking him and ruining everything.

If this got out, everything I’d been working for would be useless.

My job was invaluable to me, and I couldn't fuck it up.

“What’s on your mind?” he asked.

“I really don’t want this to fuck anything up, L,” I said. I had to be honest with him. I was just as worried about his career as I was mine own. His entire image and the foundation on which he’d built his company overseas would crumble underneath him if someone found out he was banging an employee.

“Leave that up to me. You just worry about yourself. I’m not the only one in the crosshairs here,” he said.

“We both could lose everything,” I said. “I could lose my job so you could save face to the public, but your reputation would still be tarnished. Everything I’ve worked for in your company would be completely gone and would be useless to me in my own personal endeavors.”

“What are your own personal endeavors?” he asked.

“I want to build my own real estate development business.”

“Ah, so you’ll eventually be competition,” he said, smirking.

“Not on the level you are, no. I think that real estate development and building your own house can be accessible to the masses without cutting corners. I want to cater to those who still dream of having a white-picket fence on two acres without having to sell their soul to get it.”

His eyes danced along my face, and for a split second I thought he was going to go back on all this. Even with all my fears and hesitations, I was petrified he was about to get up, leave, and never come back.

Just like in Helsinki.

“There’s a lot at stake, yes,” he said. “I’d be branded a hypocrite, I’d have to spend years rebuilding my reputation, my employees would lose respect for me, and I’d probably even lose some clients. Many of those investors in that boardroom you presented to are there because they align with my interoffice romance policy,” he said.

“Then what the fuck are we doing, L?” I asked.

“I mean, have you felt your pussy? Wars could be started over that thing,” he said, grinning.

“I’m serious,” I said, jostling him playfully. “I have to admit I’m worried.”

“I need you to understand something. If this backfires, I’ve got your back. I’m not going to let your entire life go to waste after something like this. It’s a mutual decision between two consenting parties, and while you have to understand that I would do what was necessary for the business, I would never toss you out on your ass. Not after all the work you’ve done for this company.”

“No favoritism, remember?” I asked.

“That isn’t favoritism. It’s called an investment. Or a loan. Or a glowing referral. You’ve sunk most of your adult life up until this point in my company, and that’s worth something. That’s not favoritism, that’s just the truth,” he said.

“But, L—”

“Charlie, I understand that there is risk. But, right now—in this moment—the reward outweighs all those risks. The time I spend with you—deep within you—is worth all that risk.”

“Are you fucking serious?” I asked breathlessly.

“Very, and if we stick to the plan, we won’t get caught,” he said.

“So, what’s the plan, Stan?” she asked.

“No interacting at work unless it’s necessary, and no meeting at my place. If we want to meet up, we come here or we travel separately out of town to see one another. I’ve have no issues with getting hotels in other areas, and I have a cabin up north that’s practically shielded from society.”

“Oooh, sounds cozy,” I said.

“Nothing at work, no interaction there unless it’s necessary. Oh, and wear a trash bag to work.”

“Wait, what?” I asked.

“You gotta stop wearing those fucking clothes of yours. Your tits look gorgeous in them and I can’t stop staring,” he said.

“Were you staring before all this started?” I asked.

“Oh, yeah.”

“Then, we’ll just blame it on that if you can’t keep your eyes to yourself. I’ll keep my eyes to myself and keep it professional, and you can brush it off as being a chauvinistic man-pig.”

“Man-pig, got it,” he said. “There are other precautions we should take as well.”

“Like what?” I asked.

“There are many things that go into the level of business I conduct, things you wouldn’t believe. I’m pretty sure my phones are tapped on a regular basis by my major competitor trying to get the scoop on new products, which is why I’m always feeding misinformation at random points.”

“Is that why you won’t go completely paperless? Because it drives some of us nuts,” I said.

“That’s exactly why. If we wanna communicate in the office, we can, but we’ll need to use burner phones to do so.”

“It’s like a regular spy movie,” I said.

“And you can’t be listed in my phone as ‘Charlie,’ and could I be in yours as ‘L’ either.”

“Oh, that’s okay. I was just gonna put you as ‘big dicked lover’ anyway,” I said.

“That works. I’ll put you as ‘creamy tits’ and we’ll call it a day,” he said, grinning.

“We’re good at this. This should be, like, a side gig,” I said. “We could contract out our work to help rich people conduct salacious affairs right in the middle of their workdays.”

“We could hold secretive workshops and help them get some hands-on experience,” he said.

“Which is just an excuse for you to stick your dick in some more people,” I said, smiling.

“Only if you watched, baby,” he said jokingly.

“Hey, its ‘creamy tits,’ not ‘baby.’ Get it right, will ya?”

We giggled on the couch for a while before the reality of what we were discussing dawned on both of us. Our smiles slowly dropped and a somber atmosphere settled over my room, and suddenly I felt very nervous.

“We should really outline the places we can go, and maybe give those nicknames, too,” I suggested.

“Good idea. We could call the cabin ‘vacation,’ maybe?” he said.

“Alright. That’s good. Simple. What do you wanna call here?” I asked.

“What about ‘home’?” he asked.

“You wanna call my dingy apartment ‘home?’ Really?” I said.

“If we go with a domestic trend and stick with domestic names, someone will just assume I’m developing a relationship I wanna keep away from the media. They won’t assume it’s a sordid affair if the definitions of these places are innocent,” he said.

“Fair enough. But, what if we want to meet out of town or some shit like that?” I asked.

“What if we called it ‘dinner’ and then I send you the address?” he asked.

“Well, that’s fine and all, but if someone hacks this shit like the super stealth spies you claim are watching you and they find that address, they’ll just come and see us for themselves.”

“Good point. Well, what if we didn’t do out of town at all then?” he asked. “What if we just stuck to your apartment and the cabin?”

“That’s fine, but how would I get to the cabin?” I asked.

“I’d take my private jet and I’d purchase you a ticket on a traditional airline,” he said.

“You could tell me we were going on a surprise vacation and send me the time and airline or something,” I said.

“Sounds pretty ingenious to me,” he said.

“You’d think that about your plans, wouldn’t you?”

“Well, that’s settled then. I’ll get you a burner phone, so look for it in the mail sometime in the next couple of days. I’m not gonna pass it off to you at work, so for the next little while—until you get that phone—no intentional communication in the office.”

“Got it, boss,” I said, winking.

I watched him get up from the couch and begin to put his pants on. I was nervous about this plan, reciting everything he had told me so I could ingrain it into my memory. Somehow, I knew I was gonna fuck this up. I had to write this shit down somewhere and then burn it so no one could find it.

But, I’d seen too many movies. That shit never worked.

I knew what I could do, I could recite it to myself in the shower tonight. God knows I’d need to take one after he’d crusted up my thighs again with his juices.

“You alright, Charlie?” he asked.

His voice hit my ears like melted silk, and I was immediately ripped back into the trance that was him. The truth was, I was addicted to L. His dick filled me in all the right ways and he attended to my body using motions I didn’t think were possible. Multiple orgasms were practically a given with him in bed, but I also enjoyed the conversations we had.

I was addicted to how he made me feel in every single way, and as long as I felt I could keep up this ruse, I would.

No matter what the hell it meant for my career.

“Oh, I’m just splendid,” I said. “But, I’d be better if you threw me my pants.”

“I liked that, by the way,” he said, as he tossed my jeans to me.

“What?” I asked.

“You going commando. Do that more often,” he said.

“Aye-aye, Captain.”

“You’re insane, you know that?” he asked.

“And yet, you can’t stop fucking me. I wonder what that makes you,” I asked playfully.

And as my eyes rose to connect to his while I stood from the couch, a devilish grin played across his cheeks that sent shivers down my spine.

“I suppose that makes me your doctor,” he said.

“Doctor-patient role play, I could get behind that,” I said.

“I’ll keep that in mind for our next vacation,” he said.

“Looking forward to it, doctor.”
