Billionaire Desire: A Billionaire Romance by Lauren Wood (1)

Prologue

Charlie sent me to go to the copier and get the rest of the copies of the invoices that he had for the month. He was doing better than he had last month and I know that it was because he was working a little harder. he was coming in earlier and something had changed for Charlie.

It was getting late and I was tired. I wanted to go home, but I knew that I couldn't go home until Charlie did. He was burning the midnight oil tonight and of course, I had to as well.

I was walking down the hallway towards the copy room, when I heard some giggling. I should have just kept going, but for some reason I stopped. The sound was coming from the broom closet, of all places.

“Stop Hail. You know that we shouldn't be doing this in here.”

It was silence for a moment and then I heard him moan and she whimpered. If I didn't know any better, I would think that it was Margie from accounting. She was young and pretty and blonde. That was everything that he wanted from what I could tell and he had a lot of women that he was into.

I thought about the man who was on the other side of the door, doing something to a woman that made her sound that way. The problem was that I didn't know what it was. I had never giggled like that and I didn't think I ever would. Would anybody ever make me feel that way? Sound that way? Why all of a sudden did I want it so badly?

I was embarrassed that I was standing there, but at the same time, my feet were planted solid on the floor underneath me and I wasn't able to move. I wanted to see what was happening, more than I wanted to hear it. I had always liked Hail. Probably a little bit more than I was supposed to. He was handsome and dashing and smart and charming and so many other things. The problem was that he would never even notice me, because it was always going to be girls like Margie.

“What are you doing?”

“I'm just coming down here to get a taste. Pull your panties down and hike your leg up to my shoulder. Then I will have all the that I need to give you want you want.”

I felt something come over me with his words. His voice was gruff and there was a gravelly texture to it. If he would've said something like that to me, I don't think I would've been able to stop myself from doing what he asked. How could anybody say no to a man like Hail?”

There was some shuffling on the other side of the door and then I heard a sound from Margie. She was whimpering and moaning, and she sounded like she was either hurt or in a lot of pleasure. While I hadn't done some things myself, I had certainly seen videos that depicted it. I knew what he was doing to her and I had to squeeze my thighs together to get it out of my mind. How badly did I want to be her right now?

“Evony? Come on, let’s get those invoices so we can check them!”

I looked behind me and saw that Charlie was looking down the hallway towards me. I was supposed to be getting copies, not this. Now I was busted listening to what was going on in the broom closet.

“I'll be there in just a minute.”

“Well don't take too long, we got to get these out tonight.”

I agreed and ran off before I could hear what was going on, towards the other side of the broom closet. One way or another, I had been caught and my face was flaming with the idea of it. Why hadn’t I just kept on walking? It would have been the best thing for me to do.

The copier was running, and I was getting the invoices together, when I saw Margie pass. Her face was probably as red as mine was and she was straightening out the skirt that I knew had previously been hiked up to her neck. Why did I suddenly feel bad that I hadn't been able to hear them finish? I probably would've learned something.

But I pulled my mind away from that. I wasn't here for that. I was an assistant. nothing more. Men like Hail would never look my way, when there were too many Margies in the world.
