Electric Chaos (Controlled Chaos Book 1) by Robin R Edwards (13)

Chapter 24

Katy

I stayed with Kellan for two days, before returning home. This mess with that woman, plus the fact that Colt won’t leave me alone, has my stress level through the roof.

The only time I got a break was when I was with Kellan. He made things so much more tolerable. When my phone rings, I glance at the screen, I don’t recognize the number but answer it anyways.

“Hel o.”

“Ms. Hart?”

“Yes.”

“I told you he was mine and would always be mine. Now, why don’t you do us both a favor and leave him. Do you real y

want to raise another woman’s baby with him?”

“Look, lady. I don’t know how you got my number but if you cal me again, I wil call the cops. But let me make myself clear, if your baby is really his, I will be right by his side all the way. So, whatever your game is, you need to find a different player because I’m not playing it.”

She hangs up before I can say anything else.

She is really starting to piss me off. Who does she think she is? She real y has no clue the kind of relationship me and Kellan have, and she never wil .

So, for the next week, I try to find anything and everything I can on this woman. I look through al my paper work to see if she might have come into the shop before al this started but nothing. I am sitting on my couch with a glass of wine, when there’s a knock on my door. I don’t know who it is, and I don’t care. I continue to sit there and drink my wine.

When my phone goes off, I grab it and look at the screen. Can’t a girl have a little time to herself to wallow, I mean shit!

It’s a text from Kellan

Kellan: Hey babe, busy?

Me: No

Kellan: What are you doing?

Me: Sitting on my couch, drinking wine

Kellan: Answer the door

Huh? I read the text again. Nope it stil says, answer the door. Now, I wonder what he did. I haven’t seen him in too long to count and I miss him.

When there is another knock on the door, I go to answer it. Pulling it open, I let out a squeak as I am pushed back inside the door. I blink and sure enough, Kel an is standing there. I squeal and jump at him, crushing my mouth on his.

“What are you doing here?”

“We decided to make a quick stop

home. I’m only here for tonight.”

I feel my face fall. I only have one night with him. This sucks!

“Don’t look so sad, babe.”

“I’m not sad. I’m glad you’re here.”

I kiss his lips again, moving to his neck. He lets out a moan. He moves one hand from my ass and places it in my hair, pul ing my head back.

“Babe, why were you drinking

alone?”

“I was having a pity party?”

He carries me toward my bedroom.

“Why?”

“Somehow that woman, the one who

is saying she is pregnant with your child, wel she got my number and called me.”

“Babe, what did she say?”

“Nothing except, that I should go ahead and leave now. That you are hers just like she said…blah, blah, blah.”

“This wil all be over soon. It wil be ok. I promise.”

I kiss him again. I love that he is so optimistic.

“I sure hope so.”

“You think we should change your

number?”

“No. I told her if she called me again, she wouldn’t like the outcome. So, I don’t think she will call me again.”

“Ok. It’s your choice.”

When I wake the next morning, I smile. I’m wrapped in warm arms and a hard body.

Kellan is asleep behind me. When I go to turn, his arms tighten. When I finally get turned, I look up at him, and kiss his chin.

He grins at me.

“When does the tour end?”

“We have about another three

months. Why?”

“I miss you and can’t wait to have you all to myself.”

He pulls me so that I am lying flat against him.

“Me either. I want you to have me all to yourself too.”

When he leaves, I feel empty and lonely. I have never felt this way with a guy and it kind of freaks me out. Yes, I have loved him for a long time, but since I never acted on those feelings, I never had to worry about all the other feelings that go along with love.

Pushing my feelings to the back of my mind, I grab my laptop and open it. It’s time I start to use my brain. I need to figure out if Colt has anything to do with this situation. I start by going through al his social media accounts. Maybe he will have a picture of her on there or something.

After hours of reviewing his social media accounts, I am no closer to linking them together, then I was before. I don’t know if he is behind this or not, but if he is, I real y don’t know what I wil do.

When I started my relationship with Colt, he seemed like a nice guy. The only reason I even gave him a chance was because he reminded me of Kellan in a way. He didn’t seem like someone who would do

something like this just to get his way. I guess you really can never know a person.

Not really.

That night when Kel an calls, I tel him about me going through al of Colt’s social media pages and not finding anything. He tells me that he still hasn’t heard from his PI friend. I wish he would hurry up and give us something. This whole this is driving me crazy.

For the next month, I stay focused on my shop. I had a client ask me to create her a wedding dress, while I was surprised, I was pleased she thought of me and asked.

Wedding dresses aren’t real y my thing. I create more rock/punk style clothes. Yes, I have some bal gowns, maybe even some fifties styled outfits but mostly they have a rock feel. Luckily, she wanted a punk style dress, so while it’s not real y my thing, I am totally up for the challenge.

I pull myself from my sketch pad

when my phone rings. Since, I don’t know the number, I am a little leery about answering it, since the last time I answered a number I didn’t know, it was the crazy woman, but I do anyway.

“Hel o.”

“Is this Katy Hart?”

“Yes, it is. How can I help you?”

“My name is Carly Michaels. I’m the PA for Starla. She would like to meet with you. Are you free tomorrow around five?”

Holy shit! Starla, the rock princess, wants to meet with me? Seriously? This is awesome.

Even if I had something to do, I don’t now.

“Sure.”

“Great. Is there an entrance we can use that won’t draw attention?”

“Yes, there’s a back door.”

When I hang up the phone, I let out a girly squeal, then I call Kellan.

“Hey babe.” He sounds sleepy. I look at the clock and wince. “Sorry. I didn’t think about the time.”

“It’s ok. What’s up?”

“Starla wants to meet with me. She’s coming by tomorrow.”

“That’s awesome right?”

“Hel , yeah.”

He laughs. Damn. I need him here, so I can kiss his face.
