Chapter 13
Kellan
I watch Katy as all the guys
congratulate us on our new relationship.
I’m not sure of all the thoughts running through her head, but from the look on her face, shock is definitely one. I place a kiss on the side of her neck, before grabbing my plate and following the guys into the dining room.
Once the guys finish their pizza, they say their goodbyes and head out. I turn and find Katy sitting on the couch, on her phone.
“Hey, you ok?”
“Yeah, why?”
“I meant with the guys knowing
about us?”
I watch as she gets up and walks toward me. Leaning up on her toes, she wraps her
arms around my neck, and says, “Yeah. I’m glad they know.”
“Good, because hiding our
relationship would have sucked.”
“I don’t want to hide anything.”
I pull back and look down at her. “Go get ready for bed. I want to talk to you and I want you comfortable when I do.”
I swat her on the ass and direct her toward the bedroom. Once I hear the shower, I quickly clean up the pizza mess, before heading to the bedroom. I need to tel her about the last three months. I also need to let her know, I went today and got tested.
Even though, I used protection with every girl I was with, I stil wanted to make sure I was clean before we have sex.
Once inside the bedroom, I stand in the doorway for a minute, just to take her in. She is sitting, legs crossed in the middle of the bed, brushing out her hair. When she sees me, she gives me a smile and pats the
bed. I smile back, before walking over and sitting down beside her.
“Katy, I need to tel you something.”
She sets her brush down and turns so we are face to face. “Ok, tell me.”
Deciding to start at the beginning, I tel her,
“you know when you told me about you and Colt getting engaged, I didn’t exactly take it well.”
“Yeah, so…”
I cut her off before she can finish, “Well, there’s no easy way to say this but I kind of went crazy. I started drinking a lot and started having sex with any girl that wanted to.”
“Didn’t you do any wil ing girl
before?” she says laughing.
“No.” I place my hands on her face.
“See, I didn’t really hook-up with the groupies a lot. I’m not saying I never did, just not a lot. It’s hard to hook up with
random girls, when none of them are the one you want.”
“Ok, so you did more of them, then you normally would.”
“Wel ….it was more like, two or three a night.”
“At the same time?” she asks with her mouth gaped open.
I run my hand through my hair,
“sometimes.”
“Wel shit!”
“Yeah, and if I didn’t have a girl I was drinking myself into oblivion. The other night when you showed up here, wel that was the first night I have been sober in three months.”
Katy doesn’t say anything, just stares at me.
“I wanted to tel you and let you know, I want to start our relationship with a clean slate. I went and was tested today. I always used protection but before our
relationship goes that far, I wanted to make sure I was clean.”
“Ok, while I’m glad you did that, I’m stil stuck on the more than one girl at a time. You do realize that that will never happen with me. I don’t share, not with another girl or another man. So, if that’s something you want, then I’m not the right girl for you.”
Placing my thumb under her chin, I lift her head so our eyes meet. “It’s not, your al I want. I was doing those girls, to try and get the thought of you and Colt out of my head.
It didn’t work. The more I got into my head the more I felt like I had already lost my best friend.”
“Ok, I’m kind of upset that you were drinking instead of talking to me about how you felt. First, you need to know that no matter who I am with, you wil never lose me as your best friend. No guy wil ever make me choose because it wil always be you, no matter what. Second, if we are
going to be in a relationship, then we have to talk to each other, and be honest.”
“I promise. I wil always be honest with you.”
“Good, now is that all you needed to tell me?”
“Yes, that’s all.”
“Ok, my turn.”
Damn, I don’t want to know about who she has fucked.
“Colt came into the shop today.”
What? That’s not what I expected her to say.
“What did he want?”
“He tried to explain and lie his way out of the mess. I didn’t fal for it and kicked him out.”
“Good.”
“Yeah, but I don’t think he wil give up that easily.”
“We’l handle it, if he decides to come back.”
“We wil ?”
“Yes, we. We are in this together.”
She throws her arms around my neck.
“Thank you.”
“You never have to ask. You know I have your back.” I place a kiss on her neck, before pulling back.
“I guess we better get ready for bed.”
