Electric Chaos (Controlled Chaos Book 1) by Robin R Edwards (18)

Chapter 29

Kellan

I don’t know how Maddox managed

to get her here or how I managed to stay away from her, but I did, and she is here.

Taking my guitar from Dane, I look out at the audience until I find her. Katy is right where Maddox said she would be.

“See, I messed up things recently and hurt someone I love very much. I can’t say how sorry I am, so I hope this song says it all. Katy, I love you so much and I am so damn sorry.” With that, I start the song.

When I finish, I sit the guitar down and walk to the side of the stage. Maddox appears, claps me on my shoulder, before heading to center stage.

I take the water bottle handed to me as I exit. The rest of the guys are standing

around, each talking with a different member of the crew. I walk over to where my favorite guitar is, pick it up and get ready to finish our set.

Not long after that, we are back on stage. I don’t hear the screaming fans, al I hear is the music. When we are finished, I hand my guitar over to the crew, and walk off backstage with Jasper.

“Do you think it worked? The song, I mean?” Jasper asks.

“I honestly don’t know, but I sure as hel hope so.” I tel him.

When he says, “me too.” I look at him.

“What? You two are good together.

She really loves you and puts up with all of us. She always treats us the same, no matter what. It’s hard to find someone like that.”

I know he is right. She does treat everyone the same. She always has. That’s one of the reasons I love her so much.

When we final y get to our dressing room, I stop dead. Katy is standing just inside the room. Her hands are in the back pockets of her jeans. She is gorgeous.

“Hey.” I whisper.

She smiles, “hey.”

“Can we talk?”

She shakes her head no and I feel my heart sink into my stomach.

“I think you said everything you need to say. I on the other hand have not.”

I just stare at her. I really haven’t said all I want to say but I wil let her lead on this one.

“Ok, so do you want to talk here or go somewhere first?”

She doesn’t say anything, just closes the distance between us, goes up on tip toe, wraps her arms around my neck and kisses me.

I wrap my arms around her, and kiss her back. She feels so good and I have missed her so much.

When she pul s back, I look down into her green eyes. “I’m sorry.” Is all she says before she pulls back.

“When I walked into your hotel room and went to find you, only to have Maddox tell me not to open the bedroom door. I didn’t know what to expect, but finding you in bed with that girl, definitely wasn’t it.”

“Katy, I…” She puts her finger over my lips to stop me from talking.

“Let me finish.”

I nod my head and she continues.

“Instead of me questioning what the hel was going on, I just got pissed and left. I couldn’t believe what I had seen and that you would do that to me. I thought you were just like all the other jack-asses I had dated.”

She takes another step back, grabs my hand and leads me over to the couch.

“When I left, I turned my phone off because I needed to go clear my head and having everyone blow my phone up

wouldn’t help me with that, so I left and went to Becca’s. When I final y did turn my phone back on, not only did I have messages from you but from all the guys.

Maddox was final y able to get through to me and he convinced me to come here tonight.”

I take both her hands, “I want you to look me in the eyes when I tel you this ok.”

She shakes her head yes, so I continue.

“That morning you found me in bed with that girl, you and Maddox talking is what woke me up. I thought I was in bed with you, until I smelled the perfume of the girl beside me. I had just sat up in the bed when you walked in. I honestly had no clue of how I ended up in that bed with her. My last recollection was of me in the artist lounge after the show that night. After you

left, the girl got up and said my work here is done and walked out. I had no idea what she was talking about. When I exited the room, Maddox laid into me.”

Now, I stand up and start to pace in front of her. “Later that day, I received a call from Bradley. He told me that Colt and Ms.

Brown are related. I knew somehow that they were the reason that girl ended up in my bed. I just didn’t know how. Maddox made me go to the doctor to be tested and it came back that I was drugged.”

“Kel an, I already know all of this.

Maddox told me when I talked to him.”

I just stare at her. “ok, wel let me tel you the rest. I met with Colt and Ms. Brown.

Come to find out she is married to a senator and has been pregnant a lot, only not by her husband. She has had several

abortions.”

“That bitch is crazy!”

“Actually, yes she is. She gets

pleasure out of hurting others. Anyways, I

made her and Colt sign papers stating that they would leave you and I alone forever and if they didn’t, well let’s just say, all of their dirty little secrets will be revealed.”

Katy stands, and walks to me. Putting her hands on my cheeks. “Kel an, I’m sorry I jumped to conclusions, but it did look bad.

Anyways, the song was so beautiful.”

“Katy, I love you. I wrote that song just for you. I was working on it before you left, but I just couldn’t seem to finish it, until you left. I am sorry for being a dick. If I wouldn’t have been in such a hurry to accuse you of cheating, I wouldn’t have put myself in the spot for this to happen. I am so sorry.”

“Kel an, I love you too.”

I watch as a tear rol s down her face.

I pick her up and crush my mouth to hers.

“Are we ok?”

“Yeah.”

“Good.”
