Chapter 15
Katy
Me and Kel an have been a couple for a little over a month and we really have only seen each other the month he was not on tour. Not much has changed in the way of our relationship, which kind of sucks.
I am finishing up on a dress that my client is coming to get tomorrow, when my phone goes off. Grabbing it, I see it’s a message from Maddox.
Mad: if you can make it, I will have a car ready at eight to pick you up.
Me: I’ll be ready. Is everything ok?
Mad: Everything is fine Katy-Kat, except Kellan is moping like a lost puppy.
I crack up at the last text. I just can’t see Kellan moping.
Racing home, I look through my
clothes and see what I have I can wear. I grab my blue skinny jeans that fit me perfectly, a ripped white tee and a hot pink bra to wear under the ripped tee. Then, I grab my knee-high boots. I curl my hair, so it lays in spiral curls down my back, I put a skul hair pin in one side, pul ing it back away from my face. I give myself a smoky eye and apply cherry red lipstick and I am ready to go.
When the car gets here, I grab my clutch, favorite leather jacket and out the door I go. When I am in the car, I shoot Maddox a text.
Me: Does he know I’m coming?
Mad: No, can you stay until
Tuesday?
Me: Let me see. I’ll let you know once I get there.
Mad: K
I quickly, mental y go through my list of things I need to do, this coming up week. I have everything already ready for pick up.
Monica can handle the shop side, so, I should be good to stay. Hel , I actual y could stay the whole week. That’s if Kellan wants me to.
I call Monica and let her know, I will be out the rest of the week but that I will have my phone, if she needs me. Then, I text Mad to let him know I’m good for the whole week.
Sitting back in the seat, I hope everything goes ok without me. This is the first time in two years I’ve had any time away from my shop and it scares me.
I’m not sure where the guys are
playing tonight, so I just sit back and enjoy the ride and try to clear my head of everything.
About an hour later, the car stops and I am ushered into the back of the stadium where the guys are. Making my way backstage and toward the dressing room, I enjoy hearing the music playing. I
know the guys are on stage. Deciding to stay backstage instead of going out in front, I continue to try and find their dressing room. Once I find the room, I let myself in and place my stuff with Kellan’s. Then, I go back toward the stage. I stop when I hear the song they are playing. They are playing Without You, which is the song they wrote for Ryker. I’m instantly thrown back into childhood.
Me, Kel an and Ryker al running around the playground, then us at teens. Getting into trouble and me listening to Ryker and Kellan play. Then, to finding out one of my best friends was dead. The pain inside me, the pain that is still there. I reach up and wipe a tear away. I hate to cry and I definitely don’t want the guys to see me cry.
I’m standing there, with my hands in my back pockets when they exit the stage.
Kellan is talking with Maddox and doesn’t see me at first. Then, Maddox elbows him in the side and nods in my direction. Kellan follows his nod and when he sees me, his
eyes go huge. Then, a big smile spreads across his face.
He walks toward me and once he
reaches me, he grabs me around the waist and lifts me. I wrap my legs around his waist and my arms around his neck.
“Hey Kel, miss me?”
“Hel yeah, I missed you.”
Then his lips are on mine. He’s all sweaty but I don’t care. I have missed him too. I deepen the kiss, then pull back before I can get carried away.
“Kel, we have an audience.”
“I don’t care.”
“But I do.” I smile at him. Unwrap my legs and slide down, until my feet hit the floor.
“Let’s get you cleaned up. Then, we can talk.”
“Fine” he says with a pout.
We walk to the dressing room, hand in hand.
When Kel an is in the shower,
Maddox comes over.
“So, have you told him you’re here for the week?”
“Not yet, but I wil .”
“What’s wrong?”
“Nothing. Why?”
“Come on Katy-Kat. Don’t lie to me. I know that look and that tone.”
I swallow, “What if he doesn’t want me here?”
“Girl, trust me, he has been nothing but mopey since we left. He wil want you here.”
Before I can respond Kel an comes sauntering over to us. Wrapping his arm around my waist, he says, “ready?”
“Yeah.”
I wrap my arm around his waist and he leads me out. We walk past a bunch of people and once they spot Kel an, they start yelling at him. He looks down at me, “do you mind?”
“No, go ahead.”
We walk toward them, and I step back as Kellan does his Rockstar thing.
One girl, yel s “remember me?”
Kellan doesn’t answer her, but she continues. “We were together in New York.
Wanna go for round two?”
Kellan stil doesn’t answer her question, and I can’t help but feel jealous. He wraps up and heads back to me.
“Um…you want to answer that girl?”
“Nope.”
That’s all he says, before leading me away.
We climb onto the bus and he leads me toward the back. Stepping into the room, he shuts the door behind us. I walk over and
sit on the edge of the bed. I really hope it’s clean.
“Please tel me this bed is clean?”
“Yeah, it’s clean. I have been sleeping in here.”
“Oh.”
I watch as he walks over to the dresser and removed a piece of paper. Turning, he hands it to me.
“What’s this?”
“Open it.”
I open and read it. It’s his test results and he is all clean. I sit the paper down and look up at him.
“Wel , that’s good news. Now, my
turn.” I pat the spot beside me. Once he sits, I turn and look at him. “I took off the whole week. If you would like, I can stay with you until next Sunday.”
Before, I can take my next breath, his lips are on mine.
I wrap my arms around his neck and let him deepen the kiss. It’s not long and I’m lost to his kiss. When he starts to push my jacket off my arms, I let him. Actual y, I help him get it off. Then, I put my arms back around his neck.
When he lays me down on the bed, I al ow it and pull him down with me. While all this is happening, he never breaks our kiss and I love it!
