Chapter Three

Alex Shapiro stepped out into the courtyard of the rundown estate their clan had been inhabiting the last couple months since coming to New Mexico. The cool sands of the Chihuahuan Desert whipped around the cracked adobe walls. The July heat had been higher than usual and the temps were threatening to go over one hundred degrees in the coming days.

He took a long drink from the long neck bottle of beer and allowed the crisp and refreshing taste of hops to roll along his tongue and wash down to his belly.

He needed this moment of solitude, to be alone and away from Chance and prying eyes of the other clansmen. He’d only barely touched on the subject of Blair earlier that evening, but she was very much a part of his daily thoughts. Especially his nightly ones.

He walked along rocky path until he found a large boulder leaning against one of the walls. Leaning against the nature made recliner Alex closed his eyes and allowed his mind to drift to the image of Blair. Her long flowing hair whipping around her face as he fantasized about being on top of her, under her and all around her.

As the thoughts circled around his mind, weakening his willpower and corrupting his mind a subtle hint of coconut tickled his nose, a distinct and knowing scent, one that he recognized instantly.

His eyes flashed opened and in the silhouette of the bright desert moon he saw the one thing he wanted most. Standing there in nothing but a thin cotton night shirt.

Blair.

“Hi Alex.”

“Blair… what are you doing out here?”

“I couldn’t sleep.”

He heard the distress in her voice. “Something wrong?”

“You could say that.”

“Well come here.” He moved over on the rock, giving her room to sit beside him.

“That beer looks good.” She reached for the bottle and took a swig.

He had to smile. As beautiful as her big brown eyes were, they were deceiving. They gave her a look of childlike innocence, but she was anything but. Strong willed and headstrong was the only way to describe Blair Alexander. Unlike most women who would politely ask for a drink, Blair just took it. It was that fiery tenacity that attracted him to her.

“God that tastes good.”

“I know. Perfect night for one too. So what’s bothering you?”

“It’s my dad. Or more like, what my dad wants me to do.”

“Oh come on, your dad worships you. Whatever it is, it can’t be that bad.”

“Oh no? He wants me to go on a date with Larry Welch.”

Alex’s fist gripped the neck of the bottle tightly. He hadn’t been expecting to hear that. In fact it was probably the last thing that ever would have crossed his mind.

“What?”

“Yeah. He’s worried because he’s getting older and I haven’t settled down yet. Wants me to fall in love and start a family like him and my mother did.”

The thought of her dating Larry was one thing, but having that man touch her, much less start a family with her was another.

Most of their clan were good people. Decent folks who somehow had become a member of the international club known as the undead. The stories behind each of their crossovers varied of course, but one thing that was true for vampires just as it was humans, was that you couldn’t teach an old dog new tricks. And if there was one thing Larry Welch was, it was a dog.

Alex, and Chance both despised Larry. He was an arrogant, self serving son of a bitch on a good day. He constantly tried to hit on other men’s women. He picked fights whenever he had the chance. He was an all around shitty person. Not that their leader, or Blair’s father would know any better. Larry spent most of his time kissing the higher ups asses and the other part just plain being an ass.

“I’m not sure that I see Larry Welch as much of a family type of guy.”

“You think?” she asked sarcastically.

“Well the Blair I know wouldn’t just do whatever she’s told, especially if she didn’t want to.”

He should probably feel some sort of guilt for encouraging her to disobey her father, but he couldn’t help himself. If there was anyone who should be touching her, it ought to be him and not some pervert who creeped everyone else out.

“You don’t think I said no? Believe me, I did. But my dad, he wants me to at least go on one date with him. Just to see if there was anything, or could be anything between us.”

“And? Do you think there can be?”

“Honestly? No.” she turned to him.

The moonlight cast across her face in dark and haunting shadows. So many nights he’d lain awake in his bed, imagining what those features might be like with different expressions. Expressions of longing, passion and desire.

Her high cheek bones narrowed down her face to pouty lips which were begging to be kissed.

He stared at her for a long moment. Maybe too long. Because in the moment that followed he could no longer help himself. He had to do something. Anything.

Cupping her cheek in his free hand he pulled her close and crushed his lips against hers. The electricity shot through his body like a current strong enough to illuminate an entire city.

Her lips her soft.

Her breath hot.

Forgetting about everything else, he allowed the beer bottle to drop to the ground. The sound of cracking glass did nothing to compete with his pulse racing through his veins. He could hear his heart pounding inside his head. Reality seemed to be a mere dream as he wrapped his arms around her and pulled her body against his body.

The thin cotton nightshirt she wore slid up her thighs easily as he reached underneath and allowed his hands to roam her body.

She let out a moan when his thumbs grazed across her nipples. That sound was like a beacon calling out to his already hardened and thickening cock.

Greedily he lowered his hands and tugged at her panties. He told himself he just needed to feel her heat, and know the most delicate part of her. But the instant his finger slipped past her lips and felt her wetness, all bets were off.

“Fuck.” He groaned out the curse, completely mesmerized by what she was doing to him.

“Alex…” she whimpered. “Please.”

Her feminine, but eager hands began hastily unzipping his jeans and reaching for him. He felt like they were both moving in quicksand as he tried to help her, moving as quickly as he could, hungry for her.

Finally he was free, his jeans pushed down just barely around his hips as he pressed his cock at her entrance. The combination of his pre-cum and her wetness mixed together in the most glorious way.

He thrust forward. Pushing himself inside, reaching parts of her he’d only ever dreamt about.

Her body arched into his. Their breaths heavy, their bodies hot and sticky despite the cool desert wind.

Neither of them spoke, each of them pushing against and with one another.

Lifting her shirt, Alex dropped his head down and pulled her round breast into his mouth, sucking on her nipple until it pebbled into a perfect little nub.

He played with it, teased it and gently bit before doing the same thing to the other breast. Only minutes may have passed, but it may have well been time that was standing still.

Nothing else mattered but the way her body hugged his cock. Her pussy sliding along his length, her quiet moans as he pushed her farther. That moment, her body and all that he was seeing was the only thing that held any consequence in the crazy thing that had become his life.

He’d wanted this, her kiss, her taste, to know what the most delicate part of her could feel like.

Nothing else mattered. Not even the audience they didn’t know that they had.

Standing in the shadows watching them stood Chance.
