Erika
Getting ready for work I feel arms wrap around my waist. I lean into him, I never thought I would ever be here in this moment with Devin. As much as he pushed me away to keep me safe I didn't think we would ever get to where we are at now.
“How about you stay here today?” Devin kisses my neck, only if I could just stay here.
“Can't, I have to go in no matter how much I want to stay with you and the others.” I turn around and saw him pouting. I grabbed his face and pull him into a kiss.
“I'll see you after work.”
“Fine.” I laugh as I was walking out of the room.
“See you boys later.” I said. They all waved at me as I was leaving for work. Walking into the building I saw Kenzi walking towards me.
“You look very happy, does that mean you are finally with Devin?” Kenzi asked. No matter how hard I try I couldn't help but to smile.
“Yes, Kenzi we are.” She squealed with excitement.
“Alright I'll talk to you later, stay out of trouble.” She sticks her tongue out at me and I couldn't help but to giggle to myself. Walking into the break room I saw Paul spill coffee, he starts to take off his shirt that is when I saw the Devils symbol on his arm. No fucking way. I bump into something and that made him turn around. His eyes widen in surprise like he didn't expect me being here.
“Erika.” He says my name but I just bolted to the door. I ran all the way to the bar, when I got in I put my hands on my knees.
“Erika what's wrong?” I hear Storm say, but I couldn't say a thing yet I'm still in shock.
“Erika you need to tell me what's going on.” I stood up straight than took a deep breath.
“Where is Felix?” I asked.
“I'm right behind you.” I turn around so damn quick I almost fell.
“Can you please tell me how the fuck is a Devil in Scorpions territory?”
“What are you talking about?” Felix and Storm ask in unison.
“My boss is a Devil. How in the hell has he been under our damn nose and nobody knew about it?” They didn't know what to say they just stood there like they didn't just hear what I just said. Devin grabs my face looked straight into my eyes.
“Are you okay?” He asked.
“Yeah I'm fine.” I sat on a chair and put my hands on my face. The door opens but I didn't pick up my head.
“You have a lot of nerve to come here.” I heard Storm and Devin sayin unison. I looked up and I saw Dalson I got up so fast. The boys were about to get to him, when I jumped in front of them.
“Don't touch him!” I said. They looked at me like I lost my damn mind.
“Erika move out of the damn way.” Storm says with anger.
“No, you will not lay one finger on him.” I turn to Dalson and wrapped my arms around him.
“What are you doing here?” I asked.
“To make sure you were okay, you haven't been answering my messages or emails I got worried.”
“Sorry I forgot my phone, but I haven't got an email from you since last week.” He looked confused.
“I been emailing you for the last two days, I tried not to come here but what happened at work today I had to come.”
“Speaking of work why the hell didn't you tell me my boss is a Devil.” I yelled.
“Erika you were never in danger.”
“What do you mean she wasn't in danger?” Devin yells. Dalson looks at me and shakes his head.
“Seriously you don't recognize him, I know he changed a bit but not much, Erika his name is Paul for god sakes.” I put my head down but Dalson grabs my chin and lifts my head up. The boys took a step towards us and I put my hand out to stop them.
“Your boss is Pauly.” Dalson says and I was shocked and I felt like an idiot how did I not put that together.
“Oh shit.” He nods his head. The door opens and Pauly walks in. I wrapped my arms around him and he puts his arms around my waist.
“What the fuck is going on?” Storm and Devin said in unison.
“Now you remember me, Dalson told you I'm guessing.”
“Pauly I'm so sorry. In my defense you have changed quite a bit.” He laughs.
“You are forgiven.” I pulled Dalson into a group hug.
“I miss you guys.” I said sadly.
“We miss you too.”
“Oh Dalson what was your email about anyways?” I asked.
“It's about Frank, he has been MIA for the last four days. Plan two needs to be handled as soon as possible, he’s up to something I just don't know what it is, just that it has to do with you.”
“I need someone to tell me what the fuck is going on?” I turn to face them, Felix walks up to Dalson with a smile.”
“Hi Dalson.”
“Hi Felix.” They both greet each other with no problem.
“I need you three to tell me what's happening, start from the beginning please.” We nod our heads. We walked to the table.
“So you guys remember what I told you the other day about my kidnapping and all that right?” Dalson looked at me shocked.
“I couldn't hide it from them any longer than I already have.” He nods his head.
“Yes we remember.”
“Well it all started that day, I met Dalson who's nothing like his piece of shit father. Dalson is my cousin and Paul is my best friend. They are the ones who protected me and trained me that why I can kick major ass. They both helped me escape from the Devils. That was plan one, plan two is to get rid of the top guys, and have Dalson to take over and be the president. All the others want is a war and that's what we don't want. If it wasn't for them I wouldn't have survived those seven years there. They are my family so nobody is going to lay a finger on them.” I have never sounded more serious in my life.
“You got it sweet cheeks.” Marco says. I smile up at him. Pauly and Marco looked at each other and I felt a connection from them both, now that's something I approve of but they are both stubborn men, looks like I have a lot of work to do on my hands. I looked at the boys trying to figure out what the hell they are thinking.
“How can we help?” Felix says.
“We have to head back, but we can have a meeting tomorrow if you like.” Dalson says.
“That would be great, we will see you tomorrow.” I got up and hugged them both. When the boys left I sighed in relief, that went better than I thought it would. I sat at the bar waiting for Marco to come back.
“What would you like?” He asked curiously.
“A shot please.” He laughs as he pours my drink in the glass. I take my shot then turn around when I felt someone sit next to me.
“Why didn't you tell me you had a cousin?” I looked at him like he just said something stupid.
“You are really going to ask that, my cousin is part of the Devils for the love of god. Scorpions and Devils don't get along.”
“She has a point Devin.” Storm says.
“You guys would like Dalson and Pauly they are great people. Dalson will be the next running up, when that happens the whole thing with the Scorpions and the Devils don't need to be like this.”
“That sounds really good to be honest.” Felix says with a smile. I nod my head.
“Erika can I ask you something?” Marco asked.
“Of course.”
“How did you not recognize Paul?” I frowned.
“He looks different from the last time I saw him. He got a lot more sexy than he was, more tattoos and built, plus I never called him Paul I always called him Pauly that was my nickname for him since the day I met him.” He nods his head.
“You think he's sexy?” Devin asked. I rolled my eyes.
“Yes, but Pauly is gay stop worrying so much, there’s going to be a lot of good looking guys shit there's a lot in the Scorpions, but I only want you.” He leans in and kisses me.
“I really want you guys to get along with them.” I looked at Storm and he rolls his eyes.
“Fine, if it will make you happy I'll try, they can't be that bad since you like them.” I got up and hugged Storm. Storm has a lot of beef with the Devils so this means a lot that he will try.
“Thank you Storm.”
“You're welcome, are we really getting rid of the top guys in the Devil's?” Storm asked.
“Yes, that's always been our plan, they need to be removed from everything. Once that happens I don't have to worry about Frank or my uncle I will feel safe. When Dalson becomes president he and Pauly can fix the Devils.”
“That's all you needed to say I'm in.” Storm and Marco says. I looked at Devin he hasn't really said a thing.
“I'm in, but I don't want you involved in it.” He says in a worried tone
“I know, I already had to talk with Dalson and Pauly. I'm going to help from the side lines.”
“Good.”
“Marco does that job still stand?” I asked. He laughs.
“Of course it does, I just been waiting.” I got behind the bar and start making drinks.
Six Years ago
Sitting on my bed I wait for Dalson to walk in, tonight is the day I leave this hell hole. Dalson rushes into my room then closes the door.
“Remember you have ten minutes to get as far as you can away from the compound, don’t stop until you are back on Scorpion territory got it.”
“Yes I know, stay on the move don’t stop until I’m safe.” Dalson nods his head.
“Good the apartment won’t be ready until two days from now so you need to find a place to stay. There's money in your bag, you are all set to go.” I wrapped my arms around my cousin and he hugs me back.
“Thank you for everything Dalson, you don’t know how much this means to me. Tell Pauly thanks and give him a big hug for me.”
“You’re welcome and I will.” He looked at his watch and I know it’s time for me to go.
“It’s time.” Dalson said with a sad tone. I gave him a big hug than run out the door then down the hall. Going down the stairs I look at my watch, I need to move faster. Seeing the back door I sighed with relief. Opening the door I look both ways before I start running through the yard. When eleven minutes past my phone went off. I grabbed my phone and kept on running.
Dalson- Keep on running they just started the search.
Erika- I’m almost in scorpion territory.
Dalson- Good keep on going.
Putting my phone in my pocket I just pass through The Scorpions territory. I stop for a minute to catch my breath, I’m not safe yet I have to keep on going. I start sprinting to the Scorpion Bar, I see it in my sights. I stopped running and catch my breath. Before I open the door I took a deep breath than walked in. I walked to my spot at the bar and sat across from Marco.
“It’s been awhile since I seen you where have you been?” Marco asked.
“Very busy It’s good to see.” I tell him.
“It’s good to see you to Erika.”
“I have a big favor to ask you.”
“What do you need Erika?”
“A place to stay for just two days.” Marco gives me a bottle of soda.
“You can stay with me for as long as you like.”
“Thank you.” I tell him with a smile.
“No problem.” I feel someone sit next to me, I turn my head and it was a good looking guy smiling at me, I smile back I don’t want to be rude.
“How are you doing gorgeous?” The man asks.
“I’m good how about you?” I ask nicely.
“Good now.” He puts his hand on my lower back and the only thing you see is his face going straight to the bar table and his arm behind his back and off me.
“What the fuck man?” The man said.
“Storm that’s not necessary.” I tell him.
“Yes the fuck it is. Don’t ever put your hands on her again.” Storm can be very overprotective when he has to and it’s sometimes very annoying. He lets go of the guy and he leaves. That’s when Devin comes to the bar, this is going to be fun.
“What are you doing here Collins?” He asked with I’m not sure what tone he’s using it’s different.
“Donovan, I’m not in the mood for this it’s been a long day and I wanted some company to make me feel better.”
“I like your company too, Erika.” Marco says with a smile.
“I got this Devin don’t worry.” Marco says. Devin nods his head then walked away.
Present Day
I owe these boys a lot, If it wasn’t for Dalson and Pauly I wouldn’t have made it out of the Devil’s at all. My other boys always have my back no matter what and I love them all for that.
