Luisa
I wake up to warmth on my back, arms wrapped around me. Hawke’s whiskers tickle my neck, his warm breath caressing my skin, his light snore telling me he’s still asleep. I’ve missed this, him holding me this way.
I’m soon startled by a loud knock on the bedroom door. “Hawke, you in there, man?”
I stare at the time: 8:20 a.m. Not exactly a sleep in.
Again, a loud bang.
Hawke finally stirs, and wakes up fully when the door is flung open.
“What the fuck, Blaze?”
Blaze looks at Hawke, then to me. “Uh, sorry, Luisa. I didn’t know you were here.”
“Get the fuck out!” Hawke yells rubbing at his eyes.
“Get your ass to church, hermano. Meeting started fifteen minutes ago. Prez sent me in to get you.”
“But we’re flying out to Tennessee this morning. The man’s getting married, and he wants to call church?”
“Hermano, I don’t make the rules. If Prez wants a meeting then who am I to disagree. Now get your culo out there.”
“Blaze, how many times I gotta tell you, I don’t understand Spanish?” Hawke growls, and I laugh.
“Brother, get your ass out there. Is that better?” Blaze says sarcastically.
Hawke immediately jumps out of bed, placing his jeans on. “Oh fuck! I didn’t need to see that,” Blaze says as he closes the door quickly.
Hawke smirks and continues to dress, pulling a T-shirt on over his head, slipping his cut on, and running his hands through his hair. “Sorry, baby. I have to go.” He leans in and kisses me and I grasp his face in my hands, forcing his lips to stay on mine longer.
Hawke moans and pushes me down on my back, laying his body on top of me. I widen my thighs, allowing him to settle in between my legs, and his hands slide down to my breasts, cupping them and teasing my nipples. I cry out with pleasure and tilt my head back on the pillow. Hawke kisses my neck and pulls the sheet down lower, allowing his mouth better access.
I wrap my legs around his waist when he latches on to my nipple, biting down and then licking the sting. His mouth slides over to my other nipple, taking my areola into his mouth. My hands travel under his T-shirt, sliding up his back. I’m loving the way he’s panting. “I gotta go,” he says against my lips, and I groan.
“Now?”
“Sorry, baby, but duty calls,” he states, winking at me. He pulls back and unhooks my legs from around his waist, before getting up from the bed and placing his boots on. Leaving me lying on the bed, throbbing with need, he heads to the bedroom door and shuts it behind him without a second glance.
My phone rings, loud in the sudden silence of the room, and I get out of the bed and grab my bag from the chair. Searching for my phone, I see it’s Jazz and smile.
“Why hello, bride-to-be.”
“Luisa, please tell me Quill is there.”
I sit back down on the bed, my heart climbing up into my throat. “Yes, he is. Why, what’s wrong? Is it the baby?” Please don’t let anything be wrong with the baby!
“No, nothing like that, hon. I’m just worried is all. He got a call early this morning from Tracker, and jumped out of bed and left once Rhyder showed up. He told me it was club business… but Lu, what if he’s getting cold feet?”
I sigh, my breathing returning to normal. “Now you’re just being crazy, Jazz. Quill loves you. He wants to marry you. He’s probably just got stuff happening at the club, and needs to make sure everything’s fine before he leaves.”
“I guess you’re right, it’s probably just the hormones.”
I giggle. “Jazz, he’s going to marry you, don’t doubt that.”
“Thanks, Lu. Make sure you and Hawke are on that plane,” she warns.
“I wouldn’t miss it for the world.”
“Thanks, Lu, you’re the best friend ever.”
“Don’t you know it. Now go take a bath, relax, and I’ll see you soon.”
“That sounds exactly like what I need.”
“Good, now see you at the airport.”
“Okay, bye, Lu.”
“Bye, Jazz.”
The phone disconnects and I throw it down on the bed. Opening Hawke’s drawers, I find clean underwear and a bra I brought over last time I was here, and enter the bathroom to take a shower. Once I’m done I grab a towel and dry myself. I hear someone in the room and quickly wrap myself in the towel. I hesitantly open the bathroom door, not sure if it’s Hawke in the bedroom, and sigh with relief when I see him pacing the floor. I tighten the hold on the towel and exit the room, but Hawke doesn’t notice me, too busy spitting profanities.
Walking up to him, I place my hand on his shoulder. “Hawke, what’s going on?”
He stills and tries to focus on me. “Fuck, Lu. I almost forgot you were here.” Feeling hurt, I wrap my arms around my waist and look down at the floor. Hawke holds me in his arms, and I rest my head on his chest. “Sorry, babe, I didn’t mean that,” he says, kissing the top of my head.
I lift my eyes to his. “Tell me, Hawke, what’s going on? Jasmine called and said Quill left the house early to come to the club.” I cup his cheek in my hand and run my thumb over his scratchy jaw. “Are you in danger?”
Hawke turns his face into my palm, softly kissing me there. He forces a smile onto his face, traveling his arms down my back to rest on my ass. “Nothing for you to worry about, sweetheart, just club business.”
“Hawke! When are you going to trust me enough to share your club with me?”
He cups my face. “It’s better this way. The less you know, the safer you are, and the better I can protect you.”
“Hawke, you’re scaring me,” I reply looking him dead in the eye.
Running his thumb over my bottom lip, he leans in and places a soft kiss on them before pulling back and holding my face up to his. “You never have to worry about your safety with me. I won’t let anything happen to you. You got me?”
I bite the inside of my cheek. “I got you.”
“Now go and get changed, we have a flight to catch. My best friend is getting married.”
I smile up at him, and head back into the bathroom to do just that.
