Taming Hawke: Book #3 in the Blood Brothers MC Series by J.A. Collard (20)

Hawke

I’m so pissed when Blaze barges into my bedroom, and I stare daggers at him when his eyes switch from mine to Luisa’s as she quickly covers up her chest with the fallen sheet. I’m trying to work out what the fuck is going on, I’m shit tired, and not liking one bit Blaze running his eyes over my woman. I know he means nothing by it, but she’s practically naked.

I grab my phone from the side table; four missed calls from Quill. It was gonna be hard to leave Lu, she was such a fucking sight, her hair in a sexy mess, lips swollen from all our kissing last night, cheeks flushed with sleep. I felt like saying “fuck church,” and fucking her again, needing to taste her on my tongue one more time. I cup her face and kiss her deeply, and just when I think of pulling away before Prez kicks my ass for being late, she decides she’s not letting me go.

We reached another level in our relationship last night. I now knew she was ready for me to take her in every way, but I also knew she needed more time. Time to adjust to having my cock inside her ass. As much as I wanted to fuck her there, I wanted to ease her into it. But the way she took pleasure from having the butt plug inside her, only reassured me that when I do take her from behind, she is going to love it.

I know I need to get the fuck out of here, get my ass to church before Quill kicks it, but she’s so fucking tempting. I can’t ever get enough of her. Duty calls, though.

Smiles and whistles surround the room when I enter church. Quill stops midsentence, taking in my disheveled appearance. His eyebrow raises when he notices me doing up my zipper, and I smile wolfishly in return.

“Hawke, brother, so glad you can join us.”

I run my hands through my hair, trying to look a little presentable, and take my seat as his VP.

All eyes are on me. “What the fuck? You ain’t never seen a brother late to church?”

Blaze laughs out loud. “From what I saw, I don’t blame you for being late, hermano,” he teases. I roll my eyes at him, the fucker is never gonna learn.

“Shut the fuck up!” Quill orders. “We’ve got shit going on and you guys wanna talk about pussy?”

I sit up in my chair and rub at my jaw.

“Now, if you men have finished, I’d like to continue. Today we leave for Tennessee.”

Whistles surround the room, and some brothers even howl.

Quill can’t help but grin, then straightens and continues. “Yes, I’m getting fucking married.”

Fists are slammed against the table, hoots and whistles yelled out once again.

“So fucking happy for you, Prez!” Trigger yells. “Jasmine is something special.”

There was a time Quill suspected Trigger wanted Jasmine, and didn’t want him anywhere near her. When shit went down with Jess and we had to ride out of town to take care of business, Trigger was put in charge of watching over Jasmine. They’d formed a friendship, and Quill didn’t like how close they had become. Jasmine swore her feelings for Trigger were innocent, and if anything, she saw him like a brother. Trigger would say the same, but I’d seen the way he looked at her. Any man would be fucking blind if he didn’t notice how he doted on her.

Trigger won’t admit he has feelings for her, but I know. She only has to be in the same room and his eyes are on her, but he also knows he will lose his life if he ever tried to pull anything. I would do it with my own hands if I even knew he thought about it. I’ve pulled him aside and asked him about his feelings for her, but he swears black and blue there’s nothing more than friendship between them. So for now I’ll let it slide.

Trigger looks over to me, and I give him a chin lift. He does the same in return, and we’re brought back when Quill slams the gavel on the table.

“Brothers, my flight leaves in the next couple of hours, so before my woman shoots me, I need to get this out. Prospects are staying behind to watch over the clubhouse. I’ve got Tracker’s brother, Tate, and his club, The Sinners, out here. After what happened at Ink Me, I don’t want to take any chances.”

“Any leads yet, Prez?” Gunner questions.

Quill sits back in his chair, running a hand angrily through his hair. “Tracker got surveillance from the shop the other night, the camera didn’t show who they were. We got an image of the brick being thrown inside, but no fucking eyes on the motherfuckers who threw it in.”

“What about the cameras out front, they get pictures of the car?”

“Tracker, you wanna take over?”

Tracker takes a sip of his coffee. “Sure, Prez. The cameras got eyes on a black SUV, number plates are not clear, but I’ve got a friend working on clearing that up. Once we have a plate, we can run them through the database. But it will take a couple of days.”

Quill takes over at this point. “I want no word to the women about what’s going on. You hear me? Until I know who this fucker is, there’s no need to worry them.” Quill looks around the room. We all agree, but something inside me doesn’t like the situation one bit.

Whoever was fucking with us obviously wanted to make sure we knew we were being watched, and it worried the hell out of me knowing we’ll be out of town. The only good thing was that most of us would be in Tennessee, our women too.

“Now, before I get my balls chopped off by my woman, church is out.” He slams the gavel down on the table. Everyone gets up and out of their seats, and walks out.

I stay behind, as does Blaze. Once they all leave the room, I ask him, “How’s Tess doing?”

“She’s good, man, I’ve got someone watching when she’s working, just to make sure she’s safe. I’m glad we’ve got this wedding this weekend, gives her something to think about other than the shop.”

Blaze and I notice Quill sitting there, staring out into space. “Yo! Prez, you good? Where you at?”

He sighs and rubs his hand across his chest. “I’m getting fucking married.”

“What, you just realize that?” I smirk and tap Quill on the shoulder. “Having second thoughts?”

“Are you fucking nuts? Never…. I’m just worried I can’t be the man, and father of our baby, that she deserves. She’s fucking incredible, I just don’t want to fuck things up. I’m so lucky she chose me. What if I make a terrible dad and husband?” Quill says in all honesty, doubt crossing his face.

I squeeze Quill’s shoulder. “Are you fucking kidding me? You’re the best man I know. She’s fucking lucky to have you as a husband and father to your child. Don’t doubt yourself, man. You make her happy, and she said yes. We both know Jasmine only does what she wants to. She loves you, man. Now get the fuck out of here and go get her. Our plane leaves in a couple of hours.”

Quill mouth lifts into a smile. “Thanks, brother. You’re right.”

He gets up out of his chair, looking at both Blaze and me. “I’m getting fucking married.” We both smile and watch him leave the room.

Blaze and I get out of our seats, and walk out of church.

“See you in Tennessee, brother,” Blaze says tapping me on my back. I’m flying out with Luisa on the same flight as Quill and Jasmine, and the others are riding down. Trigger and Gunner are driving down with our bikes on the back, so we have them with us in Tennessee if we want to ride. I have to say I’m fucking shit-scared of flying. Only did it once, and it was the scariest fucking thing ever. I just hope it’s an easy flight. I can’t show Luisa I’m scared, can’t be a pussy in front of her.

Heading back to my room, I open the door and see Luisa isn’t in the room. I hear the shower shut off, and while I’m waiting for her to dry off and change, I start to think about what’s going down with our club. Just when everything settles down, more shit happens. If only we knew who the warning was coming from. The not knowing is killing me.

I’m startled out of my deep thoughts when a hand lands on my shoulder. I turn, Luisa is standing there in just a towel. “Hawke, what’s going on?”

“Fuck, Lu. I almost forgot you were here,” I say, then wish I could take those words back when I see hurt in her eyes. I was so caught up trying to work things out, I’d zoned out, everything around me disappearing as I ran possibilities and scenarios through my head. I grab her in my arms, and she rests her head on my chest. Whenever she’s in my arms, everything feels so right. “Sorry, babe, I didn’t mean that,” I explain, and kiss the top of her head. She looks up at me, and I swear I could get lost in those eyes.

“Tell me, Hawke, what’s going on? Jasmine called and said Quill left the house early to come to the club.”

Fuck, she knows something’s up. I hate lying to her, but I have to protect her.

She cups my cheek and runs her thumb across my jaw. “Are you in danger?”

Fuck, I love this woman. I turn my face in her palm and place a kiss there. I smile and bring her in closer, cupping her ass.

“Nothing for you to worry about, sweetheart, just club business,” I state, trying to put her mind at ease.

“Hawke! When are you going to trust me enough to share your club with me?”

I cup her beautiful face. “It’s better this way. The less you know, the safer you are, and the better I can protect you.”

“Hawke, you’re scaring me.”

I run my thumb over her well-kissed bottom lip, leaning down for another soft taste. I pull back and hold her gaze with mine. “You never have to worry about your safety with me. I won’t let anything happen to you. You got me?”

She smiles up at me. “I got you.” Could she be any more perfect? “Now, go and get changed, we have a flight to catch. My best friend is getting married,” I add trying to lighten the mood.
