Chapter Ten
I fell to the couch beside Drew, exhausted. We’d canceled Drew’s appointment earlier today. Neither of us was up to trying to dodge the fans that now knew where Drew was staying. The police had come and helped break up the media since they were not only trespassing on my property but causing a “general disturbance” to the community. Now there was security posted at my door to help keep other unwanted people away, such as the nosey neighbors who just wanted to “drop by to bring a casserole for dinner.” Right. Because none of us could see through their excuse to try to catch a glimpse of my famous house guest. So much for anonymity.
Drew reached a hand over to play with one my curls that had fallen loose from my ponytail. “Do you know, I was determined to find you when we finished our tour. I’ll always be so damned sorry about what happened in the accident. I can’t believe people died, and I know I’m lucky one of them wasn’t me.” His voice choked, but he grabbed my hands and regained his composure. “But I can’t regret that it helped us find our way back together sooner. But make no mistake, Emma Harrington, I was coming back for you.”
I launched myself into his arms, barely managing to remember his injured leg. He caught me and settled me carefully on his lap. His lips found mine. He held my chin between a thumb and forefinger while his other arm slid around my waist, pulling me closer. His thumb tugged on my lip, requesting and immediately gaining entrance for his tongue. I threaded my fingers through his hair, inhaling his clean, masculine scent.
His hands slid down my back to clasp my ass. “I want you,” he whispered as he nuzzled my neck.
I sat up and began to unbutton my shirt, enjoying how his eyes blazed as I let it slide off my shoulders and dropped it on the floor. “You’re so beautiful,” he murmured. He reached behind his head and pulled his t-shirt off. His abs were a delicious sight, and I wanted to explore them closer.
I stood and held out my hand, silently leading him back to my bedroom. I nudged him to lie down, not wanting him distracted by his leg. I laid beside him, running my fingertips over his warm skin until they hit the top of his jeans. I leaned over him, trailing a path of kisses down his toned muscles while I unzipped his pants and tugged them off. His erection greeted me, as if greedy for my mouth to continue. So I did. Drew hissed and dug his fingers into my shoulders. “Baby,” he called. “I want more this time.”
I glanced up. “How?” I couldn’t ride him without jostling his leg, and he wasn’t able to take me missionary style.

He stood carefully. He leaned over and pressed a kiss to my stomach, then slid my pants to the floor, taking my panties along with them. I reached behind and unhooked my bra. He slid the straps down my arms, letting the lacy material fall to the floor when my breasts were free. He cupped them, simultaneously pinching both of my nipples. He leaned forward and replaced one of his hands with his mouth. I gasped, clutching his head to hold him there. His free hand slid between my legs.

As my breathing slowed, he laid beside me. I had tests run a couple of months ago, and they ran them again while I was in the hospital.”
I trusted him. Drew would never do anything to put me in harm’s way, and I wanted the same thing. “Nothing between us.”
He slid further up the bed, rolling to his side so his good leg rested on the bed. “Come here.” I laid next to him, and he turned my body until I was facing him, his erection nudging at my entrance. His lips found mine as he lifted my leg with his hand, pulling it toward him. Spread open for him, he entered me slowly. “Okay?” he asked.
“More than,” I panted.
His arm wrapped around my leg holding it off his leg as he began a steady rhythm of sliding in and out of me. Maybe it was the angle, maybe it was because he felt so damn good and full inside of me, but the tension inside of me quickly grew once again. “Drew!” I cried.

I bent my head and kissed his arm that was wrapped securely around me, feeling content and cozy and loved. For the first time in months, everything felt right again.
