Chapter Seven

I woke wrapped up against a warm male chest, and a slow smile spread across my face for the first time in ages. I was happy! The smell of sex was in the air but our bodies smelled of jasmine after the bath we’d shared before falling asleep. I wouldn’t change the night we’d shared for anything. He made love to me as though I was the woman he loved. That’s what I wanted. I wanted him to love me. Cherish me like no one ever had.

No matter what was said last night, our age difference still bothered me. I’d always be fourteen years older than he was. I might look younger now, but that wouldn’t last. Nothing ever did. My heart was involved with him. I wouldn’t be with him if it weren’t.

“There’s an ache, but it isn’t too bad. I’m used to it…Come up here.”

Rising up, I bit my lip at the sensation of him leaving my body, and closed my eyes in pleasure when he slid completely free. “That felt good.”

“Mmm.”

“I’m no longer going to worry about age. I mean it’s only fourteen years, right? It’s not like it’s fifteen. And deep inside I know my sons will be fine with us being together. I’m ready to just enjoy being with you, and to see where this leads.”

Jesse cupped the back of my head and brought me a mere breath away from his lips. “I know where this thing between us is going to go providing you cooperate.” He smiled and kissed my lips. “You’re mine, baby.”

“Hmm. I like the sound of that.” I tried to wiggle against him but he was having none of it.

“Later.” He pulled me off of him so that I was cuddled into his side. “I need to get ready for work soon, but I think we’ll eat breakfast together first.” He placed a slow kiss to my waiting lips. “Meet me for lunch?”

“Hmm, I’d like that.”
