Agony: Kings of Rebellion MC #4 by K.T Fisher (19)

Chapter Nineteen

Drew

Before I even open my eyes and fully wake up, I’m cringing so hard because my head is fucking killing me. Fuck me! How much did I have to drink last night? I clutch at my head, trying to stop the spinning but nothing is working. Memories come flooding back. From what Suzy told me to fucking Cyrus putting me to bed. Last night was insane. It’s a good job I’m not at work today because I feel awful and no doubt that I look as bad as I’m feeling.

There’s a knock at the door, and because I locked it in the middle of the night when I visited the little girl’s room, I have to get out of bed to answer it.

“Who is it?” I sleepily ask out loud, causing my head to wince from the sound.

“Me.” Cyrus answers from the other side of the door. “You ok in there?”

“I’m fine.” I scrub at my eyes.

“I got you a drink.” He adds and suddenly my mouth feels so dry. I eagerly stand, opening the door and snatching the cool bottle of water he’s holding. Making fast work at opening the bottle, I guzzle it down and sigh loudly when I’ve had enough. “I got you these too.”

Cyrus holds out a box of paracetamol and I thankfully take them. Walking over to the bed, I place the bottle on the night stand and open up the box, needing to get rid of my sensitive head. “Thanks.”

“It’s alright.” Cyrus grins cheekily.

I eye him suspiciously. “Why are you smiling like that?”

“I have a surprise.” He goes out to the hall and leans down, picking something up from the floor and when I see a cup of steaming hot tea my eyes widen.

“Oh my god I need that!” I swallow down the tablets with the water as Cyrus places the mug on the nightstand next to my water.

“I’m glad to please you.” Cyrus leans on the doorway, crossing his arms and winking.

I look away from his intense eyes and smooth down my hair. “I look like shit.”

“No you don’t.” Cyrus shakes his head laughing. “Believe me, I’ve seen some awful sights the morning after, and you are nothing like them.”

“I don’t know how to take that.” I think out loud. “Is that a compliment?”

Cyrus shrugs. “It’s the truth.”

Feeling slightly awkward, I reach over to the cup of tea and take a grateful sip. It’s still hot but it tastes amazing on my tongue. I moan appreciatively. My eyes close and I actually forget that Cyrus is here for a second until I hear him clear his throat and my eyes snap open. I catch sight of him readjusting himself and I think he’s actually blushing. Cyrus Redgrave is fucking blushing.

“You surprise me.” I say as soon as his eyes connect with mine.

“Why?” Cyrus steps forward. “Shocked that I’ve been looking after you?”

At that I laugh. “First of all, I can take care of myself.” I point out and Cyrus nods. “But I was referring to the tea.” I lift my cup. “It’s pretty decent.”

Cyrus takes a seat on the bed and it starts to feel real intimate. Both of us alone, sitting on a bed after he took care of me last night. I’m fresh from sleep and feeling a little fragile.

“So where were you last night?” Cyrus begins to quiz me. “You were real fucking drunk.”

I continue to drink my tea, eyeing him over my cup and thinking whether I should tell him or not. It doesn’t take long for me to decide against the idea, because I’ve had a few thoughts floating around in my head. Cyrus continues to watch me and in my hungover state, I can’t help but appreciate how great looking Cyrus is. He’s come a long way from the cute little boy I once knew.

Cyrus begins to scowl, obviously not happy that I’m sitting here staring at him instead of answering his questions. “You going to answer me Dee or are you just gonna sit there looking pretty?”

“You’re funny.” I laugh. “Because I look like a hot mess.”

“If you looked like a hot mess,” Cyrus leans forward. “Why would I wanna kiss you so badly right now?” My eyes widen and my cheeks burn. I can’t believe he’s just said that. “So, are you gonna tell me?”

“You really like getting answers, don’t you?” I laugh. “Must be an effect from your club duties.”

I’m poking a bear, I know it and Cyrus doesn’t look too pleased. His hazel eyes glare into mine and I just know he’s not going to drop it until he gets what he wants. Sighing, I decide to give him some of the truth. “I just met with some girlfriends.” I shrug. “We had a few drinks and danced.”

“A few drinks?” He quizzes and I smirk.

“Ok, more than a few but you have your answer now.”

Cyrus continues to watch me. “Which friends did you meet up with?” He asks.

This time, it’s me that is doing the glaring. “Look Cyrus, I know you’re keeping an eye out because of all the danger surrounding the club, but that doesn’t give you the right to know everything about me. I met with people that you don’t know and I was perfectly safe.” He doesn’t need to know that I was at an illegal underground fight night. For my own safety, I leave that part out. “Besides, where I go for fun is none of your business.”

Cyrus quirks an eyebrow. “Maybe it should be.”

I laugh, although it’s quite a nervous one. “You won’t be here for much longer, so there’s no point in getting close.” I look into his eyes and have to quickly look at my hands, fiddling with my nail polish because he’s looking at me way too intensely. “As soon as you find the fuckers who killed Sketch, I’m sure you’ll be on your way to the next.”

Cyrus nods, it’s a well-known gesture of respect within the MC life and it was aimed toward my mention of Sketch. I like that he just did that.

“I will fucking find them Dee, don’t you worry about that. I’ll make them suffer for taking your man away from you.” I look back up to Cyrus and I’m not ashamed that my vision is a little blurry from my watery eyes. “But I’m enjoying being back here. Maybe I’ll stick around for a while. Who knows?” Cyrus then flashes me a cheeky smile. “Now get your lazy ass up because you’re coming with me to get some breakfast.”

“I didn’t think the Old Ladies were here this morning.” I frown.

“They’re not, so I’m taking you out.” Cyrus answers.

This time it’s me who flashes a cheeky smile. “As long as you’re buying.”

“Of course.” He winks, leaving the room so I can get myself ready. I keep a few items of clothing here at the clubhouse, just in case we have a lockdown situation or for times such as this.

Before I get out of bed though, I check my phone and see that Maci has text me. It’s quite a long one, but she lets me know that Cyrus spoke to her and assured Maci that he would keep an eye on me so that she could go home. She also says that she’s not leaving the apartment today so the fact that I have no keys isn’t a problem. I quickly send her a reply to let her know I’m fine and that as soon as I’m done with breakfast I’ll be back home.

Not wanting to stay in last night’s clothes any longer, I get up and look at what items of clothing I have stored here. I don’t exactly have a huge variety but I settle on some basic, black leggings with a long grey shirt and replace my heels with a comfy pair of black Vans. Making a mental note to add some other clothing to my emergency stock pile, I tie up my hair in a messy ponytail and put on some basic make up. Deciding that I look good enough for breakfast with Cyrus, considering that I’m pretty hung over, I go to leave my father’s room, however I’m shocked when I open the door and see Cyrus stood there. He’s not alone though as I see a bunny leaning on him, begging for his attention. She’s giggling and clinging onto whatever Cyrus is saying.

“Can’t leave you alone for five minutes, can I?” I question as I pass them both, not bothering to hide the rolling of my eyes.

Cyrus jogs to catch up with me, not bothering to say goodbye to his little pet. “Not jealous are you?”

“Fat chance of that happening.” I laugh right back as we enter the large TV room. There are club members all around, watching as I walk by with Cyrus. “We’re being watched.” I joke as we pass.

Cyrus then throws an arm around my shoulders and brings me close. “Don’t worry Dee, I’m used to over protective brothers watching out for their club princess.”

At that, I push him away and Cyrus just laughs. I point right in his face. “I’m not a Princess.”

Cyrus just continues to laugh as we walk side by side towards the exit of the building. “You’re the daughter of the club president. Whether you like the name or not, you’re the club princess.”

I send him a glare as we step outside into the fresh air and walk towards a blacked out car. I’m no stranger to cars, especially a Volkswagen. Let’s just say they have a special place in my heart however the Golf’s are a favourite of mine. So when we approach a mean looking, black VW Golf R, I get very fucking happy. The windows are tinted the darkest that they can and so has the badge.

“This is sexy.” I beam, circling the car and Cyrus just stands back and smiles as he watches me.

“Glad you like it.” Cyrus’s smirk widens as he gets out the keys. “Now get in.”

I’m not going to lie, watching Cyrus get into the driver’s seat of this beast makes him look dangerously sexy to me. To make it even better, the car makes loud popping sounds as Cyrus revs the engine. If this won’t put me in a good mood, I don’t know what will. We laugh together as he speeds on the roads, appealing to my inner adrenaline junkie and when we arrive at the little café he has chosen for us to have our breakfast at, my mood has lifted a great deal. Cyrus looks over at me before he opens his door and makes me laugh by wiggling his eyebrows. When he acts like this I find it so hard to believe he’s as dangerous as everyone says he is.

We walk into the café and I don’t miss the way the waitress eyes Cyrus as she guides us to a table, but fair play to Cyrus because he seems to not even notice her and she’s a really good looking girl. Cyrus orders a full English breakfast and points over to me. “I know you’re having the same.”

“Of course.” I grin and the over friendly waitress leaves us to it.

“So who did you steal the car from?” I ask.

“Who says I stole it?” Cyrus frowns. “I have enough money to buy what I want.”

My eyebrows raise. “I didn’t realise nomads get paid that much.”

“It’s not a bad life.” But it turns out my mum came from a wealthy family and when she passed away Zane and I inherited money I didn’t even realise she had hidden from us.”

I slowly nod, liking the fact that Cyrus never seems to lie to me and tell me a bunch of shit. He’s straight to the point.

“Listen,” Cyrus interrupts my thoughts. “I’ve joined the clubs boxing fight nights. So I think you should come and watch me on my debut.”

“You any good?” I ask him, already knowing the answer.

Cyrus pouts his bottom lip, mocking me. “You really need to ask?”

Of course I know he’s going to be a good fighter. He has to be really, but I’m in a good mood and I feel like teasing him. “I don’t know, maybe you’re just all talk.”

The waitress then returns, delivering our breakfast and my mouth starts to water. Cyrus thanks her, not bothering to look up at her, but I do and she isn’t very happy. She sulks as she walks away but Cyrus hasn’t even noticed.

“Dee,” Cyrus begins when it’s just the two of us. “You’re coming to my fight night and I’m going to personally show you how hard I can throw a punch.”

“We’ll see.” I pick up my knife and fork and begin eating my breakfast. Cyrus watches me as I cut up my sausage and place a piece into my mouth.

“Then it’s set. You’re coming with me to my fight and I’ll show you how hard I can be Drew. That’s my promise to you.” Cyrus declares before tucking into his own breakfast. I feel as though he’s promising me more than his fight, but I put that to the back of my mind and enjoy his company.

“Alright.” I nod, “But my boys aren’t going to be an easy fight.”

At that Cyrus stops eating. “Your boys?”

“All the boys at the club are my boys.” I point my knife at him. “You Cyrus Redgrave are a nomad.”

“Oh I see.” He nods his head, a slight smirk in place. “Then let’s make this interesting.”

“How?” I ask.

“When I win my fight, I will become one of your boys and I’ll get to take you out somewhere.” Cyrus winks as I think it over.

“Not a date.” I demand and when Cyrus agrees, so do I. “Ok, but if you lose you have to do what I say for 24 hours.”

Cyrus laughs. “It’s a deal, but believe me babe, you ain’t seen anyone fight like me.”

I don’t say anything in return but decide to finish my breakfast instead. Cyrus grins confidently for a couple of seconds before he joins me and I can’t help but know Cyrus is going to win his fight so now I’m wondering where he’s planning on taking me. At least I made it clear that it can’t be a date.
