Chapter Twenty Four

Drew

First thing the next morning, I get ready and make my way to the clubhouse in a taxi. I’m still feeling rough from the night before and besides, my dad would kill me if he found out I was driving the morning after a night out.

I thank the taxi driver and enter the clubhouse gates. Thanking the men who are on guard as I pass them. They keep quiet which is a smart idea. They can probably sense how angry I am. Luckily for them, it’s all aimed towards my little brother and if I know Baby as well as I do then I know exactly where he is this morning.

“Drew?” Asks Grinder from the front of the clubhouse, looking shocked to see me.

“Morning Grinder.” I smile sweetly. “You want to see some entertainment?”

I walk right into the clubhouse as if I own the place, but I’m comfortable here. I’ve been raised around this clubhouse. As far as I’m concerned, this place is a second home and yes it might seem crazy but as much as I don’t like the phrase, I’m technically a club princess. So I can come and go as I please.

I can sense Grinder and a few more behind me but I don’t pay them any attention. I spy Cyrus and Zane in the corner of my vision, but I’m focused on Baby and I know he’ll be in his room. Fingers crossed he would have finished entertaining and I won’t be scarred for life. I charge towards the men’s club rooms and as I pass Scrappy’s, his door happens to open.

“Erm, Drew?” He asks, scratching his head. “Where you going?”

“To see my shit head brother!” I shout right back.

“Oh fuck.” Scrappy mumbles as he follows and I can’t help but smirk.

My eyes are focused on the door to Baby’s room and I take in a deep breath to prepare. This is for my friend, that little fucker. My fist clenches and I use it to pound it on the door.

“Baby!” I shout, banging on the door. “You better get your dirty ass out of bed before I come in there!”

“I wouldn’t, if I was you.” Scrappy pokes my shoulder and I turn to glare at him. He smartly backs away with his hands held high in surrender.

There’s no answer, so I bang on the door again. “This is your last warning Baby!”

I hear shuffling noises from the other side of the door, but still no answer. I’ve given him two warnings now. There will be no more! I prepare myself for any image I’m about to see, remembering that I’m doing this for Maci and turn the handle, quickly pushing the door open and I immediately cringe. The smell of sex hitting me in the face and it takes me a few seconds to gather myself. I see my stupid brother lying in bed with wide eyes as he sees me glaring back at him just as a half-naked girl scrambles to get dressed beside him.

“Is this the whore you arranged to meet up with then?” I ask, gesturing to the girl.

“Excuse me!” She stands tall, boobs hanging out and everything as she frowns. “I’m no whore.”

I have to laugh. “Oh I’m sorry.” I giggle with my hand over my heart. “I must have gotten the wrong impression, you know, because you’re standing there with not a care in the world that we can all see your tits,” I point to the crowd behind me. “And the fact that sleeping with whores is my brother’s favourite hobby. Has he told you that he will call you later?” I ask her and Baby avoids looking at her as she looks to Baby. “Or maybe he’s looking for an Old Lady? I’ve heard him use that one a few times!” I burst out laughing and now the girl looks to me with understanding. My brother has fed her with so many charming lies. “Do yourself a favour and fuck off.” I advise her and she pulls her top on, grabbing her handbag and shoes as she storms past me.

“At least that’s one less job for me to do.” Giggles Baby from his bed and I see red.

“Don’t you fucking dare!” I scream, pointing at him as I step inside his room further. “I’ve had enough of you.”

“What the fuck is the matter with you?” He frowns, eyes flicking to whoever is watching behind me.

“You really need to ask?” I growl. “Are you that fucking stupid? Oh wait, yes you are because you offered Maci a fucking threesome last night with that whore!” I point to the doorway where the very slut has left just moments ago.

Baby buries his face in his hands. “Oh shit.”

“Don’t try that crap.” I shake my head. “You knew what you were saying and I’m fucking sick of you treating Maci like this!”

“Can’t we do this privately Dee?” Baby begs but I just laugh.

“Oh no.” I look behind me at the men watching, even some of the bunnies have joined and Scrappy is still standing right behind me looking awkward as fuck. I see Cyrus and Zane but I try not to focus on that as I turn back to my dickhead brother, I stand closer so he can hear every word. “You’re so dumb and I feel so fucking sorry for Maci that she has feelings for you!” Tears arrive in my eyes but I ignore them and Baby jut watches me with a look of regret. “You treat her like shit. Why? Why would you do that? You could have proven everyone wrong and only have eyes for Maci, make her real happy, but instead you ignore your own feelings and hurt her in the process. You make her watch you sleep with an endless list of sluts and parade them in front of her. Last night, in the bar when I saw you dancing I thought you had finally had some sense, but instead you were killing time until one of your whores asked to meet and what do you do? You fuck it up as usual and ask if Maci wanted to meet her with you! What the fuck?”

“Alright!” Baby yells, silencing me. “I fucking get it Drew! You wanted to teach me a lesson and humiliate me? Yeah, well job fucking done. Anyone else have something to add? You might as well throw it in while you have the chance. Do all of you think the same as my sister?”

I feel hands on my shoulder, calming when I hear Cyrus’ voice. “I think you should leave him to it darling.”

“No.” I shake my head, looking at Baby as he sits in his bed, looking angry as hell. “I don’t think he’s actually sorry.”

Baby then glares at me. “Shut the fuck up Drew!”

“Oi!” Shouts Cyrus, making me jump. He steps in front of me, pointing down at Baby. “I know you’re pissed, but don’t talk to her like that.”

Baby glares at Cyrus as the two of them stare at one another. I turn to everyone who is watching and tell them to fuck off, only Scrappy stays behind and I allow him, stepping around Cyrus I decide to talk a little quieter this time. “Look, I want you to understand that you’re hurting her and I’m sick of watching it. You care about Maci. It’s obvious, so I don’t get why you push her away all the time. Either own it and make her yours and fucking leave the whores, or tell her you’re not interested so she can forget all about you and move on.”

Baby’s glare softens and he looks down at his hands. “Maybe I already know she’s too good and instead of hurting her, I’m trying to let her go.”

Sadly laughing, I take another step closer to Baby. “You’re already hurting her.”

Giving him one last smile, I turn to leave his room and as I pass Scrappy, my little brother adds, “Will you tell her I’m sorry?”

I stop in the doorway and look over my shoulder. “That’s a job for you.”

Baby nods, and I leave him with Scrappy as Cyrus follows me out.

“You ok?” Cyrus asks once we’re alone.

I sigh, frustratingly running my fingers through my hair. “Yeah, I went a little softer than I wanted.”

“Really?” Cyrus’ eyebrows rise in shock and I giggle.

“I just want my friend and my brother to be happy.” Right then my phone alerts a text message and as soon as I see it’s from Suzy, I freeze. I read her text, becoming excited and determined all at once as I find out that the next fight is tonight in a different location. I have work tomorrow, but this is my chance at revenge, so I send her a quick reply to let her know I’ll be there.

“Bad news?” Hearing Cyrus makes me jump. Shit, I forgot her was standing so close. I hope he didn’t see Suzy’s message because that would be the end of my planning. I have to do this and I can’t let anyone stop me.

“Just one of the girls checking in and asking about Maci.” I lie, hiding my phone away in my jean pocket.

“Really?” He asks, an eyebrows risen in disbelief. “Because you look pissed.”

“No, this is just my regular resting bitch face.” I smirk and Cyrus just laughs at me.

He can’t find out where I’m planning on sneaking out to tonight. Cyrus would tell me not to go and do everything to stop me, him and everyone else. I have to get my revenge and I won’t let anyone stop me, but aside from killing those bastards, I actually enjoyed the last time I was there. Nobody looked at me as if I was a fragile, broken doll but someone else who is there to enjoy themselves and have fun. This time will be a little different though because I’m walking in there knowing there’s a potential threat from the men who took the man I love from me. I would love to dig a knife into their throats and watch their filthy blood pool to the floor.

“So,” Cyrus interrupts my thoughts of a beautiful murder. “I was thinking if you wanted to go and grab something to eat later?”

Oh shit! My heart starts to beat so fast that I think it’s about to burst out of my chest. If I didn’t already have plans of glorious revenge, then I would accept Cyrus’ offer.

“Not as a fucking date or anything.” Cyrus quickly adds when I don’t answer. “As friends, ya know.”

“Erm.” I stutter.

“Fuck.” Cyrus groans. “I know Sketch is still in the picture and you won’t forget him, but I wanna see whatever the fuck this is between us. I sound like some fucking pussy but, you’re always in my head darling and I gotta know that it’s not just me.”

“It’s not just you.” I admit to the both of us. “And I would love to, but not tonight.”

I see his jaw clenching and I feel like shit for letting him down. He put himself on the spot, for me and I just shut him down. Any other time I would have said yes, but my revenge for Sketch’s death comes first. I wouldn’t ever be able to forgive myself if I let this chance go.

“Another time, definitely.” I add because I do really mean it.

“You don’t have to let me down gently darling.” He sadly smirks.

“No, I’m not.” I step closer to him, looking deep into his stormy eyes so he can see that I’m telling the truth. “I’m just busy tonight.”

Cyrus then frowns. “Ok.”

“I just have other plans that I can’t get out of.” I feel so awful and I wish I could tell him what I was doing. However, if I was to die tonight getting my revenge, then it’s probably best that he doesn’t get too close to me. “I’ll see you later.”

And I quickly walk away. Every step I take makes me feel even more like shit than I did before but I keep on going and I don’t look back.

Cyrus

I watch her walk away, my eyes not being able to help themselves travelling down to her perfectly rounded behind. Something doesn’t feel right and it’s not because she let me down with my offer tonight. No, she’s hiding something and I only feel like this because I like to think of myself as a professional in reading people. I know the tricks that people use to try and hide the truth and Drew used two of those. Fidgeting and rambling. The first is self-explanatory but the rambling is only used on a few and Drew was definitely rambling, she wouldn’t stop trying to explain why she couldn’t come without telling me the actual reason. She’s hiding something and she doesn’t want anyone knowing. It’s why she ran off so quickly. Probably sensing that I’m onto her.

If she were mine I would stop her and demand for her to tell me where she’s sneaking off to, but she’s not so I have a choice of two options. Either I follow and spy on her or I tell her dad and let him deal with it. I think about how I would word it to him and realise that I would sound like a fucking dick. Telling my Prez that I think Drew’s sneaking somewhere because she wouldn’t come to dinner with me. Fuck it. It looks like I’m going undercover tonight.

I follow Drew as she walks into the clubhouse bar, her dad spots her straight away and they disappear together. He’s probably heard about Baby’s telling off.

“That shit was crazy.” Laughs Zane as he walks over to me. “Are you sure you wanna go there brother? Drew seems like a feisty little club princess.”

“Shut the fuck up.” I scowl in return to his shit eating grin.

“I have good news.” He practically jumps up and down. “Prez wants us to take over questioning the fucker we brought back from Sweet Cheeks.”

A smile creeps on my face. “That is good news.”

I need to get some frustration out too and as long as I’m finished to spy on Drew, it works perfectly. Both of us make our way to the warehouse, which is a little away from the clubhouse but it’s not close enough to walk to, so we get on our bikes and drive the short distance. Just five minutes later we arrive and nod towards the men who are standing guard. I can imagine it’s a ball making sure there’s men here to guard people we’re holding inside, but the way these fuckers like to torment their captives, it’s a no brainer to have them away from the others back at the clubhouse. I wouldn’t want old ladies and the families overhearing the screams I’ve heard coming from this place. It’s close, but not too close.

Zane opens the door and the smell of sweat and blood hits me. It doesn’t affect me at all because I’m too used to this shit. I’ve been itching to get my hands on this guy since we brought him in, but Prez wanted to personally question him first, but now it’s mine and my brothers turn and I break out in goose bumps, excited to get my hands dirty. This is exactly why I warned Drew away from me, I’m a dangerous man and I’m not fucking saying that to be vein or some other shit. I actually am and sometimes I even scare myself. That’s how fucked up I can be, but I’m not ashamed at all. I am who I am.

We find the man, tied and bloodied up, looking like a fucking mess and it makes me smile. He looks up at Zane and me as we stand beside Grim. I fake a wince but then I can’t help it and start to laugh.

“Boys.” Grim nods. “I managed to get some information from him.”

“Give us the goods.” Zane wiggles his eyebrows, getting as excited as I am at the thought of getting involved in the questioning.

“He’s not a Devil Spawn, which was our first theory.” Grim tells us. “The fucker is actually a Devil Chaser.”

“Shit.” I sigh.

“Fuck!” Zane screams, making the man jump as he was losing consciousness.

It’s well known that the Devil Chasers are connected to the Devil Spawn MC. We’re not sure how, but it’s a fact and after everything that went down with the Devil Spawn last time, whatever scum was left over ran to the Devil Chaser’s. There, they got the protection that they were seeking and the hatred for the Kings of Rebellion MC grew within the Devil Chaser’s. Honestly, it’s fucking stupid and the Chaser’s have no claim to the original hatred that our club shared with the Devil Spawn but I will not see any more of my men hurt by these fuckers.

“Get some more information out of him.” Grim orders. “We need to know where his friends are hiding and end all of this shit.”

Once the VP leaves us to it, Zane turns to me looking thrilled. “So, how we gonna do this?”

I spy a hose pipe in the corner and order Zane to turn it on as I grab the end, making my way over to our new little buddy. I point it in his face and as soon as Zane gets it working, it sprays all over the fuckers face and he soon wakes, coughing and choking. I signal for Zane to turn it off and when the water stops, I kneel down so I’m face to face with the dirty Devil’s Chaser.

“Hello.” I grin. “I’m Cyrus Redgrave and this is my brother, Zane.” I point over to my brother and he waves like a dick, but our little friend’s eyes widen. “Oh, you’ve heard of us?”

He continues to look from Zane to me and I’m glad our reputation has reached him. It always helps when they’re already a little afraid but it can also speed things up, which isn’t always a good thing.

“Now I’m going to ask you some questions.” I continue and he tears his eyes from Zane towards me. “And you better give me the answers I need.”

Zane then laughs. “Fucking hell mate, my brother is wearing his serious face so for your sake, I think you better do as he says.”

“So we know you’re a filthy Devil Chaser, but I want to know where the rest of your pathetic club is hiding.” He doesn’t answer, just squirms in his fucking seat. “We went to visit your old clubhouse and I gotta say, it was a bit of a shit hole.” Zane laughs again. “So your new place can’t be much better.” I pick up a knife that’s on a nearby table and gently slide it up his bloodied arm, the man starts to breathe quicker and his chest puffs in and out at a speedy rate. “Now tell me, where the fuck you’ve all been hiding.”

As predicted, he keeps his mouth shut and I look over to Zane, signalling for him to turn the hose back on and I hold it to his head height. The water spurts out at a powerful speed and the Devil Chaser screams and chokes as it hits his face. When I tell Zane to stop, it takes a while for the fucker to breathe properly again, but I wait patiently, walking to a table and admiring all the tools left over for me.

“I did try and warn you.” I put down the knife, deciding on a saw instead and watch the man’s eyes widen as I weigh it in my hands.

“Ungrateful bastard.” Zane spits. “We won’t go easy on you now mother fucker.”

“No more water.” I announce, looking over to Zane. “It’s time to get our hands dirty.”

Zane claps his hands enthusiastically. I drop the saw and walk over to the Devil Chaser, looking him right in the eye before punching him, making Zane laugh.

“You fucking knocked him out!” He slaps me on the back.

Zane sprays him awake with the water this time, then rips off his boots. “Dude!” He shouts. “You have ugly ass feet.”

I pick up the knife again and ask the same question that I did before. “Now, you have one more chance to give me an answer before I put this blade to good use.”

He doesn’t and it makes me happy because it means things are going to get interesting. Zane holds him down so it makes this a little easier. I hold the knife over the Chaser’s little toe, looking up at him to see if he’s going to spill the information we need. When I see he’s not, I let the blade slice into his skin, hitting bone and revelling in his screams as I disconnect his smallest toe from his foot.

“You going to answer now?” Zane asks him and the man shakes his head. Shaking my head, I go to the next toe and repeat until he only has his big toe left. My ears hurt from the volume of his screams. “Carry on like this and you won’t have any toes left.” Zane laughs in his ear.

“We can move onto other things to chop off.” I shrug. The Devil Chaser knows exactly what I’m hinting at and begins to thrash around, causing Zane to cackle as he holds him down.

“Let’s move onto the final toe.” Zane advises, looking far too happy. “The biggest is always the most painful.”

As my blade touches his skin, the man finally begins to talk. His voice quiet, but we hear what we need to. “The Spawns came to us, begging for help. They told us about the hate between your clubs.”

I glare up at him, digging the knife a little more into his flesh and his voice spills onto it. “I need a little more.” I order.

“We killed your member!” He stutters. “The one in the tattoo shop.”

Hearing this, I growl loudly and bring the blade down. I feel it tearing through tissue and bone as he screams so loud it’s a good job the warehouse is kept a safe distance from the clubhouse. I throw the knife across the floor and stand my position, walking away from the dirty fucker. Zane joins me, placing his hand on my shoulder and checking me over. His eyes are wide as he speaks low. “Collect yourself brother.”

I breathe deeply, shaking away my need to kill the shit right now as I quietly talk to Zane. “I’m just pissed for Dee.”

“You need to keep a clear head.” Zane advises.

Grim then chooses that moment to walk in, looking the scene over as he approaches. “Everything ok here?”

“Great.” Zane smirks, just as Doc walks in and checks the half dead Chaser in the corner. As much as we’re torturing the son of a bitch, we need to keep him alive as long as we can so we can get the information we need.

“He confirmed that the Devil Chasers were the ones to kill Sketch.” I inform Grim and his face mirrors my own.

“Let’s call it a night.” Grim nods and we all leave, locking the fucker up in the warehouse and leaving him in the capable hands of the guards.

We stand around our bikes and talk for a little while. Grim and Doc want the details and Zane happily informs them.

“Right.” Grim announces. “I’d better get going, Lauren is going to meet some Old Lady’s for some girl’s dinner or some shit and I need to watch Connor.”

“Oh, so that’s where Drew is going tonight.” I shake my head, climbing onto my bike.

“No.” Grim frowns.

Silence envelopes us. Grim is a tough and dangerous man. As dangerous as I am.

“You and Drew have been spending a lot of time together.” Grim adds.

“I have.” I nod, not wanting to bullshit my VP.

Grim eventually nods. “Take it easy with her.”

I nod again, completely understanding the warning. Grim and Doc ride away together, and once we’re alone Zane begins to quiz me.

“So what’s going on bro? I’ve never seen you like this with anyone. You’re usually a love em and leave em type of fucker.” He smiles. “It runs in the family.”

“I honestly don’t fucking know, but something is there and I won’t let her go until I’ve at least tried to see what it is.” I answer him truthfully. “The thought of just being with one woman used to make me feel sick, but now I only see Drew.”

Zane’s eyes widen. “Damn Cyrus, you sound like you’re fucking pussy whipped.”

I slap him on the back. “Shut the fuck up.”

“Shall we go back to the clubhouse, see if Drew’s hanging about? I wanna try a bit of match making.” Zane starts to thrust the air and I shake my head, not believing that this fucker is related to me.

“No, I have places to be.” I need to hurry up and get started on my mission to spy on Drew. Something is up and I don’t like it.

“You’re going to see Drew.” Zane points at me.

“Not exactly.” I laugh and Zane frowns, trying to work me out so I let him know everything.

“Yeah, that don’t sound right but I trust your judgement. If you think somethings up, let’s go and check it out.” I’m grateful that my brother is willing to join me and it makes me feel as though I’m not going crazy. At least I won’t be alone whilst I’m spying.

***

We don’t have to wait long outside Drew’s apartment before a taxi pulls up and Drew walks out. She looks hot as hell and I would love nothing more than to run out to her and have a better look, but my brother and I stay hidden in the shadows.

“Maybe she’s going for dinner?” Zane shrugs.

I shake my head, pulling my helmet back on and following the taxi at a safe distance. Zane always by my side during the thirty minute drive. We stay hidden from Drew’s view, careful to not break our cover and the whole time I’m going crazy thinking where the fuck she can be going. Drew’s taxi begins to slow down and I’m confused because we’re not near anything around here, but Zane and I stop, hidden in the trees. We get off our bikes and pull them along, staying as quiet as possible as Drew walks up the path and turns left. As we reach the corner, peaking around to make sure Drew can’t see us and right then I panic.

“Fuck.” I curse because I can recognise an underground fighting scene anywhere.

“What is she doing here?” Zane asks as we tuck our bikes away safely into the bushes. In my experience, nobody has dared to mess or take our bikes, so I feel confident leaving them here.

“I fucking knew she was up to no good.” I scowl as I watch her walking through the entrance. I can’t believe she’s here.

“Come on brother.” Zane leads the way and we prepare ourselves. We know this scene all too well and we’ve both heard of the The Black Ring, one of the most dangerous underground fighting rings. Everyone who has ever dabbled in illegal fighting has and I’m trying to understand why Drew is here and most importantly she’s come alone! Why the fuck would she do that?

I’m so fucking angry with her. Drew didn’t strike me as being stupid, but this a dumb move. We approach the gate where two big, rounded men are standing guard.

“Names.” One of them asks and Zane laughs in return.

“We don’t need our names on the list.” Zane snickers.

“Cyrus and Zane Redgrave.” I answer and both men’s eyes widen, looking at our club badges on our leather vests and registering who we are. They both move out of our way and we walk inside. People glance over curiously but we need to make sure that we’re under everyone’s radar, so we try and stick to the shadow as we follow Drew around the abandoned warehouse. Zane and I try our best to keep her in our eyesight and we don’t like how close she’s getting to some dodgy looking men. She dances,  drinks and generally keeps safe, spending a lot of her time with a short, busty red head. I hate how men seem to gravitate towards Drew, her edgy tattooed look is somehow drawing them in and I don’t fucking like it. Unfortunately for me, my brother notices and laughs every time some guy gets a little too close to her.

“Pussy whipped.” Zane whispers and I push him away from me.

“Does it seem like she’s looking for someone?” I ask Zane and he observes Drew a little more. She walks around, eyeing every man who comes close and the later it gets, she seems to get angrier.

“Now that you’ve mentioned it,” Zack answers, following Drew with his eyes. “I think she is.”

Thankfully, Drew doesn’t seem to stay too long and is wanting to leave. She’s walked around the place roughly ten times and each time she looks even more pissed. Her friend waits with her until Drew’s taxi arrives and once she’s tucked away safely, Zane and I find our bikes and follow her home. My brother and I make sure she’s going straight home before we then go to the clubhouse. I need to tell Prez exactly where his daughter has just been.

When we arrive at the clubhouse, it’s pretty empty but we head straight to the office to hopefully find Prez. Luck is on our side because when Zane knocks, Prez orders us to come straight in and he’s sat behind his desk frowning at something on the laptop in front of him.

“Prez.” I greet and he closes his laptop and smiles up at us.

“Good job today boys on the prisoner.” He smiles.

“No problem boss.” Zane salutes.

“So, what did you need me for?” Prez asks.

Zane and I exchange a look before I step forward. “I thought something was weird with Drew earlier,” I begin and Prez frowns. “So following my instincts, I spied on her and it turns out Drew went to The Black Ring, alone.”

Prez lets his face fall into his hands and Zane and I wait to hear what he has to say.

“She has an old friend connected.” Prez nods. “But I didn’t think she would be so foolish.”

“Drew’s at home now, we made sure she was before we came here. She didn’t stay there too long. It actually looked like she was looking for someone.” I add.

“My daughter has been through a lot, so because she’s home safe I will let it go this once.” He growls. “I won’t let her know that either you or I know, but boys, please keep an eye on her. If you think she’s going there again, you stop her and find me.”

“Prez.” Zane and I nod.

We leave his office and Zane tries to piss me off straight away. “Drew’s not going to be happy with you.”

“Shut the fuck up.” I slap him around the back of his head. “She’s not my woman, so I tell her dad, especially when he’s the President.”

“At least you have an excuse to follow her now.” Zane laughs loudly and I decide to ignore him. My brother has always been a cheeky fucker.

I just wish I knew why Drew was there and why she seemed to be searching for someone.
