Troy
April, 2014
I opened the door to my house, happy that I was there after a long day at work. As a manager at one of the premier car washes in the city, there’s always a bit of pressure to be the best, which I don’t have a problem doing, but damn these past few days have been hell, which made me wondered if this position even worth it. I just received the position a week ago after the previous manager, Edward, was found smoking weed on the premises. Of course the owner, Enrique, would never know that I was the one who provided the weed to him. I knew that was his weakness, and I wanted the manager position for awhile, so I figured I could slowly ease him out. Now, I see why he smoked.
I leaned against the door and took a deep breath, wondering when Stacy was going to come in. I’d met her at the bar near my house, and with the day I had, I needed a bit of excitement. She slowly walked in, giving me a sexy smile as she walked in front of me. I stared down at her hips as she did a little twist, making my manhood rise.
She turned around and batted her lashes. “I knew that would get you to look.”
“You don’t have to do much, baby. I was watching you since we were at Miller’s.”
“I know. So, why did you invite me back here?”
I smiled. “You know why.”
“If you think we’re going to screw, then you thought wrong.”
I closed the door and went to her. I laid my hand on her waist and she slowly stared at me. “You were thinking the same thing as me. You wouldn’t have come if you didn’t.”
“Maybe I didn’t want to go home.”
“You could had gone somewhere else.”
“Where? Deena’s? That’s kind of hard to do since this is her house.”
I smirked as she walked over to the window. I don’t know why she was talking about her best friend at this moment. I guess she would since Deena is also my wife. Stacy and Deena have been friends since they were college; she was even Deena’s maid of honor when we got married five years ago. I had a thing for Stacy ever since I first laid eyes on her, but of course since she was my future wife’s best friend, I couldn’t go there.
Until tonight.
I admit, I’m wrong for what I’m about to do, but I couldn’t help myself. I love women. I always have and always will. I have tried changing my ways for Deena, and I have succeeded for a little while, but just the slightest hint of temptation crosses my path and I’m back to where I started again. Maybe things will change after being with Stacy. Once I’m able to get her out of my system, then I will change my ways. I will become a one-woman man.
I stepped behind her and wrapped my arms around her. She gave a long-winded sigh as I breathed into her hair. God, she smelled good.
“Listen, Troy, maybe this wasn’t a good idea. Deena is my best friend, so I can’t do this to her.”
I gave a disappointed pout as Stacey looked at me for a long second trying to read my thoughts. “To be honest, I want nothing more than to be with you, but I don’t mess with married men, especially my best friend’s husband.”
I nodded. “I can respect that.”
Stacey nodded and gave me a kiss on the cheek. When I pulled her closer to me, she attempted to walk away. Even though I wasn’t going to sleep with her, I still wanted to feel her lips were against mine.
I put my hand behind her neck as my lips touched hers. A slight moan escaped her mouth as my tongue caressed hers. Stacey was getting into the kiss as her hands were massaging my back. I couldn’t control my urges as I led her to the couch. I sat down as she straddled me. I pulled up her dress while looking into her brown eyes. She looked into mines as her breathing became erratic. I pushed some hair from her cheek as she continued to stare at me.
“You know what you’re doing, Troy.”
“What am I doing?”
She shook her head. “You know.”
Just I was about to kiss her again, we both jumped from the loud slam of the front door. I looked up, seeing Deena glaring draggers at both of us.
“Oh my God!” Stacy screamed. She almost fell backwards when I quickly held her. Deena ran over to us and slapped Stacy across her cheek, causing her to lean on her side. I held her as Deena stared at me.
“You bastard! You straight lied to my face, saying you were going to change. But what are you doing? Cheating on me with my best friend! Of all the women you came across, you decided to be with her?! Really, Troy!”
“It’s not what you think, Deena. We weren’t even doing anything.” I admitted.
Deena gave a creepy laugh, which had me a bit disturbed. I know I have done Deena wrong countless times, that’s why this shouldn’t come as a surprise; but I was telling the truth this time.
“You expect me to believe that? After everything that you have put me through? So not only am I stupid, but blind too?”
“He’s telling the truth, Deena.” Stacy said.
Deena got in her face when I separated the two. The rage in her eyes only made me pull back a little from her.
“Shut up! In fact, the both of you can go straight to hell.”
I glanced at Deena as she picked up her bag. She shook her head at me.
“I should beat your ass for what you have done to me, but I’m not going to waste my time or energy on you. I have put up with a lot from you. I thought we could work things out, but I know now that it’s not meant to be. On our wedding day, I took our vows seriously, but you thought of it as a damn joke. You continued to whore around, thinking you were single, when you weren’t. I’m surprised I stayed this long with you.”
I sighed as Deena shook her head again. She walked toward the door then she suddenly stopped to turn around to stare at me.
“After all the bullshit you have fed me recently, I knew you haven’t changed, so I’ve already filed for a divorce. Don’t even try to stop me on it, because I’m tired of your ass.”
I nodded, knowing I wouldn’t contest it. “Okay,”
She gave a wicked smile before speaking. “Oh, and I’ve been fucking Ramon for two years.”
I glanced at her with a sense of shock. Did I just hear her correctly? That’s my best friend!
“Wait, what?”
“Oh, so it’s okay for you to do whatever you want, but I can’t? Why do you think I kept this charade going for so long? The difference between you and me is that I have a conscience; that’s why I want a divorce. That, and because you’re a terrible husband.”
I was still in shock as Deena rolled her eyes at me and opened the door. Once the door slammed, I was back to reality, but I was still surprised at what I just heard.
I’d completely forgotten Stacy was still there until she kept saying my name. Without even looking in her direction, I went to my room and closed the door. I slowly sat down on the bed, still wondering what the hell just happened. Although I have no right to be upset about what Deena just said, her revelation hit me like a ton of bricks. I didn’t know what to expect, and I damn sure didn’t expect that from her.
I lay down on the bed, wondering how I got myself into this situation. But honestly, I knew this wasn’t going to work. Maybe it was just a way for me to finally be free to do whatever I wanted.
