Resisting Temptation (Into You Book 2) by Sheena Binkley (19)

Troy

Last night with Reece was different from my regular nights with a woman. It was just the two of us getting to know each other. I haven’t experienced that since I was a teenager. There was no sex of any kind involved, which was pretty surprising for me. Instead, we fell asleep next to each other. I actually liked it.

As soon as the sun was up, Reece decided to go back to Vanessa and Mark’s. Hopefully they don’t think anything went down between us; I’m sure I’ll receive a call from one of them if they did. After she left, I got myself ready for work. I could still smell Reece’s scent on me as I took a shower. The smell of honey and peaches had me a bit aroused. Shit, now I’m horny. I was horny when she was here, but just thinking how close she was to me had me feeling all sorts of shit that I normally haven’t felt in a long time. That’s why I fucked multiple women, because I didn’t want to feel this way. I hate to feel this way.

After I showered, I grabbed my clothes and stared at myself in the mirror. I was going to shave, but figured I could grow out a beard. I was still staring at myself when my phone started vibrating. I glanced at it, seeing it was a text from Reece. She asked when was I coming to work, I looked at the time on my phone. I didn’t realize it was 8:15.

“Shit!”

I threw on my uniform and hi-tailed it to work. During the drive, all I could think about was seeing Reece, so I was thinking maybe it was time to actually ask her out. That would probably be a surprise to her, but I do want for us to get to know each other better. Last night was a breakthrough for us, so I was curious to know more about Reece Palmer. A lot more.

As I pulled up to the parking lot, the store was already opened when I hopped out of my car. I saw Jamarcus shaking his head as I came up to his lane.

“What?”

“You were the one telling us not to be late, yet you were the one who showed up late.”

“I overslept.”

“I’m sure Reece was apart of that reason; especially since you two left the club early .”

I looked at him as Jamarcus clicked his tongue. “So, what happened?”

“Nothing happened. We just talked at my place and fell asleep.”

“Seriously?”

I nodded. “Seriously,”

“Yeah, you really like her.”

I sighed as I went inside. Reece was at the register. She looked at me and smiled. Once she was done with her customer, I motioned for her to come inside the office. She shook her head, but I nodded, letting her know I needed to talk to her.

“Go, I got the register.” Nena said and rolled her eyes. I gave her a crazed look, wondering what her problem was before  I went to the office. I opened the door to see Reece standing near the window.

“Why did you want to see me?”

“Because I needed to do this,” I said as I gently grabbed her waist. I shouldn’t be kissing her, but I couldn’t help myself. After last night, I don’t think I could go a second without wanting to touch her lips.

We stood near the window, kissing each other like it was our last time. Luckily the window was tinted, so no one could see what we were doing. Once we pulled apart, Reece stared at me.

“We shouldn’t be doing this. I shouldn’t be doing this with you.”

“Why not?”

“I guess it’s a little awkward since we’re at work. There’s no telling how many women you’ve had up in here.” She said as she walked over to the desk.

“Is that what you’re thinking about right now? Because I’m definitely not.” I said as I came to her.

“Of course you’re not. Listen, Troy, I really enjoyed last night and that kiss was wow. The kiss we just shared was even better, but I have a job to do. I promised Vanessa that I’ll keep you in line, but I’m doing the same shit that I’m supposed to be avoiding.”

“Reece, I know this is complicated, but I really like you. Last night, we both saw a different side to each other that I want to continue exploring; that’s why I wanted to see if you wanted to go out tonight.”

Reece stared at me, speechless to my proposal. “Really?”

I smiled. “What’s wrong with that?”

“There’s nothing wrong; I just didn’t think you went out on dates.”

“I don’t, but maybe things are different this time with you.”

Reece was still speechless when she slowly nodded. “Sure. You have any places in mind that you’re taking us?”

I smiled. “Like I’d tell you. You have to find out later tonight.”

“I can’t wait,”

I smiled while Reece took a deep breath. She was about to go to the door, but I didn’t let her. I grabbed her hand and turned her back around to look at me.

“I already know this is going to be dangerous between us,” I said.

“Dangerous how?” she asked while battling her lashes.

I pulled her to me as I stared into her eyes. “Just being this close to you, staring into your eyes, I can’t help but to feel some type of way with you.”

Reece stood there looking at me. She tried to speak, but couldn’t.

“I’m already feeling something for you, something that I haven’t felt for a woman in a long time.”

“Troy…”

“I hope you don’t think I’m trying to run game on you, because I’m not.”

I leaned to into her, giving her a kiss on the cheek then I pulled away from her. She continued to stand by the door as I opened the door to the hallway. I slowly closed it, leaning my back against it as I took a deep breath. I couldn’t believe I just said that, but honestly, Reece is making me feel something different about the way I’m approaching her. Jamarcus is right, I really do like her.

Shit!
