Gray's Playroom (The Everett Bros Book 3): An M/M BDSM Romance Novel by CANDICE BLAKE (25)

Epilogue 1

River

Three Months Later

I was walking to the Opera House wearing the custom suit Gray had gotten for me. It was the day of Blue’s wedding, and I was feeling nervous, even though I wasn’t the one who was getting married. The suit fitted me perfectly, and I felt confident as I walked down the street to the grand venue in the heart of the city. They had rented out the Opera House for the evening. I didn’t think anyone could do that. But I guess Hunter had the connections to make it happen. I walked in through the front doors and looked up at the grand lobby that had contemporary wood detailing and beautiful light fixtures. I couldn’t believe how many people were there just for Blue and Hunter’s wedding. Everyone was wearing the most gorgeous gowns and suits, walking around with glasses of wine and champagne.

I looked around to see if I could find Gray or any of the Everetts. I knew Gray was really busy that day to help Blue prepare for the wedding. I went to the bar and got a glass of champagne and went upstairs to look around more. There were even more people upstairs. I wasn’t a very outgoing person, I’d always enjoyed being alone at home, so I sat on a bench and watched other people while I sipped on the champagne.

In the corner of my eye, I saw Harry, who was holding Pollock in his arms. I got up and went over to him.

“Hey, you’re here,” Harry said with a smile.

“Yeah, have you seen Gray?” I asked.

Harry nodded. “He’s with Blue. I can take you to where they are.”

I followed Harry to the back of the Opera House, and he led me somewhere that looked like a dressing room.

I saw Blue pacing back and forth while twiddling his thumbs.

When Blue noticed me walk in, he smiled.

“Look who’s here,” Blue said.

He came over and gave me a hug.

“You look amazing,” I said.

Blue was wearing a beautiful tuxedo and a bow tie that matched the color of his eyes.

“Really? You think so? I’m nervous as fuck,” he said.

I handed him my champagne, and he drank the rest of it.

“You’ll be fine,” I said. “There are so many people here already, and everyone’s having a great time out there.”

Blue smiled. “Thanks, Riv. You look incredible too.”

Gray walked in moments later. He was with Carter.

It was the first time I saw him that evening, and the suit he was wearing looked even better than it did when we were in the dressing room of the Louis Vuitton. The suit showed off his broad shoulders and strong arms. When Gray saw me, he stopped walking and just stared right at me.

“What?” I said.

His strong gaze was making me self-conscious.

“You look stunning,” he said.

“Are you kidding me? Have you looked in the mirror?” I said.

He came up to me and wrapped me in his arms. I could smell a hint of cologne that complimented his natural scent, and his hair was slicked back.

Blue smiled. “You both look amazing. Now can you tell me how good I look?”

Gray turned to Blue and smiled. “You look like a million bucks tonight, Blue.”

Blue couldn’t help but smile after hearing his older brother say that.

Gray turned his attention back to me. “Let me pin this flower on you,” Gray said.

He was holding on to a paper bag, and he opened it and carefully pinned the white rose on my suit jacket. He had the same rose on his jacket.

Harry and Gray were Blue’s groomsmen, and Pollock was the ring bearer accompanied by Carter.

“Where’s Hunter,” I asked.

“I haven’t seen him all day,” Blue said. “We’ve only been messaging. What if he’s not here yet? What if he leaves me at the altar?

“Just because you’re getting married in an opera house doesn’t mean you have to be so dramatic,” Gray said and smiled. “I saw him just now, and he’s just as nervous as you are, so you can stop worrying.”

Blue sat on the couch and took a deep breath, looking at his phone.

“It’s happening any time now. They’re going to call us to the stage.” Blue said.

“We know,” Harry said with a smile. “We’re waiting for everyone to be ushered into the auditorium.”

“I should probably go too then,” I said. “Good luck, Blue.”

Gray gave me a kiss, and I savored the taste of his lips before leaving the room. I went into the auditorium and was ushered to my seat in the front row. There was a large wall of white flowers on the stage. I’d never been to a wedding like this. Blue’s and Hunter’s wedding was unconventional and felt so special. I looked around and saw all the smiling faces as they waited for the wedding to start.

The lights dimmed, and we were in complete darkness. The stage light turned on, and the orchestra below us started playing music.

Harry walked out from the side of the stage, and two other guys, who I assumed were Hunter’s groomsmen, walked on stage as well.

Then everyone turned their heads to the back of the auditorium. They were watching Hunter, who walked solo down the aisle, smiling modestly as a bright spotlight followed him to the stage.

Everyone stood up when Blue walked in after. Gray had taken on the role of walking Blue down the aisle. I was nervous for Blue, but I was also excited at how handsome Gray looked.

Blue looked ahead and saw Hunter up on stage, and they smiled at each other. I never thought that I wanted to get married until that day when I saw how happy Blue looked. I wanted to have that with Gray.

There was a brief pause before Carter walked in with Pollock.

Everyone smiled and awed at Pollock in the cutest little tuxedo. He was just learning to walk, and Carter was helping him walk down the aisle. I could see the smile on Carter’s face and Harry anxiously looking on from the stage.

The orchestra finished playing the first song. Blue and Hunter stood in front of each other, holding each other’s hands. Gray stood proudly next to Blue.

The marriage officiant had long, black hair, tied in a ponytail, and was wearing a beautiful red dress. Nothing about Blue and Hunter’s wedding was ordinary, and it was like I was watching a performance on stage. I couldn’t stop looking at Gray, who looked comfortable on stage in front of hundreds of people. He had his hand clasped together and looked calm and at ease.

The officiant started by giving a small speech. Then Blue and Hunter said their vows to each other. Carter took the rings that were hanging on the necklace Pollock was wearing and handed them to the two grooms. Blue and Hunter exchanged rings and kissed. The crowd cheered and clapped at the newlywed couple.

The orchestra played another song as everyone left the stage to their seats. Gray sat down next to me and kissed me.

“Did I do okay?” he asked.

I smiled. “You did amazing. Blue and Hunter looked so happy up there.”

“I’m glad.” Gray laughed. “Blue was trying so hard to hide his nerves.”

Blue and Hunter talked to some people before sitting down next to Gray and me . People cleared the decorations on the stage, and we waited for the opera performance to start.

We were about to get a private screening of the opera, Hadrian, about two men who fall in love. It was the perfect performance for a gay wedding.

After the performance, we were escorted to the top floor, where the reception was held. Gray held my hand proudly as he introduced me to some of his family.

“So, am I still your fake boyfriend?” I asked quietly.

“I’d like to call you my real boyfriend now,” Gray said. “Is that all right with you?”

I smiled. “It’s more than all right.”

It took Hunter and Blue a long time to get seated. Everyone wanted to talk to the newlyweds. Harry, Carter, and Pollock sat down at our table too.

We were served a seven-course meal that was catered by Giorgio.

“How do you even know all these people?” I asked Blue.

He shrugged. “I think I only invited fifty people. The rest are people who Hunter know. I think they’re mostly business partners.”

Hunter went to each table and talked to the guests.

We were on the highest floor of the Opera House, and we got a pretty nice view of the city.

“You see yourself getting married?” Gray asked.

“I didn’t until today,” I said. “I always thought weddings were boring. But everything about this one is so whimsical and fun.”

Gray smiled. “I’m a bit envious that Hunter was able to plan all this. It makes me want to throw an even bigger wedding now.”

“Does that mean you want to get married?” I said, feeling giddy with excitement.

“When the time is right, I’ll throw a wedding that’s better than this for you,” Gray said. “I’d want to plan it well and have it be perfect. You don’t deserve anything less than that.”

I thought about marrying Gray often and taking his last name. River Everett had a nice ring to it. But even though we were talking about marriage, Gray had never mentioned he wanted to marry me until that evening.

Since he’d built that playroom, he was starting to become more comfortable about the whole BDSM thing. We were exploring a lot in the playroom, and he even let his brothers use it once in a while.

I looked over at Harry and Carter, who were cutting up some food for Pollock. Pollock had gotten food all over his own tuxedo, and Harry didn’t look pleased.

At the end of dinner, everyone went down to the main floor where the lights were dimmed, and a DJ was playing a slow song.

Gray grabbed my hand and pulled me close to him. Next to us were Blue and Hunter dancing together, and Harry and Carter were dancing as well. I wrapped my arms around Gray’s neck. I could see eyes on us as we danced, and I felt so proud to get to call him mine.

I could feel Gray’s cock slowly get hard as we danced together.

“Someone’s excited,” I whispered.

Gray smiled. “You look incredible tonight. Of course I’m excited.”

“I know we haven’t talked about it yet, but I want you to work at my new law firm,” Gray said.

I looked up at him, surprised at what he was saying.

“Really?” I asked.

He nodded. “I don’t want you being an escort ever again. I know it might be hard to be dating and working together. But Hunter and Blue seem to have a nice balance, and I’ve been talking to Hunter about how they make it work. Do you think you’re interested?”

I tried not to cry, since so many people were there. But tears fell uncontrollably from my eyes. “All I ever wanted when I graduated was a job in my field. Of course, I’m interested.”

“Good,” Gray said. “Because I know how smart you are, and I know you’ll bring a lot of value to the firm.”

After the song finished, the DJ put on a more upbeat song. Gray and I watched Blue try and drag Hunter back onto the dance floor. Harry and Carter were getting Pollock to dance too.

It was an unforgettable night with Gray. For once in my life, I felt like I was part of a group of people who I could turn to. Gray’s family was starting to feel like my family too.

I never thought I’d be with someone like Gray, and I was excited about what our future held. For the longest time, I’d lived in fear that no one could look past my flaws. But Gray made me realize that even people who appeared perfect on the outside had flaws too.
