A smooth voice woke me from my peaceful slumber. “Good morning, gorgeous.”

I rolled over, smiling. “Morning yourself.”

“You feeling okay?”

I nodded, shivering as he trailed his fingers down my stomach. “You?”

He leaned over and kissed me. “Better than ever.”

I rolled back over in an attempt to climb out of bed but his hands snaked around my middle. He began spreading kisses all over my back and pulled me back against him. I closed my eyes in anticipation of what was to come next and relaxed.

He worked his way up and down my back before kissing his way across my shoulders and over my neck. I moaned against him as his hand wandered between my legs.

He slipped himself between my legs and whispered in my ear, “You always so ready?”

I blushed as I reached backwards to touch him. “You turn me on.”

He slid inside me and nipped at my shoulder. “I think that’s the best news I’ve heard yet.”

He moved with a slow, teasing rhythm, coaxing me to that blissful place I so adored. His hands glided over my chest while his sweet lips continued to bless me with kisses. I reached behind me and raked my hands through his hair, pulling him down closer to me. All the amazing sensations flooding me at once was nothing short of pure ecstasy.

He picked up the pace and lowered his hand to my sensitive spot. He started playing, teasing me even more as he matched the rhythm of his fingers to that of his hips. My delicious release was climbing a slow incline as he continued his lazy, purposeful pace.

I succumbed to the buzz coursing through me, wishing I could lie like this for days with him. The wonders he submitted me to were just incredible. He continued his unhurried speed, nursing me all the way to my edge, his own enjoyment spilling into me as I tightened around him with my leisurely fall.

He kissed my shoulders and ran his fingers down my body. “I don’t think I’ll ever get enough of you.”

A burst of pride obliterated my insides at hearing his words. “Ditto.”

Obliterating our sexy Sunday morning into a million pieces, the shrill ringing of his phone interrupted anything further. He groaned as he rolled over and grabbed it from his jeans.

“Shit.” He leaped out of bed, pulling his jeans on as he greeted the caller. “Hi, Dad…”

I frowned at his worried tone of voice, wondering what the problem was.

“Yes, Dad…no, Dad…yes, okay…I’m sorry, okay? I left my phone on silent in my pocket. No, I’m not…yes…yes, okay…bye.”

He stuffed his phone back in his pocket as he ran his hands through his hair with a big sigh. He took a deep breath before turning back around. A streak of panic and stress now edged his handsome face. I’d never seen anything of the sort on him and it definitely wasn’t a look that suited him.

“Everything okay?” I asked.

He smiled but it didn’t quite reach his eyes. “Yeah, it’s fine.” He pulled his t-shirt on before searching for his socks. “Listen, I hate to kiss and run but I really need to go.”

I smiled, trying to hide my disappointment. “It’s fine. No doubt I’ll have Molly ringing soon anyway.”

He leaned over, giving me a deep kiss. “I’ll call you later, okay?”

I nodded, faking a smile.

With that, he was bounding down the stairs before roaring down the street in his car.

All day Sunday I watched my phone, eager for any call or text I may receive from him. I ventured round Molly’s to give her as few of the details as possible, staying for tea to help take my mind off the ever absent Paul. How could a guy have such a profound effect on me? Usually I enjoyed my freedom more than being with a man, yet here I was, moping because one hadn’t called.

I awoke Monday morning grabbing at my phone, hoping to see a text or missed call whilst I’d been asleep but there was nothing. My heart started pounding and I began to panic about the day ahead. I cursed myself for even thinking it could be anything other than a one-night stand. Now, I fitted the bill of the slutty PA who slept with her boss.

Thoughts of people finding out or the directors calling me in for a disciplinary meeting flooded my mind. I almost had a panic attack once the possibility of being sacked hit me. I loved this job, it was the position I came to after my accident with Scotch. I guessed you could say it was sentimental.

Ignoring it all, I convinced myself to stop being a drama queen. There would be a reasonable explanation for his lack of communication. I made my way to work, walking to my desk with my breath held. I calmed to a degree when I saw no one in yet. After making a hot cup of tea, I felt able to face the world.

I was almost halfway through my cup of tea when Paul came in. He breezed into the room, heading straight for his office, and closed the door behind him without so much of a look at me.

My anger began boiling, filtering through every cell of my body. How dare he treat me like this. Who did he think he was? On the verge of barging into his office full of fury, I jumped when he opened his door, sending a stern look my way.

“Kyra, have you got a minute?”

My heart started racing as I edged towards him. His eyes were difficult to read this morning, giving nothing away. I entered his office, grinding my teeth as he closed the door behind me. As I turned to face him, he cupped my face in his hands, gifting me with a tender kiss. I became lost all over again as he made my knees buckle with his invigorating scent and divine touches.

“Good morning, beautiful. You look rather radiant today.”

I smiled, letting out a sigh of relief. “Morning.”

“I’m so sorry I didn’t call you yesterday. I bet you thought the worst of me by this morning, didn’t you?”

I folded my arms across my chest. “I think it was well deserved.”

His hands trailed down my arms before settling in the curves of my waist. “I’m sorry…” He nuzzled into my neck, leaving gentle kisses on my skin. “You smell so good…” His teeth nibbled at me, sending shivers down my spine. “You taste so good…” He ran his hands up and down my body. “You feel so good…” He worked his way back to my lips, kissing me with a deep passion. “Is there anything not good about you?”

Despite floating on cloud nine, my sarcasm couldn’t be helped. “Yes. My temper when I don’t get a call.”

He grinned, opening his mouth to say something when the outer office door banged shut, making me jump.

“Where’s Kyra?” I heard Andrews ask.

Whoever he was with said nothing.

“Hmmm,” Andrews said. “Is Paul in?”

We heard footsteps closing in, sending me into panic mode as I smoothed out my clothes, forgetting my flustered cheeks. Paul stayed cool, opening the door before Andrews did.

“Ahh, Paul,” he said. “Kyra, I wondered where you were, dear. Could I have five minutes when Paul is finished with you, please?”

I nodded to him, struggling not to smirk as I thought of how long Paul could be before he was finished with me.

Paul nodded. “I’ll be done in a few minutes, John.”

Closing the door, he turned back to me, grinning. “Now, shall we finish up here?”

A broad smile folded across my face as I submitted myself to his blissful kisses once more.

Just as the clock struck lunchtime, my phone rang from an outside line. I frowned, wondering who it could be.

“Hello. Kyra speaking.”

A deep voice laughed down the line. “Well hello, young lady.”

I squealed in delight. “Ashley! Is that really you?”

“The one and only, my lovely. What time is your lunch?”

“Now. Why?”

“I’m outside.”

I charged out of the door like a bull in a china shop, taking the stairs two at a time, nearly breaking my ankle several times.

He stood outside my work’s entrance, opening his arms for a giant hug. I ran straight to him, screaming with joy. He picked me up, swinging me round before kissing my cheek.

“What are you doing here? You said you wouldn’t be back until the weekend.”

He put me down with a big grin. “I wanted to surprise you.”

I grinned, grabbing his hand. “Come on. We have lots to talk about.”

Ashley was my gay older brother. You wouldn’t have a clue he was gay unless someone told you. His whole persona was very macho, alpha male type. Combined with his good looks, natural charm, and excellent dress sense, he was always batting away female attention. He’d been away travelling for just over a year in Australia. We’d had little contact throughout, which had been hard as we’d always been close. Our father died a good few years ago and our mum remarried and moved to America, leaving just me and him against the world.

We sat for lunch at the café across the street. I filled him in on my latest goings on with bubbling excitement. As I was telling him about Paul, right on cue, he emerged from work, making his way to the sandwich shop down the street. I pointed him out with a broad smile.

Ashley raised an eyebrow at me. “That’s him?”

I nodded, giggling.

He winked at me. “Well, he’s a bit of all right, Ky. You’ve done all right there.”

“You know what I’m like, Ash. It’s only a fling.”

He lowered his voice and looked at me with pursed lips. “Ky, I know your usual look when it comes to men and that isn’t one of them. Have you finally met a guy you want a proper relationship with?”

I shrugged my shoulders, smiling. “I don’t know, we’ll see.”

“Aww look at my lil sis, all fussed up over a guy—finally.”

“Shut up.”

He chuckled to himself as he walked me back to work. He kissed my cheek before he left, confirming he was coming round for tea tonight. I couldn’t wait.

I headed straight to the kitchen for a cup of tea, grinning away to myself as I thought of Ashley. I loved my brother to pieces. I couldn’t believe he was finally back.

I turned around to head back to my desk, jumping when I saw Paul standing in the doorway, his arms crossed over his chest as he leaned against the doorframe.

“So, who’s the hunk, then?” he asked.

I smirked, intending to play on this. “You saw him, then?”

He nodded. “It was kinda hard not to miss him giving you a loving kiss before he left you at the front door.”

I bit my lip to curb the laugh creeping up my throat. “Scared you might have some competition?”

He licked his lips before he smiled. “I think you should be worried of the competition.”

My playful mood dropped like a stone through water as I took his statement to mean he had a woman in his life. “What’s that supposed to mean?”

“He’s gay, Kyra. It stands out a mile off.”

Feeling more than relieved at that answer, I gave the truth. “He’s my brother. And yes, he is gay. How did you know? He does so well to hide it.”

He shrugged his shoulders. “I’ve met my fair share over the years.”

I raised my eyebrows, probing for an explanation, but he didn’t give one.

“What are you doing tonight?” he asked.

“Having tea with my brother.”

“Oh, okay. I was going to ask if I could see you, that’s all. I don’t have much spare time this weekend.”

“Well, I don’t know what time we’ll be done but you could come over afterwards if you wanted?”

He smiled, dropping his arms to his sides. “No, it’s okay. I’ll leave you to it. I’ll book you in for tomorrow night instead?”

I grinned and agreed, already looking forward to it.

Ashley was full of it when we went out for tea. He owned a house, which he’d rented out whilst he was away travelling. The tenants moved out last week so he’d obviously known for ages when he was coming back. He just enjoyed teasing me and telling me otherwise. I filled him in on all the details with Paul and informed him of Molly’s latest development.

He scowled. “That girl is something else. She can’t keep her legs shut for more than two minutes. She’s the definitive meaning of Tesco—open twenty-four seven. She’ll never get married, especially not to him.”

“Ash, that’s a bit harsh. She just enjoys herself. She’s a good friend to me.”

He downed the rest of his beer before looking me square in the eye. “That girl is trouble, Ky. You mark my words.”
