Severed Ties That Bind (Troubled Fathoms MC Book 1) by Vera Quinn (16)

Chapter 18

Sunshine

“Angus, you can’t show up here. Dra could have been here.” Angus stares me down and then he laughs.

“What kind of fool do you take me for? We paid good money for our identities, do you think I would compromise that? Besides Dra is with his woman tonight. I thought you were working on that situation. That woman and kid need to be gone so we can move forward. Fix the situation or I will,” Angus says with hate in his voice.

“They have been here one day. I can’t work miracles, but I have a plan. I am going to get Prissy to help me, but I may need you to assist also. Where is Krill? I don’t trust him either.” Angus walks into my living room and sits down.

“Krill is in Boulder trying to find leads on the two narcs we put down over at the high school. Krill doesn’t trust you either so watch your back. He put me watching you tonight. What the hell did you do to call attention to yourself?” Angus asks.

“I played the pregnancy card, but Dra remembered taking me to the doctor for my shot. He was not happy, but I played on his guilt and he folded. I told you that Krill and Dra’s sense of doing what they think is the right thing will be their downfall and it will.” I stop to think. I don’t want to tell Angus I have not ironed out all the kinks in my plan.

“Has the club got any idea who is dealing the drugs at the school and in the bar? Have they linked it to Boulder yet? If the Troubled Fathoms MC find out who our partners are it is only a matter of time before they go after them. Our partners gave us the money for new identities in exchange for us infiltrating the Troubled Fathoms MC for information. Angus you need to concentrate on that part and let me take care of Dra.”

“Sister, my eyes and ears are open. I have called our partners with every bit of information I have heard or seen. You are the one not carrying your weight. When Dra was drunk and thought you were the best cunt in the county we were able to get his damn phone and check texts and shit. I am just a prospect and that means I get the shit jobs with no information. You need to get back under Dra or we are both going to be in trouble and don’t think that I will take your heat because the men we are working with don’t work that way. All it will take is one call from them to the Troubled Fathoms MC and we will be dead, and Raven will enjoy every second of it.” Raven is the enforcer for the Troubled Fathoms MC and I don’t even like being close to the man. His dark eyes have no emotion and they look as if they are looking into your soul. Krill brought Raven in when he thought Dra was dead and they are best friends. The stories that I have heard say that Raven was an enforcer for the mob once upon a time. Who knows? Rumors also say that Dra was once the most brutal SAA that the Troubled Fathoms ever had, but I don’t see a killer in Dra.

“When have I ever expected you to take my heat? You may have sent me in after Krill or Dra, but this was my idea. I want to taste revenge as much as you do. When did you say that Maddie’s sister will be here, and did you get the information I needed?” Angus reaches in his pocket and pulls out a piece of paper and hands it to me. I open it and read it. Perfect, just what I need to finish out the destruction of Maddie Bass.

“Maddie’s twin will be here day after tomorrow. I don’t think she is going to be meek and mild like this Maddie. Everything that I have heard about her is that she is unpredictable and will go for your throat, so watch her.” Angus almost sounds concerned.

“Don’t you worry, brother. I am going to send them two bitches back to Texas with the brat in tow. Maddie is not going to know what the fuck hit her. Do you have anything else?” I ask.

“Nope. That’s it. You got anything to eat? The food at the clubhouse is shit.” That’s my brother. All business and then it’s time to eat or fuck. Men!

“I have some take out left in the refrigerator. Help yourself. I am going to call Prissy and get her over here first thing in the morning.” Angus smiles.

“Why don’t you call her over tonight?” Once again, men!

“Just because I trust Prissy to help me get rid of Maddie does not mean I trust her with the rest. I told Prissy if she helped me with Maddie that I would help her bag Krill. Just because the woman is devious does not mean she will betray the Troubled Fathoms MC. She would rat us out in a flash if she thought it would help get her into Krill’s bed on a regular basis. If she thinks she is scratching my back and I am going to scratch hers then she will be helpful but as soon as we know we are finished with her then we need to dispose of her, so she can’t talk.” Angus laughs.

“There’s my sister. Always using her head. I’ll dispose of Prissy when the time comes so I can have my fun too.” I shake my head at him.

“Lock up when you leave. I am going in the bedroom. I need to call Prissy and then I am getting a shower. When I send the text for help, that means immediately.  I will only get one shot at this and if it doesn’t work then we will need to take them all out.” I don’t even wait for Angus to reply.
