Chapter 2
“I missed you today,” Jay said.
“You missed our afternoon meetings.” I giggled and kissed him, remembering how amazing the past two weeks had been.
He put his hands on my waist, his grip firm. Our kiss deepened, and I leaned back to pull my head away despite how much as I wanted to carry on.
“Hey,” he said, gripping me harder.
“You’ll mess up my lipstick. You have to wait till after dinner for that.”
He pressed his forehead to mine. “Is that so?”
“Yes,” I teased, putting my finger to his nose.
“Maybe I’m not hungry anymore.” He kissed my cheek.
“Maybe I am.”
“Fine,” he released his grip. “I can’t wait to see what’s under that trench coat.”
“Let’s get to the restaurant, and you’ll find out.”
He’d parked his McLaren in the no-stopping zone in front of my building, the same place he’d parked his old banger two months before. I walked up to the passenger door and grabbed the handle.
“We’re getting a cab. There’s never any parking around Dish.”
“Oh, okay. But you can’t leave your car here, it’s a no parking zone.”
“It’s fine.” He put his arm around my waist, steering me away from the car.
“No, they ticket like mad around here.”
“Oh well.”
“Unbelievable.”
“What?”
“Just because the ticket is pocket change to you, you don’t care? It’s not about the ticket, it’s about being considerate to other people.”
He looked at me, and I flushed. It was my own little stance against the one percent.
“You really want me to move it?”
“Yes.”
“Fine, if it means that much to you. Just give me twenty minutes while I drive around looking for a parking spot.” He swung his arms in an exaggerated way as he said it.
“But we’ll be late for our reservations.”
“Which is it, Abbie? What would offend you less? A parking infraction or tardiness?”
“Can’t we just drive there and find a spot?”
A taxi drove past, and Jay flung up his arm. The car screeched to a stop. Jay opened the door and looked at me to get in. I debated for a moment, sighed and climbed in.
Jay walked around the car and got in the other side. I shuffled across the seat and leaned my head on him. He put his arm around me, soothing me. Should I explain my little outburst? I caught myself with the image of his car parked where it shouldn’t be.
“Can I ask you something?” This seemed like a good moment, it had been bothering me for a while.
“Of course, anything.” He smoothed my hair.
“Before you said you’ve wanted me for years. What did you mean by that?”
“What do you mean?”
“I mean, I only worked at Force McAllister for a few months. How could you have wanted me for years?”
The car stopped for a red light, and Jay’s eyes fixed on it. When it turned green, he spoke.
“For years I’ve wanted to find someone to settle down with but never had any luck. Until I found you.”
My heart filled with warmth and I squeezed my body into his. His closeness, his cologne, the beat of his heart. Everything about him mesmerized me.
My eyes looked out the window, but I didn’t see anything on the other side. I was too intoxicated by his scent. The closeness of the cab made his spicy cologne much more apparent and I could think of little else.
The only other thing I noticed was the g-string pulling against my lips. I guess they were not intended to be worn out and about. I tried moving it by clenching my ass cheeks, which was useless. I was dying to hitch it out, but that was all unladylike and Jay would most definitely notice. How would Jay react if I reached my hand up under my coat and dress and dug it out?
We seemed to be hitting every red light, prolonging my discomfort.
“Everything okay?” Jay asked.
“Huh? Yeah. Why?”
“Because you’re dancing around so much.”
“I’m wearing an Agent Provocateur g-string and it’s really uncomfortable,” I said, my voice quiet so the taxi driver couldn’t hear.
He leaned his head against mine. “Now I really wish we’d skipped dinner.”
“Don’t you wish?”
“I do. I’m going to tell this man to turn the car around.”
“Not yet, mister. A girl deserves dinner first.”
Jay burst out laughing, “Oh, does she now?”
“Besides, you can’t be that excited.” After my parking tirade anyway.
“You always have me excited.”
“I do, do I?”
He grabbed my arm, sliding his hand down until he’d found my hand, then he pushed it against his crotch. His cock was hard, the discovery of which excited me to my core. I still could not believe I had this effect on a man as incredible as him.
