The Wright Mistake by K.A. Linde (15)

Fifteen

Julia

After what had happened in the car, I supposed I shouldn’t have expected there to be any shyness between us. This right here had never, ever been our problem. Damn Heidi for being right.

I’d had every intention of giving Austin a spectacular kiss good night and sleeping in my own bed. Not blowing him in his smoking-hot car. Not racing to his home to be together. Not doing every single dirty thing that I had running through my head.

Fuck expectations. This is way better.

Austin skidded into his garage, closing the door behind him. Butterflies rattled around my stomach with anticipation. He casually exited the car and then popped the truck.

“Can’t forget Waffle,” he said, picking up the enormous pink unicorn.

I snort-laughed. “You are ridiculous.”

“I take my custody very seriously.”

We moved into his house, which was located a couple of blocks off of Texas Tech’s campus in Tech Terrace, a subdivision that had been growing since the ’60s. Austin had bought the house a couple of years ago, gutted the interior, and started over. The property itself had been worth more than the house sitting on top of it. But, now, it was gorgeous, rustic, and a total bachelor pad.

Austin put Waffle on the couch with care. “There you go, buddy.”

“I wish you were like this all the time.”

Austin’s head snapped to me. “I am like this all the time.”

“Uh, no, you’re not. Most of the time, you don’t give a shit about anything.”

“All this time, you’ve thought that I don’t care about you, Jules?”

“What else am I supposed to think with the way you act? Every time we are together, you make some snide remark about getting me in bed. You didn’t care that I had a boyfriend, which I suppose shouldn’t have been a surprise, and you are generally a jerk.”

“Truth is, I don’t know how else to act around you.”

He took a few steps away from Waffle, pinning me in place with his heated gaze.

“So, you go with antagonistic?”

“Yes. It’s easier than telling you that I’ve thought about you every day since you left.”

“That was almost two years ago,” I said a little breathlessly.

“It was.”

“You could not have been into me this whole time. You were the one who fucked up. You were the one who pushed me away.”

“I know. I’m not going to make that mistake again.”

I read the sincerity on his face before he pressed me back against the wall, his mouth covering mine. I gasped as we collided. He took advantage of the movement and moved his tongue into my mouth. My body shuddered under his with all those months of pent-up sexual tension between us.

His hand slid down my thigh and hoisted it up around his hip. We shifted together a fraction closer, thrusting our hips together. I threw my arms around his shoulders, and he took that as indication to go further. He grabbed my other leg, pulling me completely against him. I locked my legs behind his back.

“Jules,” he muttered like a prayer.

“Hmm?”

“Want to fuck you, babe.”

I pulled back from his lips as he grasped my ass roughly in his hands. “That a question?”

“Statement.”

“Good. That’s what I thought.”

He grinned. “Could you be more perfect for me?”

“Yet to be seen.”

He kissed me again. This time, it was soft and gentle. Not at all like a kiss I’d ever gotten from Austin. He leaned me into the wall, caressing my lips with a tenderness I hadn’t known he was capable of. This wasn’t a quick, desperate kiss. This was passion, and in some way, it almost felt like an apology.

“What was that for?” I whispered against his lips.

“Just wanted to do it once before we went back to yelling at each other.”

I laughed. “You’re so confident that we will.”

He winked at me as he started walking me through the living room and the kitchen, and then he kicked open the back door.

“Austin…”

“Yeah, babe?”

“What the hell are you doing?”

One hand slipped between my legs and stroked me. I groaned at the intimate motion.

“Getting you wet.”

He slipped his shoes off, and before I could protest, he threw us both into his pool. My head went under with a giant splash. Austin released me as we went under, and I kicked away from him. I might have even kicked him in protest. I resurfaced, gasping, with him a quarter of the way across the pool.

“What the fuck?” I sputtered.

I pushed my soaked red hair out of my eyes and found Austin coming back toward me with a mischievous look on his face.

I held my hands out and shook my head. “Stay back, Wright.”

I grabbed both of my shoes and tossed them over the edge. Those Vans were seriously dead now.

“Ah, come on,” he said, stepping close to me again.

“Oh no, you’ve lost rights to all of this.” I gestured to my body.

“Don’t think so.”

“You ruined my shoes. Again.”

“Can’t ruin something twice.”

“You just did.”

He finally reached me, and his hands slipped, wet and full of confidence, down my sides.

“Austin,” I said warningly.

“Babe.”

His lips brushed mine once before he tasted his way down my neck. I wanted to stay pissed at him for throwing me in the fucking water again. But, somehow, I just arched my back and gave him better access. His tongue trailed up my neck, sending shivers down my body. He tugged on my earlobe with his teeth, and my lower half throbbed with desire.

Damn him!

Austin reached for the bottom of my T-shirt. I halfheartedly smacked his hand.

“You’re a pain in the ass. You know that, right?”

Austin laughed as he ripped my shirt up and over my head. “I’d be happy to oblige that, too.”

I flushed from head to toe, which only egged him on.

“God, I love that.”

His fingers skimmed the underside of my bra, enjoying every inch of milky-white skin before cupping the breast and squeezing.

“I have dreamed about these tits.”

He unhooked the bra and let them spill out before him. His mouth was hot on my nipple, teasing it with his tongue and sucking it to a peak. My head tilted back, and I arched into the side of the pool.

Austin Wright knew exactly what to do with this tongue. I was already shaking from the attention to my tits.

My fingers gripped his shirt, as I ached to see the six-pack underneath. He tugged it off, and it squelched as it dropped to the ground.

“Fuck,” I said, running my fingers over every taut inch.

“Yes, please.”

“I sure hope your neighbors can’t see into your backyard.”

“Eh, let them have a show.”

I laughed at him as he backed me into the shallow end. Only Austin would be so cavalier about anyone seeing us half-naked in his pool.

“I still can’t believe you threw me into this pool.”

He snapped the button on my shorts and dragged the zipper down to the base. His eyebrow quirked. “Are you complaining?”

I squirmed as he striped me fully naked, picked me up—as if I weighed nothing, which was far from the truth—and laid me out on the side of the pool like a feast before him. Yeah, no complaints from me.

“Jules?” he said, his fingers inching slowly up the inside of my thighs. “Do you want me to stop?”

“No,” I spat out.

“You sure, babe?” He reached the apex of my legs and found out exactly how wet I was.

“Austin,” I squeaked.

“Fuck. You do want me,” he said, like the arrogant bastard he was.

He moved one finger into my pussy before spreading me open and inserting a second. I moaned at an indecent volume and could give two fucks if anyone heard. As he stroked me, he leaned forward, teasingly blowing on my clit.

“Yes, I want you!” I gritted out at the wonderful torment.

His answering laugh was muffled as he lowered his tongue to my clit and ravished me. My hips came off of the ground. My back arched. My entire core trembled as he licked, bit, and sucked my clit. He consumed me. I forgot where we were and nothing else mattered, just the feel of him.

I felt myself letting go. I writhed under him as the pressure mounted. But he wasn’t letting me get away. He wrapped his loose arm across my hips and pressed me into the ground. I was completely trapped by his tongue, and when I came, I completely released. I screamed into the night as Austin drew out my pleasure with a few gentle strokes into me.

Austin stepped out of his soaked shorts and boxers as I recovered. I eased into a sitting position, just now feeling the burn across my back from the ground. Oh well. Worth it.

“Come here,” Austin said.

He crooked a finger at me as he took a seat on the top step. I moved over to him, towering over him in a way I never could regularly.

“I think you might have liked that as much as I did.” My eyes drifted to his cock, standing up and waiting for me.

“I enjoy watching you come.”

His hands gripped my hips and drew me onto his lap. I straddled him, teasing the tip of his dick with my wet pussy. It was his turn to shudder.

“I enjoy this more,” he said before roughly pushing me down.

His cock thrust into me deep and without warning. It was a good thing I was soaking wet as I wrapped all around him.

“Jules,” he groaned. He leaned his head forward into my shoulder and kissed across my collarbone.

I didn’t want this to end. This feeling. This energy between us. The way we seemed to fit perfectly together. As if our bodies were two pieces of a puzzle, destined to match.

His hands on my ass guided me up and down on his dick. The motion was slow and building until he got impatient. Then, he picked me up and slammed me back down. My tits bounced in his face. All worries left my head.

The past was the past. Our future was a blurry haze on the horizon. All we had was the present. This very moment.

No matter where we went from here, there was one certainty. Austin and I were as addictive as heroin and as combustible as gasoline.

I just hoped we didn’t go down in flames…again.
