The Librarian (The Rulers of Darkness MC Book 1) by Belle Winters (20)

Psycho

I was happy as fuck to be home. I was mentally and physically drained and all I wanted to do was fucking sleep for a week. I had to of aged ten years with this whole shit storm. When we got into the room, Siarra collapsed face first into the bed and groaned. As tired as I was and wanted to go the fuck to sleep there were some things I needed to know right now.

“Siarra?”

“Yes?” her answer came out muffled because she didn’t lift her face from the bed.

“Tell me what happened.” I demanded.

I leaned back against the dresser and crossed my arms as she adjusted herself on the bed. She shrugged sheepishly and batted her lashes. That shit wasn’t gonna fucking work this time. “Tell me everything.” I said.

She sighed. “Well… do you promise not to get mad?” she asked.

I shook my head. Not fucking happening.

She groaned. “I don’t feel comfortable telling you if don’t promise me.”

“Stop fucking with me bitch.” I warned.

“Promise…” she urged.

“Fine, I fucking promise.” I didn’t mean that shit, at all.

She smiled. “So, do you want the long version or the short version?”

Swear to fuck my head was going to explode. “Cut the shit and fucking talk or I swear to fuck…” I growled.

She held her hands up. “Ok, alright. Here goes…”

She went on to tell me how she was pissed that I told her to take her little ass home and she decided to do something. She saw the woman trailed her to the spot and then followed Acid to his club where she proceeded to dress like a slut and seduce him into taking her back. The gun she had she fucking stole from my bike and he had every intention on keeping her.

I stared at her when she was done.

And stared.

And stared some more.

Then… “WHAT THE FUCK WERE YOU THINKING?!?!” I exploded.

She paled. “You said you wouldn’t get mad.” She said in a small voice.

I stood up straight and began advancing on her. She began shifting back slowly on the bed trying to keep some space between us. “Mad? You think I’m mad?” I asked her as I reached the bed.

She nodded. “Yes.” She squeaked.

I laughed but it was with no humor. “Oh no little girl. I’m not mad.”

She went for a smile and failed epically. I got on the bed and knocked her to her back and crawled over her. When I had her pinned beneath me I gripped her face holding it in place. “I’m not mad Siarra, I’m fucking furious!” I said before I took her mouth.

This bitch was seriously gonna be the death of me. “That was fucking reckless and stupid. You get that?” I asked.

She frowned. “But it helped.”

I shook my head. “I don’t give a fuck.” But I did, and she was right, but I didn’t like her putting herself in danger on purpose like the other little fuck. “Don’t ever do no shit like that again. Do you hear me?” I asked.

She had the balls to shake her head. “I would do it for you and Addie every time.” She argued.

I groaned and kissed her again. “What the fuck did I say?” I asked.

She shrugged. “You heard what I said.”

“Do that shit again and I’ll kill you. Now tell me what the fuck I want to hear.” I said as I nipped that spot on her shoulder that drove her crazy.

She moaned. “Ok fine, I won’t.”

Good. “Now I’m gonna fuck you to make sure that you’re really here and then I’ma leave my cum so deep inside of you, you won’t make the mistake of forgetting who the fuck the boss is and who owns you.”

She shivered. “Yes. Yes, please.”

God, I loved it when she begged.

Siarra

I was sitting at the table with Addie and Danny going over her homework. We were in the middle of a math problem when I felt a tug to my ponytail. I leaned back and was greeted to the sight of Sy standing behind me drenched in sweat from his workout.

He leaned down and kissed me swiftly on the lips. Ever since the whole incident a couple of weeks ago, he’d been showing random acts of affection that I was crazy about. “What are you up to you little criminal?” he asked.

I rolled my eyes. He hasn’t let it go yet. According to him, I was a bigger threat to society than the club. He’s given me lists of my multiple indiscretions numerous times. I stole his bike and his gun, I engaged in prostitution, I lied about my identity, stalked and harassed more than one person, and the biggest one of all… went behind his back. He made up quite a few interesting things as well.

I grinned at him. “We’re planning a bank heist, you in?” I asked.

He shook his head and groaned. “I ain’t bailing you out babe, I hope you like orange.”

I shrugged. “It just so happens to look good on me.”

He tugged on my ponytail again. “Just behave woman.” He gave me another kiss before walking off.

Addie looked up from her book and she looked mischievous. I didn’t like it, not one bit. “Are you and dad getting married?” she asked.

I froze. “Huh?”

She shrugged. “You guys can get married and you can adopt me.”

I grimaced just imaging his reaction to her words. “Well, it doesn’t quite work that way. Marriage is a big commitment.” I tried to explain.

“Don’t you love us?” she asked.

Well damn. “Of course, I do.” And I did.

She frowned. “So, what’s the problem?”

I sighed. “I love you both yes. But marriage is a different type of love… two people should not only love and care for each other but be in love with one another. Not exactly the same thing.” I explained.

Her head tilted from side to side. “Well are you in love with him?” she asked.

Why did she have so many questions today? “I’m not sure… I mean, that’s not something we ever discussed. I think that maybe I should talk with your father about this before anyone else.”

She nodded. “Oh ok.” Phew. Crisis averted.

I turned my attention to Danny. “So, how are things going?” I asked.

I left him alone only making idle chit chat with him, but I was curious. He shrugged. “It’s pretty cool here. Everyone is… nice?” he blushed.

I got what he meant. They weren’t exactly nice; he might’ve been going more for welcoming. “That’s good. Has Tank been behaving and helping you out?”

His blush deepened. “Yes. He’s cool; I get along with him… I don’t feel quite so alone sharing a room with him. I’m sure though eventually he’s going to want his space back.”

I waved my hand dismissively. “Oh puh-lease, just tell me if he even tries. I’ll set him straight.”

Tank chose that moment to walk in the room. “Tank!” I called him over.

He came over and ruffled Addie’s hair. She glared at him and he laughed. “What’s up Sia?”

“Are you behaving and treating our guest ok?” I asked. I wanted to be sure. Tank wasn’t the type – or at least I didn’t think he was – to do something malicious to this man… but I wasn’t sure if Danny would be ok to tell me the truth if he was either.

Tank’s eyes flew to Danny’s and he glared at him. Danny shifted uncomfortably in his seat and looked away. I frowned. “Tank, stop it!” I whisper hissed.

His eyes came back to me. “Why would you ask me that?” he asked defensive.

My frown deepened. “No reason. I was just checking, he actually said he thought it was cool being around you is all. What’s your problem?” I asked.

He shrugged. “Nothing. I was just confused… I didn’t understand what I would’ve done to make you ask me that is all. My bad.”

I rolled my eyes. “Damn straight.”

That made him laugh. “I’m going to take that as my cue to leave before you rip me a new asshole.” And backed away.

Danny looked at us and forced a smile. “I’m kind of tired. I think I’m going to try for a nap in case Tank decides he wants to watch that ridiculous show again all night.” He stood. He gave Addie a hug and waved at me from their side of the table. “I’ll catch you guys tomorrow?” he asked.

I smiled and nodded. “Same place and time.”

He laughed at that. That was my signature line to him… I wanted him to know that we weren’t going to go anywhere as long as he didn’t want us to.

We headed home early that day. Sy finished up, and if I could read him correctly he was horny… as usual. He almost instantly cornered me when Addie went up to her room to mess around with the iPad and read a book. As much as I wanted it too, my brain was too preoccupied. There was something that has been bugging me and I’d been afraid to bring it up to him – afraid of what his response might be, but I needed to know.

I pushed back on his chest. He looked down at me and frowned. “What’s the matter babe?”

I sighed and moved to sit on the bed. “Look, I want to ask you something and I need to know the truth.”

He kept space between us and nodded. “Alright.” He nodded. “But for the record, I only ever give you the truth.”

I took a deep breath, here goes nothing. “So, you’ve bought up everything about that whole crazy day. Me taking the bike, the fake prostitution thing, the gun. But you never, not once, bought up that I used it. You called me everything but a murderer.”

He sighed. “I figured this would come up eventually.” He came towards the bed and sat down beside me.

“So?” I asked.

He shrugged. “So, what?”

“Well… what do you think about what I did? I mean, do you think of me differently now?” I asked.

He frowned and shook his head. “No.”

That gave me pause. “How can you not? I killed a man.” I pointed out.

“You’re not a murderer. You defended yourself.” He said.

I shook my head. “That’s just what you believe. If the cops knew what happened, I’d be in jail.”

He groaned and pulled me into his lap. He gripped my chin forcing me to look him in the eyes. “Nobody… and I mean nobody would ever say or even think that you weren’t justified. You were protecting your family. What real parent you know wouldn’t have done anything they could to protect their kid? Addie is like a daughter to you and any person – even people like me, without a heart – would never think that. I’m proud of you for what you did. I think it was amazing and it’s not because I’ve done it before or because it’s a part of my world. It’s why you did it. You understand me?” he asked.

My heart stopped then picked up at an alarming rate. Butterflies erupted in my stomach as he brushed his lips against mine. “Really?” I asked.

He nodded. “Fuck yea. Her own mother didn’t protect her, and look at what the fuck you did for her. What could’ve fucking happened to you. It wasn’t because anyone asked or wanted you to, it’s because you needed to protect what’s yours and fuck me if that isn’t the best damn quality in a person.”

I melted into him as he kissed me stopping any further words or thoughts from killing the moment. It was then that I knew I was in love with this man. That was scarier than the not knowing because it would crush me if he didn’t feel the same. That was definitely unchartered territory.
