The Librarian (The Rulers of Darkness MC Book 1) by Belle Winters (21)

Psycho

Ever since Siarra came to me that night asking me what I thought about her offing Acid, she’s been walking on egg shells around me. I didn’t fucking like it. It felt strangely like she was keeping a secret and didn’t want me to find out, it pissed me the fuck off.

I tried to get it out of her a few times, even asked Addie if she knew anything about it. Either I was fucking crazy or they were both being tight lipped. Although, I had a feeling Ad might not know. When Siarra started acting really weird Addie would seem as confused as me. Was she pulling away from us? Didn’t want us around anymore? If that was the fucking case, she needed to speak the fuck up. I didn’t want her hurting my girl.

Cornering her, screaming at her, and plying her with sex… none of that shit was working and I was running out of fucking ideas. She was like a scared fucking animal and it was making me uncomfortable and unsure about approaching her, when I was just getting used to this whole affection bullshit. To say I was pissed was an understatement.

This was my third time in the gym today, and it wasn’t helping me. I was wound up tight and I haven’t fucked her in days. When I got back to the main room, Misty walked up to me. “Hey Prez.” She greeted me.

She was wearing a black dress that just barely covered the best places on a woman’s body. I’m sure if she bended over, I’d have a clear view of her naked ass. Bitch was always bottomless, ready on the whim. I’d had her before and she wasn’t bad.

“What’s up?” I asked as I checked out her breast. It looked like at the slightest of movements her nipple might jump out to greet me.

She shook her head. “Nothing, you just looked stressed. I could go to get Sia for you…” she hesitated, and I knew why. It was really fucking obvious something was shaking. We were barely speaking, and I’d barely touched her. I was horny and as fucking easily accessible pussy was here, there was only one I wanted.

I shook my head. “Nah I’m good.” I couldn’t help letting my eyes roam over Misty. She was hot for sure, but she wasn’t doing anything for me. The fuck.

She frowned. “Is everything alright?” she asked.

She was always a decent bitch in my book. Sure, she was a club whore, but she didn’t indulge in much else other than the sex. She was a dude at heart… she enjoyed getting off, but besides that she was cool as fuck.

I shook my head. “I don’t know what the fuck is up… shit I wish I fucking did. She’s driving me fucking crazy and I feel like I already hit sixty with her ass.”

Misty laughed and shrugged her shoulders. As expected, the front fell and right there was her practically her whole boob. I just shook my head. She continued to laugh not even knowing she was flashing me. I reached for the top of her dress to pull it up when I heard her. I glanced up and there was Siarra, standing in the entryway with a look of hurt and disbelief on her face.

I frowned. “Siarr – “I began and was cut short because she turned around and walked away.

I fixed Misty’s dress after pointing out the problem to her before I went to find Siarra. I was over this shit and needed to know what the fuck was wrong with her. I looked everywhere, and it wasn’t until I ran into Rip that I found that she left. I tried calling her and she sent me to voicemail. After the fifth call I got a text from her.

Loca: Leave me alone right now. Please stay at the club, I need space.

The ever-loving fuck?

Siarra

I did this. I caused it; I was the reason for it.

Logically, I knew I had no right to be angry with Alex. I practically tossed him at her. I knew he was beyond frustrated and annoyed with my distance and the way I was skirting around him, but I couldn’t help myself. I was certain once I became aware of my feelings for him, he would be able to look at me and read it all over my face… then he would run.

Well, good going there Siarra… he’s gone anyway. I was actually walking that way trying not to run into him and imagine my surprise when I walk in on him peeling Misty’s shirt off. I know he was used to getting sex whenever he wanted before he was dealing with me and well… after. But I’d had him cold turkey.

It wasn’t that I didn’t want him, I did. I really really did, which was another reason I needed to avoid him. However, whatever filter it was that I have went right out the window when he had me all hot and bothered. I had nightmares that I let the words slip in the middle of passion and it was mortifying. Call it paranoid, I just was too afraid to risk anything. I liked what we had and unbeknownst to me I still jacked everything up letting my mind get away with me. Talk about a catch twenty-two.

I stared at my ceiling and groaned. So now what? My stomach was in knots, the thought that we were done was eating me alive. It’s not at all what I wanted, and what could I really do about it. I asked him for space because I needed time to figure things out, not to mention prolong the inevitable. I knew from the beginning that he wasn’t the domestic type. Kids, dogs, house… all the things I longed for but never really let myself imagine.

Is this when he finally just takes Addie and pushes me out of his life?

Addilyn

It’s been days since my dad has been over. Everything seemed great and I was certain that I would have a family with him and Siarra. I don’t know what happened though. Siarra has been sad and Sy has been really mean and grumpy. Not to me, but everyone else. Every time he talks it’s like he’s screaming and he even punched Jagger in the throat yesterday when he made a stupid joke he didn’t like.

Right now, I was sitting at the table with Sy and he was just frowning and fuming staring off into space.

“Dad?”

I tried to get his attention, but he didn’t move a muscle.

“Sy?” I tried again and nothing.

“Dad?” I said a bit louder.

He blinked and then his eyes came to focus on me. “Hey, what’s up?” he asked.

I frowned. “What’s the matter?” it was bugging me, and I really wanted to know.

He groaned. “It’s nothing…” he muttered.

I sighed. “Just tell me already… what’s wrong with you and Siarra?” I asked.

He wiped his face roughly and blew out a long breath. “I don’t fucking know Ad…”

I rolled my eyes. “I’m not that young… or stupid. I can handle it.” I assured him.

He let out a low chuckle. “I’m serious. I have no fucking idea. You saw how weird she was acting for those few weeks then all of a sudden she told me to leave her alone.”

Huh. “That’s weird. Are you sure you didn’t do something to her?” I asked him unconvinced. “Maybe it was something you said?” I offered.

His eyes narrowed. “Whose side are you on little girl? I didn’t fucking do anything to the woman. One minute everything is alright, the next she’s being all weird. Then one second I’m talking to Misty and the next she’s – “

He paused and his face twisted. He gripped the back of his neck and growled. He squeezed his eyes shut and slammed his hand against the table making me jump. “Fuck!” he roared.

He stood up and shook his head. “Fucking hell.”

He looked at me and cocked his head to the side. “How did you do that?” he asked.

I was confused. “What did I do?”

He looked at me like I was being silly. “Figure it out. I’ve been trying to make sense of that woman for days.”

I shrugged. “Sure, alright. I’ll take credit for it, even though I still don’t know what it is.” I raised my eyebrows. “So, what did you say?” I asked.

He frowned. “You’re nosy.” He pointed out.

I shrugged. “So?”

He shook his head. “This is grown folk business girl.”

I smile. “So?”

He pinched the bridge of his nose. “I didn’t do anything, but I think she saw something and thought the wrong thing.”

Ok, I didn’t want to know anymore. I could only imagine… I know what they do; they’re not exactly a quiet pair.

I asked him the big question. “So, what’re you going to do about it?” I asked.

He shrugged. “Fuck if I know.”

I grinned. “You can just marry her.” I suggested.

He frowned. “What’s it with you and this marriage shit?” he asked.

I shrugged. “I think it’s a good idea.” I looked at him. “You love her right?” I asked.

He flinched. “I care about her yea, like I don’t want anything to happen to her.”

He and Siarra are so much alike. “Well are you in love with her?”

He grimaced and made a disgusted noise. That wasn’t good, was it? “Well?” I asked when he didn’t answer.

Ay dios mios!” he looked up at the ceiling for a few seconds before looking back at me. “I don’t know about all of that. And I haven’t spoken to her about that yet. I would think I should maybe talk to her first.”

I pouted. “Grownups suck, that’s what she said.”

He put his hands on his hips. “What do you mean that’s what she said?” he asked.

I shrugged. “I asked her the same thing a while back and I dunno, she said the same thing. She didn’t know, and she never spoke to you about it.”

He glared at me. “What do you mean, she didn’t know.”

I glared right back. “What I said. That’s what she told me.”

“Oh, fucking yea?” he asked but I had a feeling he wasn’t talking to me anymore. “Misty!” he shouted.

I liked Misty, she was cool. She walked over. “You yelled?” she asked.

I laughed. “Can you watch Addie for me for a little while? I have something I need to take care of.”

Misty shrugged. “Sure, thing Prez.” She looked at me. “You wanna play some games?” she asked me.

I nodded. “Yes.”

“Alright then honey, let me go get everything setup. Meet me over there.” She said then walked off.

Sy was muttering things to himself. He walked away as I started putting my crayons and stuff away. He came back with his jacket on and an angry face. “Where are you going?” I asked.

“To go knock some sense into this little bitch. Who the fuck does she think she is? She don’t know… she don’t know my ass.” He complained.

I put my head down, so he didn’t see me smile. Interesting dad… very interesting.

He looked at me. “Please do not show your ass, and please do not attack any of the brothers while I’m gone.”

I held up my hand. “I won’t, scouts honor.”

He looked at me for a minute and frowned. “I don’t fucking believe you.” He stormed off and came back with a confused Danny.

He looked at Danny. “She likes you. I give you permission to tan her ass if she starts her shit. Sit with her and Misty and make sure I don’t get back to a massacre and a murdering fuck of a child will ya?” he asked.

Danny laughed and nodded. “Sure.” He looked over at me and winked. We were going to have fun.

“Thanks. I have a nerdy fucking librarian to choke the fuck out of.” He said and stomped away.

Danny looked at me with raised eyebrows. “What was that all about?” he asked.

I sighed. “They’re in denial that they’re in love and it made my dad mad. Now he’s going to go to Siarra and scream at her until she goes crazy on him.” I explained.

He nodded. “Ahh. So, what’s the plan?” he asked.

I grinned and rubbed my hands together. “We’re going to get the guys to play me in poker. I need to fill up my piggy bank.” I said.

He laughed. “Didn’t he say don’t get into trouble.”

I shook my head. “I think he said for me not to kill anyone and I won’t. As long as I win.” His eyes widened, and I laughed. “Oh, don’t worry; we can just hide the bodies. I think he’ll be a while. Their arguments are never fast.”

He put his head down and shook it. “Ya know, I actually thought you were an innocent little thing. I’m starting to question myself…”

I pouted and gave him the look that I’ve seen Siarra use on Sy to get her way. “You don’t like me anymore?” I asked.

He ruffled me hair. “More than ever.”

I grinned. “Alright then. Let’s go kick some – “

“Don’t you dare…” he warned.

I scrunched up my face. “What? I was gonna say beehives.”

He laughed. “I don’t know if I believe that.” He grabbed my hand and led me over to the table where Rip, Gunner, and Scar were playing cards.
