I’m pacing up and down Dom’s living room. I stop to glance around every few minutes, taking in the black furniture with a massive TV; it’s a typical bachelor pad. I start pacing again. I’m coming out of my skin. Emmy’s in our house. She’s in our town. She was within touching distance today. Three times I’ve had to walk away from her since she’s been back. I stop pacing and decide to try and get some sleep. Dom’s away for three months on a job in Louisville. Dom is another friend who worked his ass off to find Emily. I wonder if calling Emmy again would be okay. Probably not. I look at the clock. It’s eleven pm. She’s probably sleeping, in our bed. I growl and pull my hair roughly. Tomorrow. I can speak to her again tomorrow. I wonder if she found the necklace I made for her. I hope she understood the message. We’re meant to be, no matter what trials we go through.
